Whoo hoo! Snow monsters oc is finally open! I've been peeking at their Instagram often since they announced they were opening sometime this week. They sneakily put up a post with white letterings that they had a low key opening today and soft opening from tomorrow. Lucky for me I work nearby and they opened shortly before I finished my shift so I walked over to the royal Hawaiian shopping center food court to take a look. There was no line so I was able to walk right up and order. I chose the sunset strawberry lemonade in a glass jar for ($12) let's be honest tho. I didn't need the jar, but I got it for the gram. Lol. It was also too cute to pass up. I got my drink pretty quick. Just be patient with them as they're still learning. You can always park at the shopping center and get it validated as long as you spend $10 or more for kamaaina (3 hours parking) their garage is kinda tight tho so it's perfect if you have a compact car. read more

Super stuffed from late lunch so wanted something healthy for "dinner" and tried Mini Monster. Just one person working but she was fast, friendly, and efficient! I ordered the Diamond Head and deleted banana because I just don't like them. The açaí is great and not too sweet and the granola is same. Place is located in the Royal Hawaiian food court so it's, overall, a busy and noisy place but it's fine and expected. Would definitely come back next visit to HNL/Waikiki for a dinner/dessert all-in-one. read more

Ambiance: Being in a food court, there's not much to it however the signage is aesthetically pleasing. Food: The drink was their signature Thai iced tea which was overly sweet with little to no tea flavor. You could either get it with half & half or oat milk, unfortunately it was with half & half making it too rich. The portion size of tea to milk was quite vast with the drink being 70% milk and 20% tea. Service: This was a pretty bad experience. The worker behind seemed already displeased at 9:30 am, which I didn't have a problem with. (We all have bad days) However when ordering I said oat milk, then said they don't have any boba because they are still making it. (which was fine) I carried on trying to be as pleasant as possible, however upon receiving the order I noticed he made it with half & half, after expressing that I ordered it with oat milk he said 'you didn't say that', making me question myself. Overall just a negative experience which I think is mostly popular for being aesthetically pleasing rather than actually tasting good. Maybe the other drinks are better but I'd stay away from the Thai tea if you get 50% sugar or less from other places. read more

They have a curated menu of about 8 drinks but what made us return was how delicious the matcha latte was. The sunset strawberry was a good non-caffeinated (I think) hit with my daughter, which was a ombre concoction with pea flower for pretty hues. read more

So glad another Yelper puts the location is on the 2nd level. I was going in circles and couldn't find it. You won't miss once you are in the food court. Easy to spot, but items on the menu is not the usual boba milk tea. Ordered the black tea with boba around noon, didn't know it came without creamer or milk. The server made it right and provided explanations that didn't make me feel stupid and yet gave me a little sample of honey milk tea for comparison. I ended up liking the black tea with boba I had ordered over the honey milk tea. Kudos to the server and because of her we will definitely go back again. Mini Monster Cafe from California has opened on the 2nd floor of Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center's food court near Mahaloha Burger. I decided to get the exclusive "Hawaii" 32oz jar for $11.95 and chose their Signature Thai Tea. I asked for 50% sweetness level but not sure if that's what I received because it tasted like regular sweetness which was too sweet for me. My receipt didn't show a sweetness level so I'm not sure if they offer it, or plain forgot, or didn't hear me. Tips if you decide to get the jar: - Future orders you'll only pay the 24oz price when you bring your jar back for refills. Depending how you math, you'll make your money back after 2-3 visits. - Decide if you want a closed lid to prevent spills (especially in transit) or the automatic default in my case was the Mini Monster (looks-like-a-bear) Lid. Plenty seating available since it's in a food court. It was awkward trying to carry that monster sized jar walking around the area. She's a bulky one. Since I got the jar I will return to try the Vietnamese Coffee, Matcha Latte & Lilikoi Tea to make my investment back. read more
