They get you in the door with a promo offer and then when the promo expires, they jack the rent up to an insane rate. We went from 125.00 a month to 181.00 for the same little space. I stated looking for a new storage company as soon as I received the notification and found a great spot, with a larger space, for a fraction of the cost in Shoreline. Unless you can afford the price hike, stay away from this place.

I just got a postcard (!!) in the mail from them saying they are raising the rate 57% starting in 20 days. This is despite the fact that everything else I have done with them (including signing the rental agreement) has been done online and I have an account with their online portal. They have not sent an email, put a notification in my online account, or otherwise contacted me. They are clearly hoping people will throw away the postcard assuming it is junk mail and not be aware of the absurd increases. Oh and did I mention that the postcard has a "notification date" of 1/28/26 but was clearly not sent out that day as I did not receive it until 2/16/26. Would absolutely not recommend these con artists.

It was that cheesy really bad smell that was in there for the 6 months I rented; it never went away. The opening times are inconvenient for someone who works all day. In short: look for a better and serious company; the only nice thing I can say is that the toilet was clean and that the guys working there were nice overall. ( I used the one at Alaskan Way in Seattle).

Icing on the cake! The building is old, the customers seem.. worn but who cares? They don't have theft issues and I only need it for a short time. There are currently 120sq ft units listed at $156/month. If you are 6 days late, you face a fee of $44. If you are 30 days late, they begin the auction process in which case you have to pay a $200 fee. They are more interested in getting you in cheap, raising your rate quick and forcing evictions for quick turn around. As the manager told me, "Storage isn't meant to be a long term thing, you're only supposed to be here for a few months. We have people with the same size unit as you that have been here for years that are paying $400-500".

I see by other reviews that some people have had problems, and I can't speak to that, but compared to the storage company where I, myself, last rented a space, Ballard CubeSmart is many cuts above.
