I'm rounding the Chinese restaurants again and once again Liu's falls short. I got a pint of fried rice - boring, flavorless. I got a PuPu platter so I could try a bunch of apps.... I didn't like the flavor of the spare ribs it was strange, beef on a stick was bland, shrimp toast was meh, cheese wantons flavorless, an order of fried wontons were not crispy they are like plastic-y and flavorless. I got the tuna pizza and it was legit like a canned cat food lol but it was the overall lack of flavor in the dish that was the worst part. I like this place- the food is good and prices are unbeatable, but it always takes longer than the "20 minutes" that they tell me it'll take. And this time it was bad. Normally it takes about an extra 15, okay, whatever. Tonight I went in, they told me "sorry, another 20 minutes." I'm annoyed, I got there a half hour after I called but I guess I'll wait. I go back in after 20 minutes and guess what- still not ready! Another 20 minutes and it's finally ready... all in all it wound up being an hour after I called. So they said "sorry we're really busy." Like okay I get it but if you're busy and it's going to be an hour TELL ME THAT! I would rather you be more generous with the amount of time that it will take if it will save me 40 minutes of waiting in your parking lot. And if you're busy, I get if it takes 5-10 minutes longer than you initially told me, but if my food is going to take a whole 40 minutes longer, you knew that beforehand. read more

After our regular Chinese food joint closed down about 5 years ago (Rice King on Lanes Mill), we bounced around trying different places without finding any to our liking. We finally found Liu's and made this our spot! Food is always excellent. Fresh and hot with fantastic flavor. Love the wonton soup and the fried noodles are perfect (crispy and wide, not the healthy baked crap most places give you). They also deliver very quickly. Quite frankly, it's amazing how fast they get the food to us considering it's about a 10 minute drive. Plus, they now offer sushi! And it's quite good and fairly cheap. I have eaten here at least twice a week for the last 20 years. Their Chinese food is authentic and delicious, and is always made fresh to order. However, what I really want people to know, is that on July 3rd, they started serving Sushi with a 50% off rolls promo! Needless to say I have eaten there almost every other day to try different items. The spicy tuna roll is my favorite and it is so fresh I always want one more. I've gone here quite a few times recently, having ignored this place for a long time. Your pretty standard Chinese restaurant, albeit of higher quality than some of the others in the area. My favorite dishes thus far have been the Char Siu Ding and Ma Po Tofu, the former being a flavorful roasted pork dish with veggies and almonds, and the latter being a well made authentic chinese dish that I've come to love. Not a whole lot to say here, the prices are fairly low and the portions are large, and they're fairly quick. All said and done, a good local Chinese option, and one I'll be frequenting in the future. read more

I've been here twice recently, and I don't know why I didn't go sooner, given I live right down the street. There are plenty of options for Chinese in Brick, and Liu's Kitchen is a pretty solid choice. On one visit I ordered the Moo Shu Shrimp. They actually give you "pancakes" large enough to make a decent wrap, and thick enough to not immediately soak through. There was a good number of shrimp too. Definitely worth the price. The other time, I got cashew chicken which I was also impressed with. Not only was it flavorful and a good portion, but they didn't cheap out on the cashews either. My husband loves Chinese food. I'm very picky about it. We ordered from them twice. I like their steamed dumplings, spare ribs, and scallion pancakes.
