We realized that our favorite Chinese restaurant is going down hill so we decided to try this place. Well we love it! The dinner for 2 is what we always get and it is always delicious! You can pick what dishes you would like and the portions are HUGE- we eat a lot and it's more like a dinner for 3-4. The inside is nicely decorated, quiet, CLEAN. Very clean. WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD AND EXTREMELY RUDE MANAGER. Ordered a meal for delivery and was told it was for two people, and it would be 45 minutes. Our food came over an hour later and the meal was only big enough for one person. Overpriced, small portions , and cheap. Came during the afternoon for the lunch special and ordered several entres and they all came in this small-medium plate that would take atleast 2-3 to fill ONE person. Food had wayyyy too many vegetables and little meat; 70-30 ratio of veggies to meat I believe. Pretty sure the food was packed full of MSG as well. I also got a huge stomache ache and was very gassy for the rest of the day after the meal. Do not eat here! Awesome Taiwanese and Chinese food! I'm from Pullman originally, and have eaten here multiple times when visiting on break. They have a separate menu all in Chinese that you definitely have to order off of. The sizzling fried tofu and sa cha beef and vegetable dish are both delicious. I ordered take out tonight due to the football game and being afraid of losing my street parking outside of my daughter's apartment on college hill. The food I ordered came very quickly, well under an hour despite being told of a wait. All of the food was good, along with generous portions. However the spicy Mongolian beef was fabulous. I've tried all of the Chinese food restaurants in Pullman and I can definitely say Mandarin House is the best. Their lunch menu is really cheap and never leaves you hungry. Service is quick and friendly with almost no wait time for a table. The orange chicken is great as well as the almond chicken. I look forward to trying other dishes in the future. read more

The fried noodle + sweet and sour was delis. The atmosphere was very calm and background music blended in very well. Service was prompt. The only problem was the food. We ordered beef dumpling soup and kung pao chicken. The soup was wonderfully hot but as it cooled down you could detect a burned taste in the base which must have been "fixed" by adding extra star anise as it all got so sweet that the beef had that bad over boiled anise taste. For the Kung pao my friend ate the rice which was well cooked but avoided the chicken which did not taste or feel like chicken. The texture as too soft and the sauce base was simply weird. Kung poa happens to be one of my favorite asian dishes and that did not taste like anything i have ever experienced in a kitchen or restaurant before (and that is not to be mistaken for flattery either). Once we mentioned our concerns the cook approached us and was very offended because everyone likes this taste. I asked to orange chicken and more rice (which we payed for - in both occasions) and it still tasted subpar. As workers and owners of small family owned businesses we do believe that restaurant that are community or family based should never fail in quality control. So hopefully when someone from Mandarin House reads this they will be more likely to improve their quality of food. The rice can remain as good as it is and the little pre and post snacks are heart melters but the chicken needs to be looked at. Stella read more

This is the worst food I have ever purchased. I ordered lemon chicken and got crust with orange sauce on it. Honestly I took one bite and threw it away. When I called to complain they didn't do jackshit to compensate me. If someone burned this place to the ground, pissed on the ashes and put it on a plate I'm sure it would taste better than the crap that comes out of this shithole. Worst restaurant experience I have ever had. The food was way over priced and disgusting. It had no flavor and the chow mein we ordered looked like ramen noodles. I've had better Asian food from a mall food court. This is the first time I have ever considered not tipping a server. She never asked us what we wanted to drink, she never asked us how the food tasted, and when she saw we had hardly touched our food, she just threw some boxes on our table. I wish I could give this place more stars but it's really just ok. I ordered crab Rangoon and that was the best part of the meal! The sauce they give with it is pretty tasty, the wontons were very hot when I opened them up so those get a 4 star review. I ordered the House Combo M9 for my main course. The egg flower soup was decent, very hot, but not that flavorful. The egg roll was flavorful but it was soggy in the middle instead of crispy all the way around. The pork fried rice is kinda sad. It's essentially rice, scrambled egg, and a tiny amount of bland "BBQ pork", in my opinion that can't count as true fried rice. The lemon chicken was crispy but the sauce was bland and just added calories instead of flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was pretty good! Crispy chicken like the lemon chicken but the sauce was much better! Delivery and phone service guys were great, prompt and 5 star. But the food leaves much to be desired. read more
