This is one tough restaurant to get too. While traveling on 37 E. when reaching the Lakehurst Road intersection keep to the right lane, goes straight and turn in as soon as you see a driveway. In the same shopping center as Nick's produce and the Miracle Pub. Nick's has the freshest breads at 10am each day. It feels like a store in Hell's Kitchen, NY. Very good Asian market. The food quality is very good and affordable at Golden Dragon. Portions are hearty. Very good ribs and I like their shrimp and Chinese eggplant. You will not find duck here sadly, I think they would make it great. We have take out nearly once a week from here. Make sure if they are using white meat or dark meat chicken - my wife assumed a dish had breast, it was mostly thigh - I ended up eating it. Good fried rices too. read more

Very good typical Chinese food. Lo mein and general tso tofu had a lot of flavor. I like that they have vegetable eggrolls with no pork in it. The only thing I didn't like was that the moo shu wrapped were very clearly uncooked spring roll wrappers. It provided a bad taste for the moo shu but the filling inside was pretty good on its own. I had it with rice instead which was all right but that's really not the point. Overall a solid four out of five read more

This place use to be really good but lately it's been lacking, burnt food, tasteless fried rice and egg rolls taste off. I'm done going here. read more

I love their food here, but the customer service is terrible. It's very rarely we come here now, especially since they now refuse to deliver 12 minutes down the road from them.. it's ridiculous this place has gotten lazy. read more

Food wasn't as ordered too expensive. Tasted horrible. Would never recommend this place. I have always ordered from them for years. The last 2 years there food has been hit or miss. Food is all frozen nothing fresh. I returned all the food I bought. I left it on counter. If I could give a -0 would. read more

Very fresh always good. Very friendly staff. I highly recommended this place. I think the only complaint is it must be so popular now that delivery is a bit longer but that's a good thing for them read more

The owner of this shop has bad food for customers to eat. I ordered food here and got it back, smelled a bad smell. It doesn't taste good, it's disgusting. read more

It was a Monday, and I normally go to their competitor across the street, but they were closed on Monday. So, I went to Golden Dragon instead. The strip mall is run down, and there is not enough parking out front. I know why. It's because they widened Route 37 years ago and took away their parking lot. It still is hard to pull in and out of there. I was impressed with how quickly they finished my order. They were nice and efficient. I was not impressed with how they don't accept credit cards for orders less than $10. I ordered one of their house specialty meals that were more money so that I would meet the minimum. The meal turned out to be nothing special and not worth the money. If you go, just bring cash and get the lower priced item. When I feel ripped off, I tend to lower my review by a star. No idea why this place gets glowing reviews. I am from Toms River originally, and I have never heard anyone from around here recommend this place. read more

Good service, good food, polite service would recommend for great takeout and prices are also good

If you are looking for a great little Chinese takeout place, you've found it. The food is great, but what makes the difference are the people - super friendly doesn't begin to describe them. I go there once a week or so and when they see me they say "The usual?" (This may mean I come here too often! LOL) For great service, great food, and decent prices, look no further. What else can you ask for? read more

Not in a greatest location, but it was pretty good Chinese food. Good prices and good portions, I will go back when I'm craving Chinese

This spot used to be a favorite in town but something has been different lately . I still consider it decent for the area but , things have been much more oily , like the taste of dirty oil and there have been minor mistakes that can sometimes spoil a take out experience read more

The service in this store is super poor, especially the 50-year-old lady at the front desk who is always yelling at people like an uneducated person. read more

Best Chinese in Toms River. Hands down. I always get the sesame chicken lunch special when I'm at work. Well done, Light on the sauce with pork fried rice and an egg roll. It always comes hot and fresh. Rice is cooked perfectly, pork is lean with nice flavor. Chicken is crispy and they don't drown the sesame chicken in the sauce. Truly delicious. Egg rolls are delicious. Fresh veggies and good pork inside. However, I do wish they would expand their delivery distance just a little bit. Even if they charge a delivery fee! I would happily pay it. I always rant and rave to my family about how incredible the food is but they won't deliver to me. So we end up settling for Subpar Chinese from No 1 China. Bleh. DELIVER TO ISLAND HEIGHTS! PLEAAAASEEEE! read more

I really have to learn my lesson after this, taking for granted that a place that has an overwhelming amount of great reviews doesn't always mean that the place is REALLY great ! Because this place was awful! It's really shocking how many ppl gave this place awesome reviews when the reality is that this is probably one of the worst chinese food places around! First of all, it's dirty inside and out. The gal that was at the desk was very friendly but then some guy came up and took our order and let's just say that he's not so friendly. The egg rolls are stale, not crisp and fresh, tasted like the freezer the guy took it out from ! The fried rice had a very odd "chemical" taste, it was lousy, the whole meal, waste of money. We ate as much as we could and had to throw the rest out. Won't be going back. read more

Best Chinese takeout in area! Lovely family! We've been ordering here for the past few months & are never disappointed! We ask for certain accommodations & they always fulfill our requests. read more

The food is decent, but the guy who answers the phone always sounds nasty. He just has this attitude reflected in his voice. I am not sure if he is the owner or just a worker, but his nastiness makes me want to order from other restaurants. He should be less condescending. The food is mostly good though, the staff needs updating. read more

This is my favorite take out Chinese restaurant hands down.. I always get the steamed dumpings..so good..and homemade. I love the double sautéed pork..delicious.. but have no complaints about anything I ever ordered ! 3:05 pm 1/4/20 Saturday, just left Golden Dragon as they were very busy.So as I'm watching the heavier cook with the hat and outside vest on waiting to order. Then he actually wiped his far head and then touched the food on lil white cook counter in front of wok and the wok spatula, then part of counter looking for towel then wipes his hand on a dirty towel like nothing..Never again,I said something and walked out no order or nothing.Keep your dick beaters off everybody's food! read more

they put things that fell on the ground into boxes and sold them to me, i asked for a refund and they scolded me fiercely.

The food was good. Service was friendly. But they messed up in an important way. Just got to the bottom of my vegetable lo Mein and there was a chunk of pork in there, I'm a vegetarian. read more

This was my first time getting take out here. I only got the beef with broccoli combo dinner. Since it was my first time here, I figure I order something basic and small. Well, it was the best beef and broccoli I had in a very long time. The beef was tender and very good, and there was nice amount of broccoli in it as well. The fried rice good as well. When I called to place the order the man who took the order was very friendly. When I picked up the food, they are happy to see you, and food was hot and fresh. Happy I gave them a try. I will be going back there very soon, and will be trying more different dishes they make. read more

Always a great go-to Chinese restaurant. Can't go wrong with Golden Dragon. Every other Chinese restaurant is hit or miss.

What a place. Our family has been very busy these past few weeks and we have ordered 2 times in two weeks. My first order was decent. It was only for me and I ordered a sesame chicken dinner combination platter and a pint of lo main. All together after tip it was $17 and way more that I needed. Yesterday we ordered again as my parents are away on business and it was excellent. Three dinner combos and a pint of lo main for $33! Can't beat it. And they have very acceptable substitutions. We all swapped out our vegetable egg roll for a small soup which is a pint. They have many different soups and we got two chicken soups and one wonton which was superb. They also allow you to choose between three rices, pork fried, brown and white. We only got the pork fried and white rices both of which were good. All together a cheap and delicious takeout option. We live about 5 minutes from the restaurant and it takes about 45 minutes to get here. read more
