Always searching for the best Chinese. Got the Sweet and Sour Chicken lunch special. Chicken is good. Rice is boring. Wonton soup was okay. Haven't tried the egg rolls yet, shrimp toast, fried wontons and crab Rangoon was just all okay. The ribs and chicken were pretty good. They served me food on a paper plate that had been previously used by who I have no idea, it says if they pull it out of the garbage can, I did not use a knife during my eating of this plate, showed it to the lady and she tried to tell me that my forks did this there's no way in hell that this happened completely disgusting, I eat in the restaurant and they served it on a plate, she tried to prove it to me by scribing the fork into the plate. It did not make any markings. They don't even offer you a knife if you dine in the restaurant as I did for lunch, this is insane. read more

Staff are very nice. Super fast service, and the quality of the food is very consistent. It's not really a dine in establishment, but super convenient and never have had a bad experience and I've been going there for years. Also, you get a lot for your money. Horrible! They do not understand the difference between regular brown sauce and garlic sauce. Ordered shrimp and broccoli w/ garlic sauce and got just a regular shrimp and broccoli. When I got home I called back and was advised by the employee that they made it with garlic sauce. The receipt doesn't even have garlic sauce on it. Used online ordering to place an order for dinner delivery - they delivered 2 hours early. The pork fried rice was not even fried - just steamed rice with a bit of chopped pork pieces. This place used to be GREAT when Tony was around. Now that he's gone, I think the restaurant left with him. The people that work there now are not the same. The food is NOT what Chinese takeout should be. (I should know. Did I mention that I'm Chinese)The General Tso's was all breading and no chicken. The sauces are salty and lack the flavor it once had. The tofu was tough and not very good. Who ever is in charge has definitely decided to cut some corners. It's a STRONG NO! You're better off going to Silver Lake or Dim Sum 88. First time trying this place & lived in the area a while. We did take out but it's cute inside to drop in for a bite (compared to most East coast Chinese places which mainly cater to take out, out of all the ones I've been too I'd probably actually sit down here). I mean it's not PF Changs inside & I don't want mom & pop Chinese places to become that anyway. The chicken we had (Thai chx w/ sweet chili sauce & a sweet & sour chx) was all white meat which is unheard of usually. The Thai chicken had a tasty red chili sauce w/ just the right amount of heat for those who don't like a lot of heat (I say the hotter the better!) I have to have a hot & sour soup at every Chinese place I go to & prefer it w/ a darker broth but this was really good; fresh, crispy vegetables & all white meat pieces of chicken instead of the usual shredded beef. You got a choice of white or brown rice w/ the meals at NO extra charge! That's a first in my Chinese dining experience. They also have some American fare as well in case, like us, you have picky eating kids. Chicken fingers, wings & fries is what I noticed at a glance. The staff was friendly but then again we did just get take out. Also the place looked pretty tidy. I've never had a problem at other dive-y sort of take out places but this was a little better than average. Finally, the prices were about what you'd expect to pay if you've ever eaten Chinese. There are coupons on the menu & lunch specials (again, a standard at these types of places). Must be a reason they've been there so long....I would definitly go back & probably will make this my go to place since its competitor a few blocks down seems to have gone a little astray in quality as of late. read more

On my way to get to this place I pass at least three other chinese restaurants, but none of them are as good as Timing. The service is great, and the manager sometimes gives me free stuff when I order take-out! The food is great too! Timing Kitchen makes excellent food. Their customer service was excellent on phone despite it being within the last 30 minutes of closing. They arrived punctually and included extra sauce without request. I ordered: General Tso Chicken (Zuo Zong Ji Ding) was cooked perfectly. That soft and crunchy combo Meiguo Ren love! Pan Fried Wontons (Guotie) cooked perfectly. Not the easiest thing to do. I worked in Zheijiang, China for two years and these were the best "dumplings/wontons" i've had since being back on the East Coast, but of course with Chinese cooking, the magic usually comes in the sauces and spices that accompany the dish. 4 Stars for sure. 5 Stars to the Chinese Restaurant that puts some different dishes on their menu. read more

We called in for delivery for the first time and it will be our last The person who answered the phone was so hurried that she would not take our card number. When the delivery arrived the guy who brought it kept saying "Cash." over and over. He finally called in my card. I gave him a 4.00 tip on a 17.00 tab, because he was out in really bad weather. He did not even say thank you. We had the wontons in sesame sauce and they were very tough and chewy in s salty brown heavy sauce, The General Tso's Chicken was better being tender and light but nothing remarkable. The fried rice that accompanied it was very bland and flavorless but that may have been due to the fact that my taste buds were still overpowered by the salty dumpling sauce. The egg roll was just plain awful. The skin was so tough the I had to cut it in half, eat the middle and throw the ends away. My wife ordered pork lo main and she described it as lo mein less pork. It would have pleased a vegan. I realize that it was busy but that is no excuse for poor customer service and substandard food read more

Ever since Tony left it hasn't been the same. Yesterday we ordered General Tso's Chicken only to get pieces of batter served with the sauce. The chicken was practically non-existent!
