I can't remember, but it was delicious

My husband and I were feeling nostalgic for old school Greek style pizzas, where the toppings are hearty, and the crust is not some limp, wet, soggy mush that seems to be so popular now. We hadn't been to Minerva's in a long time because it's quite far from where we live, but decided to make the trek one Sunday. The place was packed, so make reservations! We ordered two mediums, which is double what is needed for two hungry adults. The pizzas were DIVINE. We each ordered one of their listed pizzas and then added extra items. I honestly can't remember what we ordered, as their online menu is a bit different from what you get at the restaurant. The crust was delicious, not too thick, but thick enough to hold the generous toppings and sauce, and a nice crispy, yet tender texture. The sauce was unapologetically bold and seasoned. The toppings plentiful. Not too cheesy, which we both appreciated. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The front area, which is a wine bar was packed with younger crowds, while the back restaurant area (I don't think it's changed since the 90's) was mostly families and their quite elderly parents. But everyone was clearly enjoying themselves wherever they sat. If you are sick of wet, limp pizza, I strongly recommend making a reservation and going!

Old school family style Caesar Salad. Loaded with dressing and yummy. The hummus in the background was so creamy and yummy too

I have 167 check ins here. Should be 5 stars! Food never fails and all the staff are awesome. Feels like family when you done in.

I had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately we found the calamari really salty and the lamb as well. This huge family restaurant is busy and huge. Perfect for large family gatherings although street parking is sometimes a challenge. Its loud and lively with plenty of space.

I've been going here for years and must say it always have and always will be the best Vancouver Greek restaurant in my opinion The lamb is so tender and juicy, never any complaints. The portion is excellent for its price and it always pairs perfectly with the baked potato that comes with it. The moussaka was absolutely heavenly. It was my first time trying this dish, I was worried it would be slightly bland for my tastes (I was imagining a rendition of a shepherds pie) but I was absolutely pleased it had an amazing subtle hint of nutty tangy spice. I think the pizza is a hit or miss I tried the odyseas and it nothing really stuck out to me unfortunately. I think it was lacking some pizazz. The ribs combo were ok, the bbq ribs were a little too saucy - but honestly nothing can beat the lamb here I'd also suggest checking out the happy hour at their bar off the side of the restaurant, there's tons of food and the portions are still huge - unlike at other places where happy hour items are often small servings. Also we went on a Friday night and had a reservation. It was pretty packed but still somehow we got our food within 15-20 min of ordering.

Frequently acquiescenced by the immutable Deadpool, I arrived with the seniors in tow. What it's not: Upscale Fancy What it is: Cosy family dining Appropriate for couples as well The menu, and food is very reasonably priced, presented, and produced. No protestations required. Service is cordial. Worth a visit so that you can knock of a bucket list check: DD - Deadpool Dining.

The moussaka is SO GOOD omg, the one I ate at maria's tavern just felt like a dupe. Chicken souvlaki is fine but I wish they gave me more bread instead of rice cuz their bread is 10/10

What a bustling spot, even on a Tuesday evening! Minerva's is a popular Greek restaurant on the edge of the Kerrisdale strip, serving sizable portions of Greek classics, pasta, and pizza. I want to start off by saying that the service was amazing. Monica was incredibly sweet, attentive, and kept our pita bread supply coming fresh and hot. She made our experience feel so personable and was on the ball about everything without making us feel rushed. The food is where I found things fell a little flat. The calamari was very good, as was the pita bread, but I found the hummus to be way too salty. My moussaka was also quite salty, and it looked like it had been cut hours before it was served to me. The potato part on the top was also a springier/gummier texture than it should have had. My friends had the baked spaghetti and baked lasagna, both of which were decent, though nothing to write home about. I will say that the portion sizes in general were quite big, and I am glad to have some leftovers for my lunch today. But at the $47 price tag for subpar moussaka and a couple appetizers, I don't know if I'll be back.

A Kerrisdale institution. Everyone knows it as Ryan Reynolds's alleged favorite restaurant in the world, but there's got to be nostalgia there. It's solid Western fare, with good portions and flavors, but it's nothing superlative or particularly memorable. It's a neighborhood spot with great vibes and an altogether fantastic spot to meet up with somebody in Kerrisdale.

Chicken Cacciatore (Hunter Style)

After reading the article where Ryan Reynolds did a shout out to Minerva's being his favourite restaurant, guess where the fiance immediately booked our next date night? We snagged an early reservation after making promises we would clear out in 90 minutes, and happily made our way into Kerrisdale. If I had to hazard a guess, I would have said Minerva's was a nice little restaurant before they bought out the bar/lounge space right next to it. The lounge/bar was a different atmosphere as we made our way through to the "restaurant" part of the restaurant. I liked that part of the restaurant a whole lot more: it felt like a relaxed family run restaurant, hints of Italian/Greek decor all around. The waitress was very gracious in making a touch of light conversation around why we came here... I suspect we must have been her millionth customer mentioning the actor. As customary for us, we ordered Calamari to start and had complimentary bread. Standard deep fried squid rings, generous portions, nothing I can recall that really stands out (other than the cool plate it was served on), but it was delicious nonetheless. For our mains, the fiance chose the Spinach Tortellini while I eventually settled on Chicken Cacciatore. He was nice enough to set aside one tortellini for me to try. Hot, cheesy gooey goodness stuffed in a pastry, I couldn't taste too much of the spinach and we only wished the portions were bigger. For myself, I learned Cacciatore meant "hunter-style" and made me picture a one-pot dish with all the meats and veggies stewed in. Something hearty and delicious that could be prepared over the campfire. Had a good helping of spaghetti, generous portions of chicken mixed in tomato type sauce with mushrooms, onions, etc. A little higher proportion of sauce versus contents than I would like, but I'm well aware it is my personal bias only. Fiance liked his tortellini much better than the cacciatore, but I wish to be diplomatic about the dishes. I would say if you want to indulge in something rich and creamy, go with the tortellini. If you want something filling but not to the point of suffering from a food coma, consider the cacciatore. The food and service was fast and efficient and we were able to clear our tables within the promised time. The tables had rapidly filled up in the time we were there, and it felt only right to vacate our spots and let someone else have their dining experience. While not the fanciest or most high end restaurant, it was a very good experience and I could see why Ryan Reynolds gave such a big shout-out to Minerva's.

Great neighborhood gem. Food was really good. I particularly love their Mediterranean Ribs. It is so flavourful and tender. Their roasted potatoes are perfection here and the rice, yum! Thumbs up. Had the seafood pasta too. Fresh seafood, great sauce. House made carrot cake is a must if you still have room. Moist yet dense. It is really really good. Our next must try would be the pizza. They look decadent.

Really great restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food. Some street parkings and bus stops only. A big restaurant but extremely busy so it's best to make reservations. There's a few options for alcoholic beverages but mocktails can be done upon request. Cocktails for good and not watered down. Food looks like regular portion so we order 4 thinking one for each. We didn't even finish it and have to take some home. The portion here is great and prices are reasonable for the quality. Ingredients are fresh and flavours are there. The pita, rice, and potatoes so done perfectly. Moussaka and the half-chicken was soooooo good! Roasted lamb shoulder was soft and tastes decent too but I've have better ones that melts in the mouth. They are all amazing dishes but some are better than others. Definitely a restaurant worth check out!

The restaurant is tiny, with only a handful of indoor seats and a small patio outside. We stopped by for an early dinner around 5:30 PM and still waited about 15 minutes for a table. By the time our food arrived, there was already a line forming. If you're planning to dine in, I'd recommend coming early or ordering takeout. We ordered the Mixed Grilled Platter (40 CAD) because we wanted to sample a little bit of everything, and it was an incredible value. It easily fed two people, and every type of meat was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The biggest surprise? The French fries. They were ridiculously crispy and ended up stealing the show. I honestly wish we had ordered an extra side. The pita was also warm, soft, and delicious. I just wish they had included a bit more of it. To top it all off, they brought us a complimentary dessert, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made an already great experience even better. This is absolutely a place I'd recommend if you're visiting Gastown, and it's definitely somewhere I'd come back to!

The fries were also just okay. Could be improved with more different types of sauces like Garlic, Lemon, etc. The Chicken was actually more juicy and flavorful than the Lamb as well.

It opens daily at 11:30 AM, and convenient parking is available at the back ($3 for the 1st hour, $2 per additional hour). Service & Experience : The staff is warm, welcoming, and attentive. The service makes for a pleasant dining experience overall, though the venue has a slightly dated layout. Food Highlights & Areas for Improvement : Generous Portions: The main draw here is the value. Entrées come in huge, sharing-friendly portions, dishes like the souvlaki platters and moussaka easily feed two. Classic Staples: The warm pita bread paired with creamy dip and traditional Greek sides make for a decent, casual comfort meal. Flavor Profile: While the portion sizes are great, the execution of the meats and fried starters can be hit-or-miss in terms of seasoning and freshness. Verdict : Stepho's delivers great portion sizes and friendly service at an affordable price point, though the food quality doesn't always hit top-tier Greek standards. It's a decent, no-frills option if you're looking for a quick and filling meal with family or friends!

I was advised by the server not to order the saganaki as it was actually just mozzarella, so he recommended the cheese balls. Flavourless deep fried frozen appetizers from a restaurant supply place. My lamb souvlaki pita was wrapped in a bone dry pita, with some raw onions and a smattering of chopped tomatoe. Tsatsiki on the side. The lamp itself was on a skewer (in a pita wrap??), obviously not cooked to order but reheated and dry, and tasting extremely NOT FRESH. I love lamb, but my first bite of this scared me. Classic recipe. At $12,60, very good price, but not sure I would pay a full$21. - Lamb Youvetsi - Good. Good flavours. At $16.80, a good value. - Souvlaki Platter - Very good. Best value at $17.40, it was a full plate of food which I couldn't finish in one sitting. Had to take a portion home for feed myself for dinner. I will mention that during my first visit, sides weren't provided for the Lamb our Moussaka. But subsequent visits, they were, so there was some inconsistency here. But it's hard to say whether I was unlucky the first visit, or just lucky on the last two visits. Service was pretty good each time. No conerns. It was a last-minute decision to come here, so I called about an hour before we planned on arriving to reserve a table. They were pretty busy (Saturday 7 pm) so I'm glad I called. The three of us each ordered our own dishes but shared a little bit of everything so I got to try the Beyond souvlaki platter (my dish), the grilled humboldt squid, and the lentil salad, all of which were amazing. I was really excited about the Beyond souvlaki because I love the souvlaki flavours but don't eat the usual souvlaki meats, so this was the first instance where I was able to try this sort of thing at a restaurant. The souvlaki skewer was bursting with flavour and all of the sides were delicious, the potatoes practically melted in my mouth. The lentil salad also exceeded my expectations - there was a substantial serving of lentils and lots of dill to give it a fresh herby flavour. The squid fro what I could tell (I don't eat squid very often at all) was also well-prepared, very tender and, like everything else, flavourful. Prices are not cheap but their portions are very generous. I appreciated the big vegetarian/vegan section of the menu! They even have vegan feta available as a feta substitute for the salads, so all of the vegetarian dishes except the spanakopita are or can be veganized. Our server was nice and the service was very timely. The atmosphere was calm. This was a great choice for us! I'd love to go back and really bring my appetite so I can try some dessert too!
