I was passing through and my son wanted rice with chicken so I stopped in. At first glance the place seems a little unsanitary. I used the restroom and that was scary. I would've rather used a porter potty. They had supplies in the bathroom. It looked like it's never been clean and it smelled awful. I looked past all that because he was hungry and I couldn't handle a meltdown. His white rice was wet and sticky. Some like that but we don't. The chicken in brown sauce was so so. Had a different taste than typical takeout Chinese. I wouldn't consider any of this gourmet. I ordered chicken snow pea in white sauce. There was a strange after taste, as if the plumbing was bad. I threw it out. The wonton soup had a mucky film on top. The dumplings and the sauce were tasty but the pork filling wasn't my fave. All in all I wouldn't recommend this for great Chinese. I feel like if the place was dirty at first site, I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. I'm just hoping we don't get bellyaches. read more

Never go to this restaurant. Our daughter has a severe nut allergy and had a reaction after eating the lo mein. They would not disclose what was in the lo mein and finally told us that there was peanut butter in the lo mein and all lo mein has peanut butter. They then said over the phone that she would be fine because there is only a little bit. I could not believe that they said this to us. It makes me so upset that someone could be so ignorant. read more

Every patron has the right to ask the ingredients in a dish. It's that simple. Withholding that information is wrong especially knowing there is an allergy. Your lack of transparency and decent courtesy to another human is unacceptable which goes beyond food. read more

This restaurant is the worst don't ever, don't go here!! They don't care if patrons have nut allergies!! We ordered chicken lo mein and apparently everyone makes it with peanut butter. Clearly every restaurant in the United States and multiple counties don't serve lo mein correctly according to them because they all should be serving it with peanut butter. This place was recommended by my sister that's a huge fan! I have the complete opposite opinion.... The soup wasn't bad except the shrimp a little fishy and sandy little scallops. My son ordered the four seasons, I tasted it because it looked delicious. I couldn't spit it into my napkin fast enough. It tasted like mothballs from my grandmother's closet when I was a kid. No I never ate a mothball but you get it !? The taste wouldn't leave my mouth. My daughter order the sesame chicken and liked it. The spring roll was ok and the kids really loved the shrimp toast. DREK! I am not a huge Chinese food fan but my family loves it. I ordered the eggplant in garlic sauce which was not prepared in a way I have ever seen... not to mention it has zero flavor (and no I don't have Covid)... To start..I agree it's hard to find good Chinese in the ocean co area. This place is very satisfying tho. Eggrolls ate always crisp and fresh. My husband gets Gen Tsos and loves the sauce. My favorite is always Egg Foo Young and the omelets are light and fluffy. Also try the steamed dumplings. Soft as pillows. read more

I love Chinese Gourmet!!! I always order the "House Special Chicken". I've only ordered for take out and delivery. There is a dining area to eat in; if you choose. I ordered from here because my go to spot for Chinese was closed. Food was ready quickly and the people were friendly. The food however was definitely not "gourmet". It wasn't terrible and was edible but was a bit bland for my liking. In my opinion it did not live up to its name. read more

Yummiest & best Chinese food in town by FAR. Place is extremely clean, and nice vibe inside. The owners are also really nice, polite, and friendly. My go to place in Lacey when I'm craving Chinese. Their prices are reasonable, and the staff is helpful and friendly. I have been ordering from this spot for years and have yet to be disappointed. Fistly, I would like to say that this place is extremely clean and the kitchen is visible from the counter. Last night I tried the Bourbon Chicken which was fantastic. It had a rich tangy and Smokey taste. It was complimented with green peppers, onions, and white rice. I highly recommend trying it out if you haven't had it yet. My wife rocked the Chicken and Broccoli which is always her go to choice. We also grabbed an order of chicken wings as an app. If you haven't tried chinese chicken wings then you need to stop reading this post, call your nearest Chinese place ( hopefully its Chinese Gourmet), and order 10. Food has changed over the last few months. The general Tsao is still decent but not great like it used to be.

Wonton noodle soups are awesome! They keep the broth separate so your noodles aren't mush by the time it gets delivered.
