Running a business is difficult; writing a negative review pains me…read more I ordered a wonton soup and chicken lo mein. The photo speaks for itself. I was chewing on the wontons, but didn't taste or feel like I was eating any meat. Finally, I took one out and opened it, and it clearly showed how much meat was in it. The photo speaks for itself. That is not acceptable. Chicken lo mein is just the name; there's a little chicken in it. You eat noodles. The workers are pleasant, but must take better care of the store's appearance. I do not know why most Chinese take-out places are in disarray, with empty boxes and piles of soda bottles and cans crowding the entrance. Some have also live (good luck) plants that have not been cared for.

I was parked right in front with a window there, I could look out of my windshield and see her. I placed my order. I told her that I would be sitting right there. I could not even get her to agree to wave her arm when my order was ready, instead she told me that I could come back later. The food was lousy. Any dish with roast pork in it was terrible and inedible. The spare ribs were also inedible. So tough they had to be thrown in the garbage. Bad service and bad food. This is just a very bad place.

I would've rather used a porter potty. They had supplies in the bathroom. It looked like it's never been clean and it smelled awful. I looked past all that because he was hungry and I couldn't handle a meltdown. His white rice was wet and sticky. Some like that but we don't. The chicken in brown sauce was so so. Had a different taste than typical takeout Chinese. I wouldn't consider any of this gourmet. I ordered chicken snow pea in white sauce. There was a strange after taste, as if the plumbing was bad. I threw it out. The wonton soup had a mucky film on top. The dumplings and the sauce were tasty but the pork filling wasn't my fave. All in all I wouldn't recommend this for great Chinese. I feel like if the place was dirty at first site, I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. I'm just hoping we don't get bellyaches.

Maybe it was my…read morestubbornness to admit it was anything other than the corner grocery where I bought Archie comic books once upon a time that kept me from ever ordering here and instead, always going over the bridge for Chinese. My loss when I think of all the years of good Chinese food I missed! Had a craving for dumplings recently and online reviews brought me to my own backyard. I understand now why the reviews say Mary's dumplings are a must. Handmade, they have a lighter skin than typical pork dumplings. The sauce has a hint of spice that is perfect. The crab rangoon also looked housemade, and unlike most others I've had, had visible chunks of crab in the filling (I'm not sure if it's real crab or krab, but it's saying something that I can't tell). The accompanying sauce tasted fresh and not overly sweet or gloppy like most sweet and sour sauces. I'm sorry I waited so long to try Golden Gate Express, but I have a feeling I'll be making up for lost time.
