Excellent restaurant on all points : - concept (mix of Chinese/Indian/SouthEast Asian Cuisine) - Decoration - service (very respectful and nice) and food !!! I celebrated my birthday in this restaurant and because I'm not a cake person, I asked to add a candle on my sliced Lamb Massaman and they did it with a smile without arguing. It was my first Birthday Lamb ! What an experience because that lamb was awesome ! (Candle apart). My best restaurant experience in New Jersey so far ! read more

This is our fav spot for Indo-Chinese food. The staff was very courteous and attentive. Especially Ganesh was very helpful as we were there to place an order for catering for my sister's graduation and Mother's Day celebrations. Ganesh accommodate the food to our tasting and provided his input in food selection. We tried 2 entrees and we ended up ordering same 2 entrees for catering. Over all the food quality and customer services was top notch. read more

Absolutely love this restaurant. Do eat the lotus root appetizer and chili garlic noodles. Absolutely amazing. Ganesh's service is phenomenal as well. Must visit this restaurant. read more

I first started coming to this restaurant when it opened years ago and recently revisited after a hiatus. I was pleased to see that the restaurant has maintained its quality and taste of food. They have also upgraded the decor, and the service is pretty great. The menu is comprehensive, with many Indo-Chinese options according to taste and spice level. Because this place looks fancy yet feels casual all at once, it is a great restaurant to visit with a group of people or for a date. read more

Indo Chinese at its best. Love the food here Veg Manchow soup, veg Hakka nooodles, veg Manchurian all great. Service could have been better no smiles!! read more

Ganesha if I remember his correct name while he introduced when we entered MING; He is just Wow!! Just wanted to take a moment to compliment the service we received from Ganesha last evening at MING. While he is was super busy, the restaurant was at capacity, and he was fantastic single handed and marched his troops well! I appreciate who does a exceptional job, and he handled our table of 2 adults with a perfect display of relaxed competence. Although he gave sweet dish complementary, but I sensed very early that he amazing at the customer front... He truly deserve a raise. I will recommend 'Ming' while I go back to Florida for Great Customer Service & Well done Ganesha!! read more

For once, the NJ Monthly review was right one the money. Great find, a new style of Chinese-inspired Indian cuisine for me. I had their lamb curry dish, probably the best lamb I ever ate. Good service, very family-oriented, best to get there early before the local crowd, who know a good thing, fill up the joint. read more

Just the other day we were speaking of missing Indianised chinese food so we decided to try this place while we were at our relative's place in Phili. We drove two hours to try out this place. We enjoyed the food, it met our expectations. read more

Awesome Indo chinese food which took me back to the chinese food in Mumbai. The kung bao potatoes and shrimp were awesome. Our waiter was very good and extremely helpful. We will return for the great food. read more

We've been going here for years and it is our favorite Indo-Chinese restaurant. The soups are great, there are lots of delicious vegetarian options and the service is always above and beyond. We always get the Coriander Soup and Vegetable Manchurian, but our favorite is the Lotus Root appetizer. We've never had a bad meal at Ming, it's our go-to place when we have visitors from out of town! read more

Dinner yesterday was very disappointing. Yesterday was our 2nd time there. We ordered the assorted crispy vegetables and cauliflower Manchurian for appetizers. Manchurian was average and the vegetables were old and not crispy at all. Also, they put celery in literally everything. For main course we ordered the clay pot vegetables (which were just regular vegetables and didn't come in a clay pot). We also got chili paneer which was the only decent thing they had. We also ordered schezuan fried rice and chili garlic noodles which were both average. My daughter has food allergies and got sick after eating even though they said there was nothing she was allergic to in it. Service wasn't great either. Portions were very small for the amount they charge. Overall, pretty bad experience. Would not recommend read more

So let me start off this review by addressing some of the more negative reviews below (I usually don't do this but it has to be said in this instance). Ming is an *Indian* Asian restaurant, mainly focusing on Indian Chinese. Complaining that the food isn't authentic Chinese/Thai is like going to a Korean restaurant and complaining that the kimchi doesn't taste like sauerkraut. Get a clue people. Moving on to more important things, on my most recent trip we went with my family, my sister's family, her in-laws, and her in-laws' in-laws (ha!). We had 2 toddlers with us and our group was about 15 people. The staff was very kind and patient with us. They accommodated the children very easily and were okay with a 15+ minute wait (after seating us) for some of our party to show up. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable about the menu and steered us towards great recommendations on items we hadn't tried before at Ming. The food itself is phenomenal. I'm a Pakistani and I grew up in Dubai so I know good Indian Chinese food when I eat it... and this is great Indian Chinese. - The Drums of Heaven (frenched chicken wing "lollipops, one of my favorite appetizers, was done very well here with the chicken wings being perfectly spiced and were almost chin-drippingly juicy. - The Spicy Coriander soup was a refreshing change from the usual drudgery of gloppy cornstarched soups you get. - We were given a complimentary appetizer of Papaya Salad which was another cool hit before we got our mains (I would've like it spicier but that was more due to a few people at our table requesting medium spicy food). - Shrimp In Black Pepper Sauce had a great back-of-your-throat heat that complimented the sweetness of the shrimp. - Chicken Hakka Style is one of the quintessential examples of great Indian and Chinese fusion dishes and Ming did not disappoint in this case either. - Chili Duck might be my second favorite duck preparation after the Roast Ducks you can get in Chinatown. - Shredded Lamb in Szechwan Sauce was perfectly cooked without even a hint of "gamey" flavor from the lamb. - Even though it wasn't on the menu, the staff was willing to work with us to prepare a vegetable side-dish of Bok Choy in Oyster Sauce. Expertly prepared with perfect texture and a great garlicky taste. - The Vegetable Fried Rice and Vegetable Hakka Noodles took me back to my childhood in Dubai and I would've gladly eaten them without any accompanying main dishes. - Finally, the desserts were many and I'm just too tired to go over them now, haha. It suffices to say that you should get a doggy-bag if that's the only way to save room for dessert. I know it's a long review but I hope I've convinced you to give this gem of a restaurant a try, thanks! read more

My family and I have been going here for years, the food has been good in the past but the quality of it has severely decreased in the past few years. The food had become bland and the waiters are extremely slow and rude and seem untrained. They served the soup 15 minutes after ordering and then we waited half an hour for the rest of the appetizers and entrees. We finally got it after we repetitively asked the waiter where our food was. After we got the food my cousin found an eggshell in the Hakka noodles. For the price that the food was the quantity was not enough. We are extremely unhappy with our experience today and we probably won't come back. I only left a star because I couldn't leave no stars. read more

Beautiful place! Had a lovely dinner here last Saturday. Our waiter Ganesh was so polite and made our meal that much better. Great food, we come here regularly and have never been disappointed. Beyond excellent service. If you go here you gotta order the lotus root and the cauliflower manchurian. Overall: great food, great location, amazing service, just really excellent all around read more

A great indo chinese, vegetarian friendly, and amazing service. Their soups are fresh and served hot- I love the hot and sour. As for their menu, they have so many delectable options on the menu. My favorites have been the manchurian, chili chicken/fish, and any type of noodle. They know what good food is. read more

Not impressed. I've been to Ming twice and both times I have suffered the consequences for MANY DAYS after the experience. Tears my stomach apart and that's after ordering the "least fried" and offensive food on the menu. Everything is just so heavy there- heavy sauces, creams, deep fried -- good food doesn't need to be masked in fat, oil, lard and cream. Chicken was of poor quality and fatty as well, which made the high prices even less justifiable. I could get similar cuisine in NYC for half the price and it would taste 10xs better, which is appalling because this is in a strip mall in Edison, NJ. The restaurant itself is cold and drafty in the winter- the room we had reserved in the front was extremely cold. The only positive about this place was the service- really, really nice and attentive staff. If you don't live in Edison, my advice to you would be - don't go! read more

Overpriced and overrated food. Service is average at best, the hostess was the most active of the staff. The best food was the complimentary cabbage-vinegar salad at the beginning. Otherwise... the crispy lotus stems were ok, but not as tangy or crispy as Nanking. The spring rolls were middle-of the road, sauce tasteless. Lemon Coriander soup was ok. The noodles- our table ordered hakka and chili garlic- were tasteless and about the quality of cup-of-soup. $92 for 4 people with no alcohol and no standout dishes. Sodas 3.50 and mocktails- $5. Apps around $8, entrees from about $14-20. Nanking, esp the Jersey City location, has equally blase service but the food is way better. read more

Great food and excellent service! Kid friendly place. Ganesha took wonderful care of us.

The food here is pretty good, a strange mix of chinese and a slight hint of indian. The ambiance is nice and somewhat fancy. However, the food is expensive, probably overpriced by a few dollars for every entree, and they charge an arm and a leg for rice. Your entrees don't come with rice, and who doesn't want to eat their chinese food with rice? It's highway robbery I tell you. The hakka style dishes are excellent. It's also BYOB. read more

Really good food. Amazing recommendations by server Ganesh!! Lava cake is to die for.

Amazing food, great service. I've been going there for the better part of the decade it never let me down.. try the lotus root app

Yesterday my husband and I went for a quiet dinner in Ming. I heard about the restaurant before and yesterday when went there, both of us were so happy to choose that particular restaurant. Food was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. My special thanks to our waiter Ganesh, for recommending us some fabulous dishes. I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. read more

Indo-chinese food rocks. Ming has mastered it. If you don't know what Indo-Chinese is, then you must go find out.

Visited yesterday night. Horrible service and terrible food. The men's bathroom had a huge puddle that you had to go through to get to the toilet. Chicken is just added to a sauce. Save your money and find a Chinese take out spot. read more

Best Indian Asian food I have ever eaten! Every time I am in New Jersey, I try to make a trip to this lovely restaurant. The food is excellent and there is a good variety of items on the menu. Some must haves are hot and sour soup, garlic noodles, chili paneer and Ming fried rice. But all the food is good and very fresh. Wish there was a Ming in the west coast! read more

The place was nice food was good we had really good time specially thanx to Ganesh he was very helpful explaining the food excellent service thank you read more

We ordered cauliflower manchurian which seemed it was warmed up ina microwave. Spring rolls had a weird smell and were bland. The fried rice and eggplant in schezwan sauce were ok, nothing great. The chili garlic noodles were the only saving grace. The servers are very lethargic. I would not recommend this. There are many other options for indo Chinese! read more

Great service and excellent food like always, hands down the best indo-Chinese restaurant in the Tri-state. Great Service + great food = awesome experience. read more

3 of us went for a celebration. The soup was billed $1 higher when split between 2. I did not see it mentioned in the menu. The Tum Yum soup was good, the hot and sour not that great. The duck entree tasted overcooked and flavorless. most of it left there. The veg noodles cost about $15 and had no exotic veg. in it. Just a few slivers of carrots, green pepper, etc. The eggplant with paneer entree seemed overcooked, had no taste of eggplant, was crunchy from the outside due to a cornstarch coating I guess. Nearly $100 with your own wine for 3 people and no desert is expensive for a mostly veg. meal for 3. Especially when it is made with cheap ingredients and have to buy the rice. Wonder why folks come here. I have had better tasting and fresher food at half the price elsewhere. read more

Worst service I've ever endured. I've worked as a server and a hostess before and this is the most unorganized and incompetent waitstaff I've ever seen. The food was tasteless and we had to ask for water, plates, silverware, and napkins multiple times. If I could give this place zero stars I would. read more

Multiple people had recommended this place for good "Chindian" food. However, there was nothing spectacular about this place. The food was just ok. Nothing special. And I couldn't believe that with what they charge for each dish (almost $20), they don't include even white rice! I guess it's so that they could charge $6 for a simple bowl. Service was mediocre at best. The one good thing I can say is that their Cassata ice-cream was very nice. It had crushed nuts on the outside with three flavors of ice-cream. Also, beware that they close at 3 pm between lunch and dinner. Overall, disappointed with what I had heard about this place. read more

Enjoyed the food in the past, was quite disappointed the last time. And oh this is not a bargain place. Off our list now.

With Ming, my husband and I have added a new go - to restaurant to our list. The food was great - certainly the best Indian Chinese I have had so far in the US. And I know good Indian Chinese (being familiar with the amazing Indian Chinese offered by the streets of Mumbai). My favorite was the coriander soup. Second favorite was the chili garlic noodles - spicy and really good! The cauliflower manchurian was crisp and had the right flavor. The cassata ice- cream was yummy! The staff was great- our waiter was attentive and engaging. He even served dessert on the house when he found out this was our first time at Ming! The ambiance is good - you can go there with you family, friends or a nice, romantic evening. Suffice to say, we left the restaurant with us and our taste buds smiling. I think we're going back soon! read more

Best Chinese food in New Jersey. Went again for the fourth time this month. Food quality excellent as usual. Ganesh waited on us this time. Very professional and friendly waiter made the experience even better read more

I SWEAR WILL NEVER GO TO MING AGAIN. Used to be one of my favorites but not any more :( Saw a HUGE BUG (COCKROACH types) in their complimentary salad which they give in the beginning after order. Rushed out of the place, its sick. It was a Sunday evening & what a way to welcome anyone! Showed the bug to the manager, he apologized for it. Just rushed out of the restaurant then with family then & will never go back there. SO BE AWARE OF MING BUGS folks, could be in ur salads/soups/curry anywhere. read more

I was in Edison 2 weeks ago on a saturday and I went there had lunch. This place is definitely top-notch in terms of food quality and taste. Probably one of the best Indo-Chinese food in North America. Service is iffy (we were there on a day where there was not much by the way of crowd) and you have to do the Indian style of waving your hands to get attention. If they can fix the service issues they will do much better. Place is a very safe bet for vegetarians. read more

Best Indian/Chinese fusion I've ever had. Get the chicken wing appetizer they call Drums Of Heaven...they're absolutely awesome and worth the trip alone. This is also a good place to bring someone to slowly introduce them to Indian food, because most dishes have more Chinese influence than Indian. The combo though, when done right, is delicious. Ming does it right. read more
