Ordered from here from years and watched it slowly get worse. Had a pu pu platter delivered yesterday, and we received one box of food that has always come as two boxes. I soon saw why. The portions have been cut back severely. There were literally only 2 small chicken wings, 4 small chicken fingers, one egg roll, 4 teriyaki cuz we substituted for shrimp and so few spare ribs that we originally thought they'd forgotten them. This is about half the food it has always come with though the prices have increased. Absolutely not worth it. read more

This was a real crapshoot of service and food today. They are so discombobulated and confused our entire time here. Our orders came out at very different times and my husband and I got our meal well after the other three people had finished their meals. I stayed at the nearby Holiday Inn, so this was a convenient dinner option. The wonton soup was rather sad with only 3 wontons, broth, and some green onions. Any additional veggies would have been great. My date and I really came for the pupu platter though. This was a hearty appetizer or meal. My favorite was the beef teriyaki due to its sweetness, good char, and tenderness. The chicken tenders weren't very good. What I can say the food is always good, the people I have interacted with are friendly and the food is always well packaged (no leaking containers like some other places). Lots of good items on the menu but I recommend the sesame chicken. Ordered takeout an hour before close and it was ready within 20 mins. My usual chinese place was closed. This place was a ghost town inside but the hostess was nice. The fried dumplings are big and tasty. The Szechuan chicken was ok but visually doesnt look like much besides celery and carrots. It was good but the chicken yu hsiang was amazing. First off, I just want to say I LOVE this restaurant. However it could use some updating. The interior of the restaurant needs some love and updating as it gives off "hole in the wall" vibes. Every time I come I get the sesame chicken - delicious! The scorpion bowls are also a fun treat. My cousin loves her Chicken Teriyaki and vegetable fried rice. Great spot, albeit a hole in the wall! PS My sister refuses to eat here because she heard there were rats in the kitchen, and someone who did work in their kitchen said they were "everywhere." I'm not sure how much I believe her, but taken from the fact that she won't eat anything from there says a lot, because she isn't picky. read more

I'm visiting from out of town and heard great things about this place. I ordered the General Gau's Chicken, it was pretty good and they give good sized portions. My wife and I went here right after COVID and thought the food was just OK. We went back a few weeks ago and what a difference! We had a drink at the bar and ordered take out. The food was ready promptly and it was amazing. Certainly one of the best Chinese restaurants in Concord. The crab rangoon was amazing. General Tso's chicken is too. So far we have been back twice and everything we have ordered has been great. I highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for Chinese food. read more

I get take out and delivery pretty regularly here. Their dishes are delicious and consistently good. Service is always quick. My favorites are the General Gao's Chicken and Pork fried rice. I like that they use the chinese sweet roast pork for all their pork dishes. Would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

We have been using Tea Garden for Takeout for roughly 20 years. We have always been impressed with the food...until today's delivery. The normally dark fried rice was a blonde color and very bland. The egg rolls are different than usual...rather mushy inside. The boneless spare ribs were very different than we have received in the past..just flavorless and looked very different. The pork lo mein was dry.. Not sure what is happening here..cutting corners on the food ? The chicken fingers and fried dumplings were good. We have always had great food from Tea Garden so we will be ordering again but if we get the same quality, they will lose our future business. Had not been to Tea Garden in over 8 years, but glad we decided to stop by. In short, my wife and I were very impressed by ... everything. She got a hot and sour soup that was excellent ("a nice beefy/spicy flavor" - 5 stars), plus was given a ginger sauce (looked like soy) that made the soup even better. Also for her: Scallion Pancakes. These were light, tasty and scallion'y, and also rated 5-stars. I opted for the Szechuan (spicy) Chicken, and it too was excellent. Just enough heat to water my eyes (in a good way), and more than enough to take home for the next day. Since our last visit, they'd remodeled the inside, so you no longer enter at the door close to the driveway, and apparently added a bar upstairs (or was that there previously?). It felt more inviting than before, which perhaps was why we'd avoided going back for 8 years+. We will NOT wait that long again! read more

My husband and I decided to stop in and give this restaurant a try as we had passed by so many times but had never stopped in. BAD decision. We found out why so many Chinese restaurants have dim lighting.. it's to keep EVERYONE from seeing the dirty. The food, MEH. The absolute worst part of our dine-in experience was when one of the staff members (a white male) was conversing with a few other staff members (one was a white female) about a recent customer interaction that had taken place. He and the girl in particular continued to loudly describe not only the alleged incident but also the customer in a very derogatory and vulgar way, despite seeing patrons glancing in their direction. Because they made no attempt to either be discreet with their conversation or better yet end it, we heard everything that was being said, and it caused us to become extremely uncomfortable. Tea Garden is one of my go-to places for decent Chinese food. I stop here during lunch (I dine-in) since they offer 27 Luncheon Specials ($5.75-$8.00) to choose from, which come with white or pork fried rice and choice of soup (Dine-in only). I'm promptly seated in the cozy main dining room, which is usually steady busy. They also have a bar upstairs. For lunch, I usually order the #19 Noodle, Peking Sauce (with pork) ($5.75), which is fairly spicy or the #22 Shrimp & Scallop in Garlic Sauce ($8), which has tender shrimp & scallops woth a mix of fresh vegetables (broccoli, peppers, onions), bamboo shoots, fungi in a savory brown sauce. The portion sizes are good and just right (I can finish the food in one sitting). The entrees could be hotter temperature wise. The pork fried rice served in a separate bowl has a soft texture (brown color) with pieces of roast pork & egg. The hot & sour soup is quite good, which has tofu, egg, bamboo, pork, mushroom slices (canned) & fungi in a thick medium spicy broth. The service here is usually prompt. I'm given a pot of hot tea & ice water as I'm seated (they offer me other drinks to order). The food comes out quickly after I order, soup first, then entree, and then check with fortune cookie when I'm done. It's like clockwork here and I'm back to work on time. NOTE: Use caution when entering & exiting since the driveway is only one lane and the parking lot in back is tight. (3.4/5.0) read more
