Visited Pan Asia in Lacey for the Monday all you can eat sushi, for $28.95. Nice concept, but there are some rules... and the sushi was just ok. It's a concept of all you can eat, soup, salad, 2 rolls of your choice, at one time, nigiri, and either ice cream or sherbert. We ordered an appetizer from the main menu, the rangoon, was good. Now lunch was from the special all you can eat menu Monday menu, which is different than the full restaurant menu. There are a couple of special rolls on there. I tried the shrimp tempura roll, which I've never seen shrimp tempura look like a fish stick style, no shrimp tail at all, very odd. The rolls were prepared larger in size, I guess to get you full, or to not get you to follow one of their rules. So you must eat all of the sushi even the rice, you can't eat out the middle, even if you don't like it, before you can be served another option of the all you can eat items. The waitress literally pointed which sushi my guest didn't eat, as they went to order another option. Mind you, both of our rolls came on one plate, as if we were sharing. We did not like the fatty tuna with scallions, it was dry and very fishy. The spicy tuna which most places serve minced was more whole pieces, very different. Different is good, when it's flavorful, but this was missing it's punch. The kami salad was layered which was nice, but too much spicy mayo for the ratio, ask for your sauce on the side so you can mix it, since you mix it yourself anyway. The cucumber came layered under the crab, and the sauce on top, I actually liked that. The teas and soups were good, Dragon roll was my favorite, it was the shrimp tempura and salmon mixed. I got the General Tsao's tofu and it was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp and vegetables which he enjoyed. I love the fact that they sell fresh fried noodles or actually they gave them to me... Like you get in Chinese restaurants. The chips at the start are amazing. Me and my family have been going for YEARS. We love it and recommend this for other places. The workers are really nice and the place is nice and decorated. But, the music can get a bit repetitive, but it's ok. Would recommend. read more

Long time lunch eat in customers and food has ALWAYS been great. Today I stopped in to get take out - quart of wonton soup. Same waitress (Mandy) who personally went and got the soup to go. Got home, not one wonton in the quart, just slimy pieces of noodles and a few small pieces of meat. Called Mandy and she made like she didn't understand our complain. POOR/BAD MANAGEMENT Decisions Our group has been going to PanAsia since before hurricane Sandy s several times a year which most would consider we were good patrons of this establishment. Managment knew us well enough to pretty much know what we would be ordering other than me. Ribs one time maybe Mongolian beef another she knew us well enough to kid saying, you always a problem" and we'd laugh it off. Our last outing I decided to have the Hunan orange peel shrimp dinner/w / white rice which was rather delicious... TIL....... after putting some of the sauce from my diner into the white rice/ on the 3rd or 4th fork of the rice {yes i still can't use the chopsticks}as i lifted my fork tHAIR (there) it was something hanging from one prong of the fork down to clump of the rice back up over another prong back down dangling was the end of the hair including the hair follicle. I sat tHAIR (there) like that for nearly 5 mins with elbow on the table ( yep bad table manners) waiting for the manager to come over Finally she does and asks ---what's wrong. 1st I told her what little I ate was rather delicious that the broccoli around the edge of the plate was ice cold like it just came out of the refrigerator And btw...tHAIR (there) is this Hair on my fork, which I have to think by this point she has to have seen it or she needs glasses. She takes the fork with the clump of rice swinging from the hair walks it to the other end of the table starts to say it's not from HAIR (here) our workers sHAIR (wear) hair nets She keeps it up even looking at my wife who is sitting on the opposite corner opposite side of the table insinuating it was possible my wife's hair , after a little back and forth of wHAIR (where) it may have come from her solution was saying,,, His half off, ///we had had enough,,, 1st bad mistake was to imply we would pull the old hair in the soup trick to get a meal.. after being tHAIR (their) patron for this long was wrong 2nd bad mistake when we got the bill she discounted my meal by $5 dollars. apparently, she can't do basic math don't want anyone to think i m splitting hairs between $5 ... to $8.50.. but yep.. sooo I went to the cashier counter asked her if she was sure the bill was correct n she said Yes I said,, "not more than 5 mins ago you said his half off,, she just a bit snarky with me, Yep I had had it. I said Do you HAIR(hear) yourself, 3rd bad mistake when the table behind wHAIR(where) we were sitting said should be no big deal it was only a hair. If they want to eat something that's not on the menu be our guests better still be guest at PanAsia 4th bad mistake while we wHAIR(were) paying the bill she said she was going to take an additional $5 off.... al little to little and way to late. she was told. she now gets more snarky.. I could no longer stand back from the person who was handling the bill I let her have it I apologize for my bad behavior but people who wHAIR(were) eating tHAIR (their) food needed to be-a-HAIR (beaware) of what lurks in tHAIR(their) food. Food was good, our server, whose name was MANDY Was rude, annoyed, and condescending. She has been working there for quite a while, but she was never as bad as she was tonight. One couple actually got up and walked out, they could not take her attitude. As long as she is working there, we will not go back, and I am suggesting you do the same, the food isn't that great to take her poor attitude, and disrespect.... an example would be I asked her for a straw, and she literally threw them on the table. Ok let's start with the good; The food was ok AT BEST, the prices aren't too bad. Now the bad; The service is quite possibly the worst I've ever seen and or experienced in my life. First of all we called ahead for a party of 8 they said there was no wait but we get there and have to wait 15 minutes to be seated. Mind you we saw Pan Asia across the street from Applebees that had a 45 min wait so we called them and were told come now. Then we sat at the table for 28 minutes before even getting our orders taken. We order drinks (7 waters and 1 sprite) and then ask for straws. The server instead of just giving us a handful of straws insists on walking around the table and asking each person if they want a straw. Like 1 wasted straw would cause the business to collapse smh. So 1 person ordered sushi which now I'm watching finished and on the sushi counter for about 10 minutes while my server aimlessly walks around the restaurant and when I asked another server if that was ours and could have it shrugs her shoulders and walks away. Till I got up and grabbed my own food and give to the member of my party who ordered it. So at this point my party and I are discussing paying for the sushi, 1 sprite and leaving. Literally while my wife was on the phone with Applebees to see if the wait has calmed down in the hour we've been in Pan Asia when our food comes out. Mind you no silverware was provided til we asked for them. Asking for chopsticks for me and my daughter was even stressful. Oh and the most frustrating part is the Automatic 20% gratuity included in EVERY dine in customer (not even just for parties over 6) and the ADDITIONAL 2.4% for all card purchases. Which says to me you know your service is dogs**t so if you didn't automatically charge people 20% your servers would not make a dime. Oh and I have to say my favorite part is watching every other person being given a hot towel with the bill but not getting a hot towel for myself and my party along with the bill. Really good way to add a bit of insult to crappy injury. BEST PART OF THE REVIEW; Knowing because I live over 1 hour away I will never return here again. read more

Me and my husband order take out here regularly and the food is great but today we went with our friend and sat down and when I say the customer service was awful i mean it. They shoved us in the far corner right off the bat, the waitress was punctual about putting in an order, but then we didnt hear from her for 50 minutes after and yes it was 50 minutes she brought out dumplings and sushi and left the dumplings plate there after dinner plates were brought out 50 MINUTES LATER with 2 empty drinks and 2 empty plates. Within that 50 minutes i tried to flag her down multiple times but she was too busy talking to other customers. Everyone in the place whether they were there before or after us had their food 20 minutes before he FINALLY got ours. You would be better off at crapplebees across the street! This place never fails to be amazing! I love the sumo roll and every appetizer on the menu! The basil beef is also outstanding! Had been going there since we Moved in the area 5 years ago. Food is good, one of the better Asian restaurants in the area but went there 2 days ago and experienced the restaurant excuse to make more of a profit. Charging 3.5% for a credit card AND an ATM card (which I thought was considered a cash transaction). They also automatically add a 20% gratuity irregardless of the # in the party (we were only 2). I'm getting tired of using this as an excuse. I support our businesses and restaurants and have throughout the pandemic and if there is a need to raise prices do so but stop with these add ones. I also almost always tip 20% based on service but our server who was the only one waiting tables, was far from pleasant and did not deserve 10%. I certainly won't be going back to dine in, possibly take out to a avoid a 20% add on for a cranky server. read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Food was not worth the terrible treatment. I will not be returning. Food was brought out, we started to eat it and I realized I didn't get what I ordered so I stopped eating my food and I asked the manager walking by if my food was coming out? She stated that they made a mistake and wrong food was given , but that she would fix it, leaving the rest of the food at the table. When we were ready to check out, I noticed that I was charged for the food that was given to us by mistake, when I asked about it the manager cam over and said oh well you started to eat some of it so we charged you for it . I explained to her that it was her mistake not mine and we didn't finish it. It was left at the table. The manager became very angry and said well you ate this so you should pay for it . I stated it was not my mistake. It was your mistake and we stopped eating the food in anticipation of getting our food. The manager took the bill, but came back this time adding gratuity to the bill . I asked her to take it off. She stated you have to leave a tip. I stated to her gratuity is something I choose .I make a choice what I will, pay not you . I asked her to take it off of the bill . She was very angry and eventually fixed it. When it came time for her to give the check back she asked another waitress to bring it to our table because she did not want to come back to our table . They have zero help, the 2 servers were running around frantically and I kept getting wiffes of extremely potent cleaning agents the entire time. Excellent food! Made to order, always fresh! A little on the pricey side but well worth it. Their sushi is delicious. I would give the service three stars because they are very slow. Waited 40 minutes for three rolls. And their soda always tastes flat. But again, worth it, the food is amazing. Went again today, 3/16/19. I cant believe the service in this place. One table in there and they were done. It took 15 minutes for the waitress to come over and even take our order. And after we got our food, she never came back again. My husband never even got his drink. If it wasn't for the lady at the sushi bar that made our sushi, I would've left no tip at all. We will never return here again. But I think this one can use some improvement...critical feedback. I ordered for take out on a Friday and was told 50 minutes which I though was as a little extreme but it was Friday so I understand. I showed up at the 45 min and paid my bill and was told there are finishing up my order and it will be a short bit. After 20 mins thereafter I heard the same speech to every patron that came in after me...including myself where I was reassured I was up next. Now I know it was not the gentleman's fault up front and I know he was trying his best to deal with the situation; reason why I did not take it out in him. However, I was quite annoyed that I did not get my food until 80 mins. Now, I got my food and I was simply happy to take my food home to the family. And since I saw the turn over given I waited for 80 mins I assume my sushi was going to be fresh. However, after 5 min ride home and set the table and opened all the food....I was dissatisfied with the $100 worth of sushi and sashimi that I had in front of me. Not only were the sashimi small sliced the fish was not fresh. I had the combo and multiple rolls and everything seem to have a salty and slight fishy taste. Call it what it is...it's sushi but I have been eating sushi and sashimi for 20 years, even eating freshly caught and I know what fresh fish taste like...what I received in my take home was definitely not fresh. I am not a regular here by any means but I am a local and they may had a bad day so I will give the the respect that they can live up to other reviews that praise them but I had a really bad experience and I will probably not go back as there are better sushi restaurants within a few miles. read more

My wife and I went here for a quick dinner last week and were blown away by the unprofessionalism of our waitress, Mandy. Won't be back.

I went here with a group. We started off with an assortment of appetizers. The steak on a stick was so tender and the sauce on it was delicious. The fried dumplings were great and the dipping sauce was super. The chicken satay was juicy and great and had a fresh peanut sauce with it which complimented it well. The gyoza soup was and explosion of goodness in my mouth. For dinners we had an assortment of sushi which was all very good. I had the Szechuan beef which was not overly spicy but had enough heat to make my nose run. Others in the group had the classic general tsos and teriyaki steak which all where very good. The best part, which I feel really separates this place from other Asian places, is all the sauces had unique flavors. They didn't Taste similar, they all seemed freshly prepared. I eat here often and have never been disappointed. The food is always delicious whether I get sushi or an entree dish. Sushi is always fresh. Service is always good. Some favorite rolls are the godzilla roll, volcano roll, and dragon rolls. Their Chinese food is also amazing. They have probably the best ginger dressing for their salad that I've yet to taste. Just tried the salmon poke bowl for the first time and it was amazing. Yes it can be pricy for Chinese food but it's fresh and much better quality than your average Chinese take out. read more

It appears to be a step up from your typical Chinese restaurant since it is not in a strip mall and has indoor seating but don't be fooled. The food is awful. Vegetables and rice are typically undercooked. Woman at the cash register reminds me of the soup nazi on Seinfeld. Oh, and don't fall for the "authentic Chinese" BS. YUM! I love this place, and it's right around the corner from me so how great is that?! I have always gotten take out here, every time I go to pick it up, they are ALWAYS busy, which is great for them and you know the food is good if they are always busy Their sushi is great. Always fresh. Although they did mess up on my sushi order last time (ordered a spicy tuna roll with crunch added, it's a small roll) they gave me a big tuna roll that was double the price but damn, it was good! A mistake well made bc now I order it every time I try to get something different every time I get take out and everything is always great and fresh. Latest was the orange peel chicken. Yum yum yum. Have been going to this place for years as we live very close by. Needless to say, my family will never go back there again. Went to the Lacey location a couple of weeks ago and got stuck with the most nasty, miserable waitress "Mandy" - she must be a relative of the owner or she would have certainly been fired by now. Noticed there are no other wait staff now, they apparently have all quit, there are always signs in the window saying help wanted. My son and I sat down and were ignored for a good 20 minutes when the place was practically empty. When she finally came to take our order we could sense that she was in an extremely bad mood. I ordered my food and she said "what else" and I said that's it. She angrily stated "you're not telling me anything" without stating what else comes with the meal. I felt extremely uncomfortable and would have walked out if I didn't feel like I was going to faint from hunger. I finally realized that she was wanting to know what kind of rice and soup I wanted with the food - she should have kindly prompted me. She angrily brought the food to the table (without the extra duck sauce I asked for - I was too afraid to ask again!) Last time I was there I had asked for more (extra) and she asked for my cup that was half full to refill it (reluctantly). God forbid you ask for anything extra or chop sticks - if they can't afford these items they shouldn't be in business. She ruined our entire meal - we go out to eat to enjoy ourselves and have a good time but NEVER AGAIN!!! We were so stressed out when we left that place. Looking to try a new place in the area and being limited to where I can park, I decided to grab some Chinese. The decor reminds me of PF Chang as it has a modern sit down feel. feel The menu is of a Asian fusion variety. It has a Chinese lunch menu that includes all the usual suspects and a Japanese lunch menu that includes bento boxes. The prices are great for the lunch specials, I can't speak for the non lunch menu. The wonton soup was nothing special. It has flavor, but nothing overly memorable that would make me order it on its own. The General Tso was delicious. The chicken was crispy and the sauce wasn't watery. The sauce had a good mix of sweet and spice. I will certainly come back next time I'm in the area and craving Asian. read more
