When I called to place an order of delivery, the gentleman who answered couldn't figure out my address (I live 3 minutes down the road). That's when I realized it was completely new people. Took about 45 minutes to get to my house, when before I didn't even have time to grab my money before they were knocking at the door. The best Chinese food I've ever had so far. I usually get boneless spare ribs with brown rice. There was hardly any fat on the pork, it wasn't drowned in BBQ sauce and the brown rice was not gritty. This pick up spot was a long long go-to for our whole family. Unfortunately the last two meals from the business have been way below par. In general, the food is not well flavored or flavorless. Cooking skills have been lost too. Chow fun noodle with pork was a pasty brick of rice pasta with I-don't-know -how-you -cooked -this pork strips. Our go to Chinese food on the Point. Service is great, very friendly and helpful. General Tso is delicious - not spicy per se but still very flavorful. The steamed dumplings had the dipping sauce in the dumpling - very a la soup dumpling. We also tried and also enjoyed the classic chicken and broccoli. Overall very positive all around. read more

They used to have great food under the old management. Had two chicken dinners tonight.General Tao's Chicken and Hunan Chicken. The General Taos chicken was not good at all. Why some people ramble on about "their experience" rather than (in this case) the food. Is beyond me. Awful. If I could give this no stars, I would. I was in the mood for Chinese food last night and checked yelp to find this place. From start to finish, this was not good. I called to order delivery and was told to hold on a minute. Instead of putting me on hold, they just put the phone down and left me waiting for five minutes while they answered a bunch of other calls. When they finally came back to me, I ordered General Tso's Chicken and cold sesame noodles. I was told it would be close to an hour for delivery, which I thought was fine. The woman answering the phone was in such a rush to get to the next person that she almost hung up on me without taking my credit card information. I was pleasantly surprised when my food arrived just a half hour later. I dug right into the General Tso's, eating about 4 pieces of chicken that were small enough to eat in one bite. It tasted a bit off to me, but I thought that might just be because I hadn't eaten Chinese food in awhile. I then went to cut a bigger piece in two and saw that the chicken was RAW in the middle. This wasn't just like a little bit undercooked. This chicken was pink and translucent. My friend is a chef and she took one look at the chicken and said, "wow, that is definitely not cooked at all." Horrified, I called Silver Lake back and told them that the food was not cooked and I wanted a refund. Mind you, I'd only eaten 5 bites of food, so it wasn't like I'd eaten a whole meal and then tried to con them into giving me free dinner. The woman told me that she had never had that happen in twenty years and she couldn't believe it, but that she would send the delivery driver over to pick up the food. They did offer to send me new food, but at this point I'd lost my appetite and didn't want to take any chances. They promised a refund and I figured that was the end of it. Truly, if this was where the story ended, I probably wouldn't have yelped it and might even have given them a second chance. But... about a half hour later, the woman called back to tell me that I was wrong and that the meal had been fully cooked and that the chicken was just "tender." I'm sorry, but NO! First, pink, translucent chicken is not tender, it is raw. Second, how dare you call a customer back to scold them about a meal that you prepared badly! I've worked in the service industry and I know that, contrary to popular belief, the customer isn't ALWAYS right. But I also know that in any business, admitting when you've made a mistake and trying to make it up to the customer is the way to go. I'm posting this terrible review because everyone at the shore should know that Silver Lake will not only deliver you uncooked food, but will yell at you if you point it out. read more

I'm not sure what happened to this place. I think there are new owners. I miss the overly friendly woman who used to be there all the time. She used to amuse my son with little trinkets or a special fortune cookie. The last few times I went, I wasn't even offered anything extra for free. (they always used to throw in extra egg rolls or cheese wonton, soup,etc.) Now, nothing. Food is extra greasy and I could barely chew the meat the other day. They also started charging for homemade sauces. (35 cents each.) If you have gone years without charging for these things why start now? This is just one of my pet peeves. I have now taken my business to Timing kitchen whose food is much more tastier and the service is a lot friendlier. I suggest you do the same. read more
