Ordered for take-out for the 4th of July weekend. We ordered the pho dac biet, hu tieu dac biet, bun bo hue and com tam. All turned out delicious and very authentic. I usually prefer hu tieu kho, but they didn't have it and didn't want to ask if they made it dry instead. The hu tieu dac biet came with xa xiu (roast pork), shrimp and some fish balls. It was good, but I wished it had more xa xiu in it. The broth itself was very clean and nourishing though. The pho dac biet was delicious and loaded with meats and tripe. The brisket was sooooo tender! I tried the bun bo hue broth and it was actually very good - perfect amount of kick from the spice and also very lemongrassy. Would def recommend this spot! read more

"Good Asian food" and "Toms River" are usually not found in the same sentence. This restaurant is certainly the exception. I got my mother into Viet some year back and since this place is relatively close to her house we tried it out. I'm very happy to report the Pho that we had were all top notch and they also did a great job on the spring rolls. Be sure to ask them for the spice rack as they have chili oil, garlic chili and pickled jalapenos (in addition to the standard Sriracha and Hoisin at the table.) It's also a BYOB. Man, we're super glad we listened to the reviews and stopped here on the way down to west cape may. Initially, we walked in and it was empty, but by the time we left, they had 4 more tables. Their phos were stellar. Wildly flavorful, sizeable and clean. There's no drink menu, only sodas, thai tea or Vietnamese coffee. The food was very good, we had a beef short rib pho and seafood with ground meat, shrimp, and pork and 2 sodas and the total was $35. And those were on the "pricier" end of the specials. Growing up in Southern California with a huge Vietnamese population I have high standards for Vietnamese food. The pho here is a bit different but definitely better than a lot of places that I've had in San Diego and Orange County and especially NYC. The shrimp toast was an excellent appetizer. This was my first time experiencing Vietnamese shrimp toast in a restaurant. The shrimp toast was very crispy and savory. The sauce complimented the shrimp toast very well. I would not recommend if you have teeth problems because of how crispy it is. The variety on the menu is also very large so I'm sure there's something out there for everyone. This The service was excellent, the young gentleman at the front counter was very knowledgeable and frequently checked on how I was enjoying my food. This quality of service is rare in Vietnamese restaurants so thumbs up! The restaurant is fairly cozy but seems like a great place to bring your family. Wha wha wha did I just find my new favorite Viet place? I ordered the shrimp spring rolls , the chicken lettuce wraps , udon soup with shrimp / chicken and three different desserts . Yum yum yum!!!! EXCELLENT . I ordered it to go. Everything was fresh and exactly what I ordered. Spices were just right and flavorful. The chicken lettuce wraps were superb ( not too peanut -y) , fresh lettuce that came with it . I over ordered but it's OKAY because its not over priced and I don't feel disgusting and stuffed with sodium after I eat this food which is a HUGE plus. The young lady who took my order was very sweet and helpful and went over our order carefully and gave suggestions and input when we asked . I told her I am a fan of all things Vietnam and she explained the little gifts left outside wrapped for Buddha. I found it EXTRAordinary ( true to what the word means ) that she came out from behind the desk and explained the gifts to Buddha thing to me. Many girls her age in a restaurant that might not be bumping just yet, might have been dying for me to skiddadle ,so she could go back to making a TikTok video but I found it refreshing and A+ hospitality service. VERY clean from everything I could see ( floors, tables , windows , sill , front desk ) no dust or grime anywhere. Food was packed very neatly and tightly and most importantly NOTHING missing. Desserts were deliccccccioussssssss - if you are a consistency person ( as in you don't like jiggly things in your mouth lmao)maybe don't try the rice gelatin desserts but they are light on the stomach and don't fill the stomach the way a cake or pie would . I am thrilled and kind of sad that I am just discovering this location but either way I am thrilled it's in Toms River and breaking up the monotony of Italian/fast food . The food taste is a 4, except the pork chop dish. The broth was very good. The vermicelli was very good as well. The portions were very small, especially compared to the price. Now why 3 stars? #1, I saw on their website that they had a lunch special for $7.49 with a small menu of lunch special items. I called ahead of time to make sure that they still had the lunch specials, and the gentleman on the phone told me that they did. However, I came to eat with my family, and they no longer have the lunch specials. The prices are actually much pricier than expected. #2 The server seemed very sweet and friendly, but was definitely not a seasoned server, or at least one with proper training. He literally slammed the menus on the table. He does the same with the cups of water and literally splashed and spilled water everywhere. He got orders wrong, and at first I thought it was just our table, but every takeout customer that came in had the same problem. They did not have the items that they ordered when they came to pick up. So they had to wait, as did we. Also, the portion of bean sprouts given for 3 people was ridiculously small. I was hoping that we had a new Pho spot, especially with a great special menu, but unfortunately didn't find any of that. Overall, the food was good, but not worth the drive and price. read more

When we moved in to the area, we were hoping to find a spot to get some good Vietnamese food and especially good Pho. Well this place proved to be a solid choice. I'll start by saying we were welcomed in by a very sweet waitress named Rachel, who was very friendly, attentive and well informed about the dishes they serve. For our first visit here we decided to keep it simple and ordered some assorted Steamed Dumplings and some Shrimp Summer Rolls. The steamed dumplings, although not as plump as we expected, were very good and the dipping sauce was flavorful. The Shrimp Summer Rolls were better than any I've tried anywhere before, large, stuffed with vegetables and encased beautifully in the shrimp. Also came with a delicious peanut sauce. For our main courses my wife, who loves Pho, tried the Brisket and she wasn't disappointed. The broth was flavorful and the brisket was delicious and although there was a few inedible fatty pieces, it was not enough to deter from the great overall taste. I on the other hand, was going to go with a Pho, but when I saw they had Clay Pots I had to try one. I opted for the Beef Clay Pot and it was excellent. The broth was also very flavorful, however the meat, although tender, did have a few fattier pieces that took a little away from this dish. My boyfriend isn't a fan of pho but I love it so coming here was long overdue. I ordered the number 1 combination bowl--it's full of everything while he got the rare steak lunch special. We were a bit short on time, only had 45 minutes before we had to be somewhere nearby but it was more than enough time. Our bowls came out hot, with sides of bean sprouts, jalapenos, basil and lime. All the add-ons were so clean, I was slightly impressed. The broth was a little sweeter than I would like but I ate everything up. Except for some of the tendon, I can only eat a few before my quota is filled. The two bowls came out to be almost $20, which is about normal. And we ordered medium bowls, which were more than enough, I can't imagine what the large bowl would be like! read more

The serving is typical size but it's FULL of ingredients - not just broth. The noodles are fresh. I usually get the vegetable pho and they put tofu in it.
