We went to the Ming Du yesterday. We love their crab Rangoons - they're the best. I got the Singapore Mei Fun (rice noodles). They are a curried noodle dish, with shrimp, chicken, and beef. There was a pretty good portion of shrimp in the dish, but barely any chicken or beef! I mean, barely! None of the chicken or beef pieces was bigger than a nickel around, and there were hardly any! My wife had the Pad Thai noodles, and it was the same case - hardly any shrimp or chicken! To pay almost 14 dollars per dish and get mostly a couple of dollars worth of noodles and sauce (the sauce was tasty) is robbery! We won't be back! read more

Gave it a last try today and it was terrible and we ended throwing most of it out. Also, prices per meal have gone up $2-3 dollars per item. Appetizers have gone up $1. After reading some of the reviews here I hesitated to go try this place out. This past week, though, my mom and dad and I decided to give it a try. I was a bit surprised when we walked in and I saw that you order your food and then go sit while you wait for it to cook. I ordered the sesame chicken with an egg roll and my dad ordered sweet and sour chicken. My mom had kung pao chicken. They have free hot green tea with your food, which was really good. The young woman who took our order was very helpful and friendly. Our food came out quite quickly and was very good. Even my dad, who isn't really a big chinese food fan, enjoyed it. As we were leaving they gave us a very pretty calendar. We are looking forward to coming back and sampling some of the other items on the menu. read more

We discovered Ming Du thanks to their excellent reviews on Yelp, and we're so glad we did. We ordered Mongolian Beef, Mu Shu Chicken, steamed dumplings, and spring roll. The Mongolian Beef was VERY tasty, with tender well seasoned strips of beef. It was a perfectly spicy, but wasn't especially hot. Mu Shu can be greasy, but this was lean, with slightly crunchy cabbage and delicious. The steamed dumplings could win a prize, and left us craving more. Most notable was the portion size which was HUGE! We thought we were ordering just one night's dinner, but there was more than enough for two. We stopped at Ming Du for take out this past Friday. We went as many friends told us that it is better than the other local Chinese restaurant in town, "Sampan". Well we had an average meal. My spicy shrimp dish only had 5 small shrimp which was a bit disappointing. I did notice that they had a desk with some outdoor seating which was a plus. read more

Ming Du has been around in Hillsoboro since i was a kid and despite having two Chinese food restaurants within a mile of each other has been busy for the time that they have been in business. They offer probably most if not all the same items that Sampan down the street and i think you can get them on a good night and get a meal that you will enjoy. With that said, the last three times i have gone here they were closed an hour early and the two other times that sauce on the dishes we got was so thick you could probably use to glue a pair of shoe soles back together. That, combined with the place looking like it is in need of a massive deep cleaning and i think i will take my chances some where else. read more

From the things i still order, because of price increases, overall taste as good as it has been but i wish they would move to a thigh meat for the teriyaki chicken skewers the sweet and sour chicken and the breaded orange chicken. only Chinese place i have ever been to that still uses white meat on the specialty chicken dishes. We've been looking for good Chinese food since we moved in the area. And this place foots the bill. Excellent food, well condimented, tasty, fresh and varied. And most of all, relatively inexpensive. It's out of the way returning back from Concord to New London but well worth it. We got their Spring Rolls, crispy, tasty and fresh. As well as the fried dumplings (you can get them steamed too). The dumplings were small size yet plenty of them with a way better crust than some of the other restaurants, (which feature giant sized, hard-to-cook dumplings with thick a thick and leathery crust). Ming-Du cooked their small, thin dumplings to perfection. Then there was the Pork Low Main, well done and flavorful. And last but not least, the Beef and Broccoli left us licking our fingers. Yes, the broccoli was crispy and not overdone. What this place lacks in table decor it more than makes up in food and service. I loved it. read more

Whether by mistake or on purpose, the sauce of this dish was mostly if not completely soy sauce (instead of what should be a black bean sauce). And there was so much of it that the container was about half full of just soy sauce. Thus, making every bite a salty and disgusting mess. Wow I was pleasantly surprised here the restaurant is very clean and well organized. Yes this is your typical Chinese restaurant with combo specials from $6.00 to 8.00 but the food was excellent! There is no table service you order at counter and they bring food to table in basically take out containers with a the plates and utensils. Went there last night and was very surprised with the increase in prices. We got 5 dinner plates and a order of dumplings. The price was well over 70.00 dollars, the food was good but just to much money for me. Most of all the food was chicken and rice, that's not a high cost food.
