Big and open place. Service was fine. The pho was actually really good so that was unexpected. And the prices were very fair. I enjoyed the food overall. However. We were sat near a server/hostess who was lying in a booth between my party and another party who were already sat. The worker was constantly coughing and clearly sick. I assume her shift started soon bc about 30 mins later she was up and serving food or seating people. Either way it was an awful look especially bc it was during winter where sicknesses were high. The breading was so think to cover the chicken parts. Yes, parts, because I couldn't tell what it was. I actually dissected a couple pieces just to check. It was a fatty darkish meat like substance. The sauce was used to cover the low quality meat. The dish was served like warm. My wife had teriyaki chicken. The chicken was like a thicker piece of sliced lunch meat covered in a watery teriyaki sauce. Again, served cold/lukewarm. Finally, my daughter had chicken fried rice. The rice was mushy. I am updating my review. Today I had them again for my second time and I realized after ordering the shrimp fried rice AND shrimp tempura rolls.. they don't devein the shrimp. I noticed this after two bites in all of it had the black line either hanging off of it or visibly not removed. The drinks were good, but do NOT recommend their drunken noodles. I've had drunken noodles at a lot of places in different cities and I've never had noodles that are crispy, almost look like pork skins. We verified with the waitress it was drunken noodles and she explained it is different. Wish we would've known before ordering. My co workers raves about this place and I've always wanted to come experience the OMG! Sushi. I heard it was delicious and they put a flame to it. I'm a girl who love a good experience so not to see the flame when it arrived was a huge disappointment. And even decided to come back a second time. We ordered the house salad which was really sweet my husband loved it. The veggies were fresh and crisp. I loved that part. We also ordered Chicken Satay which was cooked perfectl. My husbands only complaints is they should always offer a glass when they serve beer. Food was good. Staff was nice and professional. Knowledgeable. The decor is nice. Warm. The atmosphere is good. Been here many times, each one more expensive and less tasty. A friend loves it but I cannot imagine why. The tempura vegetables are more like small corn dogs the batter is so thick and heavy. Had Mongolian beef and the portion barely made a mark in the take out tray. White rice you get in abundance and it is well prepared but when I go there I am not looking forward to a bowl of rice. Staff was knowledgeable and double checked to make sure everything was vegan for us (make sure to tell them no fish sauce). This was my first time trying vegan sushi, and it was very good! This place always impresses me. Their appetizers are all very good. The summer rolls are so good with the peanut sauce. The crab Rangoon is very good, they have the perfect amount of filling. The only thing I wish they had was the sweet red sauce to dip them into. The sauce they come with is good but it as good as the really red sauce you can get at other places sweet and sour sauce. The basil chicken is very good, I do wish they would put a little more basil in it though. The cashew chicken was very good as well. One thing I will say is the vegetables you get in the food seems to always be very fresh and crisp. I've yet to have a bad server however I have noticed they are stretched thin sometimes and running like crazy. The place is always very clean and neat. After 2 visits I have identified the owner. A white man who asks his employees to use American/White names like "Charlie" I don't know that you can get more racist than this. I dined in and they made accommodations for my special requests like all sweet potato tempura. However their curries are severely questionable. Consistency is like water is mixed with them instead of coconut milk. Their food in general is TERRIBLE! I question whether the owner has ever truly had authentic Thai or Japanese food. IT IS NOT THAT HARD TO MAKE A PROPER SALAD DRESSING. THE MAYO IS NOT ONLY DISGUSTING BUT LAZY!!! My server's name was Xal Har but he was forced by the owner to be called "Charlie" in a place that serve "Vietnamese" food. So incredibly RACIST!!!!!! MY server was the best part of my visit. Sushi...they've got it. Vietnamese, no problem. Chinese...of course. It's one stop Asian cuisine at Mimosa, and for those of you on the go...no excuses, they have a drive-through too! We started things off with the seaweed salad, which at Mimosa boasts the addition of cucumber, adding a slightly different, but welcome, texture to this classic dish. The vegetable tempura came out almost as quickly as we ordered it, but don't let their speed fool you...it was hot, crisp and delicious. I ordered the volcano, which was much more subtle than its name. Chicken and vegetables, dressed in a light but spicy sauce. My husband ordered the Singapore rice noodle after asking our waitress for suggestions. Excellent move because it was amazing and we probably never would have stumbled across it otherwise. It is a thin rice noodle that is served with the meat of your choice, we opted for shrimp, with vegetables seasoned with a yellow curry sauce. It's very subtle though. No where near the level of any Indian curry dish you've ever had. It was actually very pleasant, summery, and is soon to be a favorite of ours. As for the ambiance, it's actually quite beautiful inside. Spacious, and average noise level making it a great date night spot. The service was excellent, our waitress was a rock star. If you truly love authentic Vietnamese and Thai food DO NOT COME HERE! Our first indicator is the fact that their Jasmine tea was served in a cup and not a put. The tea itself had absolutely none of the Jasmine flavor it should have. The first dish we had received was papaya salad. It was extremely sweet and had none of the sour or fishy flavors it should have. We had ordered the pho and my boyfriend immediately noticed it was an instant broth. The beef in my pho was not even cooked which meant the broth was not hot enough when they poured it onto the the thinly sliced beef. My boyfriend also had gotten an order of California rolls and instead of the typical Cran meat, it looked like ground up crab meat. He even made a comment that we could get better sushi from Mejier. read more

The restaurant has service issues and the food is way overpriced. Our last 2 experiences have both been subpar. I had to actually get up and run down the waiter to get a drink refill. The restaurant wasn't even busy. Another experience, we ordered take out. They shorted us on the food but, of course, charged us the full amount. I doubt that we go back. read more

I usually just get lunch here from time to time. The staff is very nice. I'd especially like to praise one of the ladies (wish I knew her name), who is always enthusiastic when greeting and processing customers. She's even complimented my hair and bowed when thanking me and saying goodbye. She's super nice, best customer service from a server that I've seen in the food industry. I've dined inside and ordered carry out and they're pretty quick either way. Food's usually ready within 15 minutes. Always delicious. Inside is clean with moderate decor and dim, yet enough lighting. Not sure about dinner prices but my usual lunch (vegetable Peneng curry) is about $10 which is pretty standard for that dish. Thought it's pretty fair pricing considering the serving is usually more than enough. Only bad things I've experienced are slight language barrier. Like one time I was told I couldn't order my usual vegetable Penang curry because it was on the dinner menu and I asked what time the dinner menu started and he didn't really understand what I meant so he just listed the things that I could order. I later realized that I called too early that day and that I have to call after 1pm for that dish. And sometimes when I get my food they give me noticeably less food than other times. We went to Mimosa for dinner about a week after they'd been open. Reviews seem kind of spotty and I think I fall somewhere between the extremes. We opted not to wait for a table and accepted bar seating. Not sure if that was our best choice. Biggest obstacle was lack of restaurant knowledge from our bartender/server. When going somewhere new, we tend to ask our server for recommendations. Huge mistake here. Our bartender literally said, "I hate this kind of food. I like McDonald's." Jaw. Drop. Okayyyyy. I think it's pretty obvious that that's unacceptable from wait staff. We stuck with safe choices and ordered a spicy tuna roll to share, pad thai for me, and my girlfriend ordered cashew chicken. The three stars comes solely from how good our food actually was. Spicy tuna roll was on point, pad thai was a good mix of sweet and spicy, and the cashew chicken was nice and light, no heavy sauce. I ordered a Bloody Mary, which proved to be a challenge for our bartender. She went exactly by the book since she hadn't made one before. I was sad to see barely one shot in my drink. I won't give the bartender an F--she was super nice the whole night and pretty attentive--just grossly undertrained and not really professional. :/ That actually is pretty bad now that I've read my review. I'm still standing by three stars. The food was good and the atmosphere was a nice upscale change. Oh! And the pricing was SUPER reasonable. I think we got out of there for under $30. Had a beautiful day out on the patio for lunch. The workers here were polite, concise, and pleasant. They are careful about sanitizing and spacing out tables, as well as wearing masks and keeping their distance when speaking. The location looks clean and neat and the menu is quite large with a variety of Asian dishes from Thailand, Vietnam, China, as well as sushi and other Japanese food. We were a little disappointed because we had looked online and saw they had a lunch special bento box with small portion of several sushi and appetizers that was perfect for our smaller lunchtime appetites. Not sure if it was because it was a Saturday or they just dont have it right now , but we were just told "no , we dont have a lunch special right now." No big deal, so I ordered a Papaya salad extra spicy, and my friend chose to start with hot and sour soup then an order of cashew chicken. The hot and sour soup looked like a bowl of thick brown gravy. My friend said it was weirdly SWEET and very salty/thick, not like any version of this classic soup that is a usually a delicious broth. It was also not very hot. She ate one bite and was done, lol. We got the rest of our food and were equally puzzled and underwhelmed. Cashew chicken was lukewarm, and the sauce also gluey and thick. Lay off the cornstarch!! Yuck. She said the dish tasted like it had been made yesterdayeverything in there was soggy/limp/chewy and that just doesnt happen with a fresh stirfry. My papaya salad was freshly made, but tasted more like bland slaw, with a glaring low amt. of fresh lime, fish sauce, herbs and NO chiles. I dont remember any peanuts in there either. NO spicy flavors, although I ordered it "XTRA SPICY". Asked for chili paste and that fixed it, but it should have come out with chiles already in it. The experience here was sadly below average. Our son was home on leave and we wanted to take him for some good food so we decided on Mimosa. Their service is questionable and our situation could be questioned by the health department. We ordered our meals and we have noticed every time we go we always have to wait for the last person to get the last dish. The dish my son ordered had a metal shaving in it. we asked for the manager and she said ' Oh, it's okay it is from a scrubby thing and it won't hurt you. Let me know if you find another and we'll make a new one". She had no concerns for customers at all. We asked for the next person in charge and it was the spouse of the lady we just spoke to. His reaction really wasn't much better. He said"oh, it happens once in awhile" He really had no regard to possible health issues from it. scrubby pad? one used for multiple people's dishes...and illnesses so highly right now? Let alone what swallowing one of these things could possibly do.
