No complaints, this is a good, old school Chinese take out spot. The food and service are always solid. The inside of the place is a little rough with minimal room for storage. Although this isn't our go-to spot, we do often frequent here when we don't feel like driving further or our normal place is closed. read more

Got our Chinese food delivered. It was ok. We ordered 2 combination dinners one chicken with broccoli and one sweet and sour chicken both came with pork fried rice and egg roll. I did not like their egg rolls. Time for delivery was 45 minutes. read more

The food is delicious and they make dishes that no other Chinese restaurant in the area makes. However, their service sucks. This is the last time I order from them. My delivery was over an hour late, the food was cold, and some items were missing. This is not the first time, every time I order from them there is one issue or the other. If they're too busy, fine, I will make them less busy and buy my food elsewhere. read more

great service. nice people. the food is fucking delicious. the boneless spare ribs are to die for & a huge portion. great for your money! the crab rangoons are very flavorful and not greasy. read more

Fine take out, good service and a place we frequent when we are in the area. As far as Chinese take out goes this place is at the top of the list. read more

Ordered my usual Singapore mei fun tonight along with sugar donuts. As usual the mei fun was spectacular and spicy just the way I like it. Consistency at its finest. What I really want to comment on though are the sugar donuts. As a little girl growing up in Great Britain we used to holiday on the Isle of Man. It was a ritual to walk along the promenade and get a warm sugar donut every night. These donuts took me right back there. These however are better because they're bite sized while the others were regular donuts. I know it won't make a difference to anyone who hasn't been there, but for me it was taking me me back to my childhood. read more

Best Chinese in the area . No question. Everything was perfect. Great soup , boneless ribs , awesome . Curry , awesome!!

This is the best Chinese place in Toms River. I just moved to Toms River from new York city and I have to say that the Chinese food here is so good that I don't miss the new York city food anymore. The delivery folks are very nice and always on time. Any modification I ask for the happily make them which I really appreciate. I order from here at least once or maybe twice a week! my favorite from here is eggplant with garlic sauce and I asked them to add fried tofu which is delicious. Their chicken lo mein is amazing too. Also their general Tsos chicken is to die for. read more

The first time I came here was in 2016, and I've been telling friends about it ever since. The food is always fresh and it's definitely delicious every time. They are always friendly and polite to the customers. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

The food and service was excellent. I stepped out of my comfort zone tried something new which was the Spicy Shrimp chow mein and it did not disappoint. I also love how the chow mein comes with a white sauce and rice like in NYC. I will definitely be returning. read more

Shrimp and broccoli w/ pork fried rice. Delicious. Chicken wings not so much. NYC approved. read more

Gone a little downhill.... I rave about this place regularly but I got food here Friday night and was disappointed.... I ordered online and the time said an hour for delivery - food arrived an hour and a half later. The canned drinks were warm, one was incorrect, the fried rice and the egg rolls were flavorless. Their gravy for egg foo young is weird, not bad, just weird. Their fried wontons are awesome, best around. Maybe another couple of months and I'll try again. read more

Fast always ready in 15-20 minutes for pick up. Tastes the best out of all Chinese food in the area! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a regular Chinese food spot. read more

My favorite spot to get Chinese in Toms River. Their food is always made fresh. Delivery comes quickly as well. The chicken wings are always crispy and delicious. My go to items are the beef and broccoli, lo mein, dumplings, chicken wings, and general tso. The owners are very sweet and kind. During covid, they provide extra precautions. Love supporting small local businesses during a pandemic! read more

Fantastic! This is our go to place for Chinese food. When we have friends and family over, we order from here and everyone comments on the food quality and taste. Chicken and beef are always tender, never chewy as with other establishments. You will not be disappointed!. 5 Stars all the way! read more

They have good choices and food is always hot and delicious I recommend them. Their prices are very reasonable as well.

I have tried a few Chinese food places since moving down here. Tried here and I have to say the food was amazing! The price was good and the amount of food you got was surprisingly a lot for your money. I have finally found my go to for Chinese food ! read more

Staple for 20 years and owners are wonderful. Have tried every place in TR and No. 1 is the best hands down.

This is our go-to place for Chinese take-out in Toms River. The food is delicious and flavorful.

I have just had some of the best Lo Mein & pu pu i have had in YEARS! And this was a delivery. I will order from them again.

The food was cold I ordered the sesame chicken, there was no chicken, just a clump of fried dough.soggy egg roll, chicken nuggets from the freezer section of the supermarket. What a waste of money and time to wait for delivery!!! read more

Very good food, nice staff and fast delivery. Close by.. it's one of our family's favorites. Definitely recommend!

This used to be my go to place for Chinese food. It was the best unfortunately I moved too far away for delivery now and I've had to go to another place but if you live in the area I definitely recommend this place wholeheartedly. read more

The best in town. Hands down. Everything was fresh and delicious. Delivered piping hot. Friendly staff.

We're glad China Express disappointed us a couple of times. We sought a better place and we found it. No. 1 China are friendly people who treat their customers very well. Special orders don't upset them! The quality of the food is very good and preparation is incomparable. Delivery is always on time and often better than you are told. A great find and highly recommended. read more

I have two favorite Chinese restaurants within a mile of each other. And we ordered from both of them for years even before two of my kids worked - One here and one at the other. (my number one China worker mostly was delivering.) I have some favorite dishes at each of Course; but none of our favorites are terrible at either. Some of the things I used to like better at the other place- they actually seem softer here which works better for me these days. It's all yummy! I am a chicken wings, lo mein, Pepper steak and chicken and broccoli gal- but my kids get various different dishes and They have liked everything! read more

No. 1 China is my go-to neighborhood Chinese restaurant, and there are several in the area to choose from. Serving from the standard Chinese restaurant menu, everything tastes pretty much like one would expect it to. There isn't anything truly outstanding about it, but there isn't anything awful, either, and the woman behind the counter is always very friendly. Beyond that, there is very little to be said. That seems to be about the best that can be expected from a Chinese restaurant around here these days. I do shy away from dishes that incorporate seafood here; the shrimp aren't fresh, don't taste it, and won't keep overnight if you have leftovers. Any dish that purports to have lobster in it actually seems to be made with tiny crayfish (either that, or the worlds tiniest lobster tails). They don't bother me, but the old frozen shrimp does. Also, their bamboo shoots are very odd; they are sliced round, instead of into strips, and they are a bit bitter. I only mention this because I love bamboo shoots, and perhaps you do too. More likely you don't. At any rate, if you live in the area and aren't 100% satisfied with your last Chinese take-out experience, I would recommend giving it a shot. That's how I ended up ordering from them ten years ago, and I'm still doing it today. read more

Grossest kitchen and Chinese food I think I have ever had. They rushed it because I showed up and everything was undercooked also.

Our favorite take out. Reliable- always good. Sweet and Sour Chicken just the way we like it. Not to tart. Always consistent. Great egg rolls, fried rice and dumplings. Great comfort food. read more

I was not happy with their chicken and cashews The sauce was too bitter and the rice tasted stale I had to remind them to give us utensils and they gave 1 fortune cookie even though their were 2 of us read more

Solid takeout joint. Probably one of the better in the area. Fried dumplings and rangoons are done properly.

Toms River is seriously lacking when it comes to good food and Chinese food is no exception. I've ordered from probably half a dozen different Chinese places in my area that deliver and they have all sucked except for No. 1 China. It is the best that I have found by far. The food is solid, delivery time is decent and it's always delivered hot. The last two times I've ordered, I've asked for items not exactly on the menu and they're always happy to oblige. This is the only Chinese place I will order from now. read more

I have tried all the Chinese restaurants around and by far this is the best tasting. Everything is spiced to perfection and all ingredients are always fresh read more

Best Chinese takeout around. We've been ordering from them for about 9 years and have never been unhappy.
