Ok, I'm not from the Toms River, so I'm not familiar with the other Chinese take out places in the area. But based on all the 4 & 5 star reviews, I feel bad for you if this is your idea of good Chinese food. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't especially good either. And I want to say that I got 5 common menu items, so I'm not basing this on just one thing. The good: --Spring roll- crispy without being greasy, contained several shrimp which was good --Wonton soup- full of wontons and sliced pork, tasty, flavorful broth --Steamed dumplings- tender, tasty, good dipping sauce The not so good: --Boneless BBQ "ribs"- not rib meat, it's pork loin that was cooked dry and chewy (almost like it was reheated). BBQ sauce was very soy salty. --House Special Fried Rice- not very good at all. Other than the chopped onions and bean sprouts, there weren't any other vegetables... No peas, no carrots, no corn. So little scallion I wonder if what there was fell in off a cutting board by accident. No scrambled egg. Lots of dry chicken breast. Decent amount of shrimp. Pork and beef were chopped up so finely it was almost non existent. Flavor was so-so. Extraneous- generous with the fortune cookies and gave me 2 free cans of soda. In general I can recommend the spring roll, the soup and the dumplings. I would say stay away from the boneless "ribs" and fried rice. In closing if a Chinese place can't get those 2 very basic Chinese place items right, it's hard for me to give them more than a 2 1/2 star (rounded up) review. I will be looking for something better in the TR area. read more

The girl on the phone was fantastic told me 35 minutes for the food to be delivered it came in about 20 minutes and the food was excellent much better than Hunan. Fast forward five years. Having recovered from the mysterious illness that suddenly developed after the last visit, I figured I would give Dynasty Kitchen a second chance. So as to avoid confusion, it did not take me five years to physically recover; the lingering effects were psychological. Mostly apprehension about returning. Having remembered that the food itself did taste pretty good last time around, and given the very real possibility that the circumstances following my last visit were purely coincidental, I thought "what the heck". Let's try this again. But a problem did arise this time, directly attributable to my visit: this time, the food was unpalatable. I ordered shrimp toast, boneless spare ribs, Wonton and Egg Drop mixed soup, Vegetable Lo Mein, and Sha Cha Beef. Eh. The soup was fine, which isn't saying much, but I don't think the two were actually mixed. It seemed like what they did is to put wontons into the egg drop soup, because there were no scallions or pork in the container. The shrimp toast was average; often overdone in the fryer, that was not the case here. It was, however, oilier than most, with the flavor of the paste less pronounced than what I think is typical. The boneless ribs were almost to be expected, but there was an aspect to the sauce which - don't laugh - tasted distinctly artificial. Yes, I am aware that such colors rarely occur in nature, but what I mean is that the sweetening agent, whatever it was, had an almost saccharine tang to it. They were edible, but there was an unpleasant aftertaste that lingered. The Vegetable Lo Mein was almost flavorless to the point where the musty presence of bean sprouts was the main focus. It had none of the lovely smokey flavor that makes you want to never stop eating, which left me reminded that what sounded like a healthier choice than adding meat was essentially just a pint of fried spaghetti. Now, I was rather looking forward to trying Sha Cha Beef, having never had it before. Printed in red with an asterisk to warn of hot and spicy things to come, it was neither. Well, it was hot in the temperature sense, but this wasn't five alarm or even one alarm - a completely false alarm. It was all edible; I'd hate to create the impression that it was put to waste. There was nothing in the order that stood out in a completely positive way, though, and my fortune didn't mention anything about future visits or the wisdom of having made this choice. read more

This is a hidden gem for Chinese food in Tom's River. It is located on Fischer Blvd in the same plaza as Crunch Fitness and Kens Hardware. The food is always fresh. I have ordered many dishes from here, my favorite being the Mu Shu Pork and Chicken with Eggplant in Garlic Sauce. The prices are reasonable and the Lunch Special menu is Great, many items priced between $7 - $8 served with fried rice and includes a soup or soda. The service is very friendly, The restaurant is very clean and you can see into the kitchen where the food is being made. It is mainly takeout, there are a couple of tables in the front to sit. Placed an order last night around 10pm for delivery..was delivered at 1035pm which is pretty decent timing however we ordered beef and broccoli the beef tasted as if it was the beef from the morning just dunked in sauce and the broccoli was raw wasnt even cooked..the wonton soup was pure mush and undercooked...by the time we we tried everything it was past 11 which they close at 11..we both felt terribly sick that entire night...I called first thing in the morning and got the response of "I probably ate it too slow and it got bad" well if ur food goes bad under 30 min of getting it delivered that's on you... read more

I have been ordering from them for years and food and service was good. Recenrly I dont know what it is but the delivery service is horrible, our food comes cold and just not pleasant to eat after its been sitting with a driver for an hour plus. The egg rolls could be better but besides that they are solid. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but they know how to make some food.
