Xina provided the best meal of our vacation in Toms River. Highlights included Miso halibut, jumbo lobster tail (shareable), avocado roll, orange beef, and out of control roll. Mike B provided excellent service for our group of nine on a busy night for the restaurant. read more

Service is very considerate for my last minute party of 6! While there were no tables available, management allowed us to use an originally reserved table for limited time! My group didn't wait long to eat and didn't eat fast to beat the time to leave. Rather, we enjoyed our dishes! As an Asian Californian, I was skeptical of the bacon, American cheese, and cabbage fried rice but took the challenge. It am impressively full of flavor and crunchiness. While tasting legit Chinese fried rice with American breakfast saltiness! It didn't taste cheese but rather balanced with fried and over easy egg. The small restaurant is great for big parties, yet I recommend reserving in advance! It's nice to see the coast without paying for a fancy expensive restaurant. I would go again with friends, just not myself. I am respect the cultural mix of flavors! read more

I have been coming to Xina for years and have never had a bad experience. They have a beautiful dining area and sushi bar, but since it was a holiday weekend, we opted for take-out. Pick up was quick and easy! I had my favorite coconut shrimp roll and tried the new special "tuna noir" roll. I love that they allowed the option to have tobiko on top or upgrade to caviar. Both rolls were delicious, and my boyfriend enjoyed his favorite bacon egg and cheese fried rice. read more

My favorite restaurant - Xina! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and elevated, but the real showstopper is the water view. Sitting by the windows overlooking the bay made the entire experience feel special and relaxing. The food was absolutely incredible. The portions are always generous (you'll definitely have leftovers!), and everything was packed with flavor. The pork fried rice was perfectly seasoned and hearty, the chicken lettuce wraps were fresh, crisp, and so flavorful, and we also ordered a gluten-free steamed chicken and vegetable option that was simple, clean, and delicious. It's always such a plus to find a place that can accommodate gluten-free options without sacrificing taste. Between the beautiful waterfront setting, great service, and standout dishes, Xina is such a gem in Toms River. read more

Again this review is late, I apologize. We went here for our anniversary on March 27, you definitely have to make reservations at least a week in advance and in the summer you better make it two weeks. We got there around six and the place was packed. They're also filling an extremely large amount of takeout orders. Something that you should know upfront: the entrées are very large so you're gonna be taking food home. What I like is they don't make you do it they pack it up really nice for you . You probably can share, I'm assuming they don't want you to know that. My wife was annoyed by not knowing that upfront. She also didn't like our server that much. I apologize I can't remember her name. I thought the woman was excellent, very attentive and very friendly. My wife also didn't think her entrée was that great. Which was a beef and vegetable dish with white rice. She thought the place was overpriced Chinese food which I say is not true. This past weekend I had Chinese with her from a local place in Matawan and it was not anywhere near as good as Xina. She said it was kind of ordinary, but I tried some of it and it was delicious! I had the beef Bulgogi with the kimchi fried rice, absolutely amazing! Don't get this if you don't like the little bit of heat that comes from jalapeños and Kimchi. We also shared what I think the Out of Control roll, absolutely incredible. We also shared edamame which was excellent. I'm pretty sure this place is also BYOB so there are advantages to that. There is a back way into this place off Fischer Boulevard, which is easier than the way I came down Rt 37. iIt's a very lively atmosphere. I'll definitely be back probably with someone else! I am so sorry I was so distracted I forgot to get photos of the food! Trust me everything looks beyond delicious presentation is excellent! Don't even think twice about coming here to eat I want to try the other location too read more

My daughter made reservations for Friday night dinner. Party of 4. We ran into friends at the bar! My daughter reminded me that we actually ordered take from the first week we moved to Toms River. What amazing feel good vibes from our Server Dave!! Dave was fantastic! He checked in on us, cleared the table, replenished our water and poured our wine. BYOB Can I request Dave be our server when we come back ?? Food was yummy! Love the ginger salad, spicy rock & tempura shrimp and the veggie Lo Mein. Parking on site. Constant flow of customers. Notice lots of take out orders too. Right near the bay! Highly recommend. My leftover next day were awesome!! read more

Our entire experience was outstanding. While this was my wife and my 1st experience here our friends who brought us here had been here before. However. Kudos to our server Samantha, who assisted us with navigating the menu; brought samples of the sauces so we could determine the palatability of the "heat" and then recommend appropriate entrees. It was a fabulous and delicious evening. Portions are huge... so judge appetizers accordingly. But even so... we shared the cheese cake dessert. Couldn't resist. Reservations are needed. Ambiance is great and improves after sundown as the bridge to seaside is illuminated. But the food. Delightful. We will be back. read more

Always delicious food and an amazing service staff. Xina never disappoints !!! XO noodles, General TSOs, and Shrimp in Lobster Sauce our standard order. However, beef bulgogi was the standout tonight! read more

Great food and service. Large portions to take home. Had the bacon, egg & cheese fried rice. You wouldn't think it would go with fried rice, but it does. Sushi was good too!! One roll(specialty of the night) & the rice was very filling. If you're lucky enough to sit by the window and see the bay, it's a plus. Open for lunch & dinner. Usually don't need reservations for lunch. Definitely need reservations for dinner. read more

Ok to start this place had a bad outside but dont judge a book by its cover as i went inside i expected a regular restaurant since it is 4.3 stars at the time i am writing this but when i went inside everywhere was full and i got to sit at the bar (not alcoholic bar) the sushi bar ok then my waiter super kind came within 5 mins and we ordered the Shishito Peppers were amazingly seasoned. And the House Ginger Salad was also good. The Everything Bagel Roll was very good and excellent and the grand order the Kobe Beef Ishiyaki which had waygu beef was amazing the only downside is that nearing the end of cooking the waygu the fire got strong and hurt my hands but it wasn't too bad to complain and it also cooked to fast at the end. Overall I 100% will recommend this fine Establishment. read more

Heard great reviews and Xina truly didn't disappoint! The sushi tasted so fresh and delicious, as did the rest of the dishes. The lamp chops were cooked perfectly and the sauce they were in was 10/10. The star of the show was the milk pie, which I'd highly recommend! The server was extremely attentive and friendly, as well as the owners who came around to check in. I only wish it were closer to me! read more

I was so excited to visit Xina and the food didn't disappoint. Started with yellowtail sashimi, which was two pieces, both about an inch thick, and they melted in your mouth. So delicious - I wish I grabbed a photo because it was my favorite bite of the night. We also had steamed shiitake and chicken dumplings which were flavorful and had a good chew. For my main I had the banzai roll and spicy tuna roll. The banzai roll was fantastic and while I enjoyed the spicy tuna roll, I found the seaweed wrapping on the inside a bit tough. I think next time I'd sub spicy tuna and maybe try the crispy rice topped with tuna instead. My husband throughly enjoyed the bacon egg and cheese fried rice. We went for dinner and I wish they had dimmed the lights. We were also sat pretty close to two other couples because it was packed and we were a table of two. It made it feel like more of a lunch rather than dinner. Service was friendly and quick though! read more

I really love this place in TOMS RIVER. Twelve of us go for our annual "End of Winter" lunch to kick off the next season. It's a Sunday, before summer season, but the place is still alive and with customers! Why? Because their Asian bistro food is great, and their sushi bar is fabulous! Something for everyone in our party. I have to add that their amaebi (sweet shrimp) is delicious with the added feature of a lightly fried and crispy head (top of body). I know that's not for everyone, but for me and a few others, it's the mark of perfection. read more

Was fantastic when it first opened. Food and services have gone down hill the last couple of years.

Xina will brilliant. I am vegan, and haven't had much luck when i visit New Jersey, but was pleasantly surprised when I went to Xina with my mother. When we arrived the restaurant was packed and we were told that the wait would be 30 minutes. We were walked over to where we could sit down and we started chatting and within 10 minutes we were seated at the bar. The owner stopped by and offer my mother a glass of wine, which she declined, and then we placed our order. I started with a (very generous) salad, and then my main was the Pad Thai with Tofu, and my mother had the Miso Glazed Salmon. Both meals were delicious, and the portion size was enormous. I had a full lunch the following day with my leftovers. The wait staff were very attentive, but not intrusive, and the evening was lovely. I don't hesitate to give Xina high marks. Next time I am in New Jersey I will certainly return. read more

Hitting Xina on our last night in town was a must. A full house on a Tuesday night in the off season tells you just how good this BYOB place can be. The interior is bright & clean, with seating available at the sushi bar or dining room. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. Our server Abdul greeted us warmly and opened the beverages that we brought. We all ordered house ginger salads. The ginger dressing is to die for. The salads are huge and can easily serve 2 people. For entrees, we ordered our favorite walnut shrimp. The dish comes with 10 lightly fried jumbo shrimp tossed in a grand marnier honey sauce with candied walnuts and strawberries. Our second dish was a first....a delicious Korean beef bulgogi. Thinly shaved korean soy marinated beef served over spicy kimchi jalapeno fried rice. I would highly recommend either of these dishes. We finished our meal with a decadent custard milk pie a la mode. Lastly, a shout out to our server Abdul, who treated us like royalty. Xina recently opened a second location in Monmouth County for those interested in staying closer to home. read more

First time here, came for birthday dinner it was absolutely delicious did not disappoint. I did read reviews prior and they were on point. The food was delicious, our server Katie was so good, friendly and knowledgeable. The interior was so pretty. One thing I will state, as for their fried rice, it's more like just rice as you see from the vegetables rice, and we had the bacon egg cheese fried rice it's definitely missing the fried aspect so I will only call it rice, but it's still delicious Will be back actually going in October to their new location. read more

The most delicious stop over on our way down to AC. Reservations seem to be a must because the place is packed, and rightfully so. The food - oysters, sushi, and Chinese - is delicious and a great combination. The portions are also generous, ingredients fresh, and the food comes out fast! BYO to start. I would absolutely recommend every item we ordered, which is pretty rare! - Got oysters and clams, which were sweet and briny fresh! - The crispy rice was yum! - The fried calamari salad had the most gentle yet flavorful dressing including fresh greens. The calamari was fried to perfection - still soft. - The chicken mushu was a huge portion with extra pancakes when requested. Not overly sweet at all with right the amount of crunch. - The xo noodles had a wonderful chewiness. If you like chewy Korean rice cakes or chowfun, you'll love this decision. - We ordered four kinds of sushi rolls, and they were all huge, fresh, and flavorful! I especially liked the Chilean sea bass roll. Unfortunately we were too full to consider a dessert (next time), but the menu looked mouth watering. Loved the decor, and the service was impeccable, from beginning to end. I would absolutely recommend for a solid sushi/oyster/chinese fix! read more

Afterwards we ordered entrees of Orange Beef, Tokyo Run Special of Chicken & Beef, Chicken Lomein and Fried Rice with Calamri...Shrimp with Siracha sauce.. All were also delicious . The food is amazing, once you've eaten here, no other Asian cuisine will do. The service is tip top, the wait staff is very attentive. Just make sure you have a reservation, BYOB and enjoy the best. On a busy Friday night I came in with my elderly mother who used a walker. The hostess (though super busy) assisted my mom to the ladies room and was quickly able to accommodate us. Frequently made sure we had all we needed. She helped make mom's night who hasn't been out in a while due to decline in health. Once again, huge thanks to you. read more
