I am sort of divided on this place. First, we stopped by and upon arrival I realized this is much more of a carry-out place than a sit-in place. They have tables to sit and eat, but there definitely isnt any sort of table service. If you are looking for that go somewhere else. The woman taking the orders (who I assume is the owner) was very friendly, but they were clearly extremely busy. We placed our order then ended waiting almost an hour for the food to be ready. Many people came in and picked things up while we waited so it became pretty obvious that the best thing to do is call ahead. My decision is still out on the food. I ordered a variety of things to try to get a true sense of the quality. Jumbo shrimp with vegetables, roast pork friend rice, moo goo gai pan and vegetable lo mein. I ordered large size in everything so I would have leftovers and the total came to about $32 which is really reasonable. I have to say that the flavor wasnt really where I expected it to be. The best item was the fried rice, but I think that might be because fried rice is hard to do wrong. The other three had pretty mild, bland flavors. I realize that the moo goo gai pan and shrimp w/ veg have a pretty mild sauce to begin with, but there just wasnt much of a flavor at all. On the plus side the shrimp really were jumbo and of really good quality as was the chicken. The lo mein was good, lots of vegetables, but could have used more flavor as well. Don't order the Mongolian beef. It's horrible. It's all mushrooms. Hardly any onions n beef. A waste of 15 bucks.

After much deliberation (and city wide sampling) I can confidently say this is my favorite place for comfort Americanized-Chinese. The Szechuan beef is velvety soft and well seasoned. The portions are ample. The fried dumplings are always crispy. My typical order is Szechuan beef, lo mein noodles, and fried dumplings. All great ! read more

Might do the job as a nearby carryout, but beware: The food can be bland (apart from the chili oil in Szechuan entrees), greasy (egg foo young), or plain bad (the combo chow mee fun - a mass of unseasoned rice noodles over a few shreds of veg, chicken, and salad shrimp). read more

This is the only restaurant EVER where everything ordered, consisting of 4 entrees and egg rolls, was left uneaten. The four adults, ages 24-66, who ordered were all in agreement. Dishes lack any flavor or seasoning. Avoid at all costs. read more

China Wok produces quality food at a good price. Their flavors are on par or better than the rest of the Chinese places in town, and the portion size is excellent. The buffet is small but tasty and cheap. If I have any complaint it's that the pork can sometimes seem suspect so I avoid it, and they have a dish called "cold noodles in peanut sauce" that is served piping hot! I eat here every other week at least, and it really is my go to spot for Chinese take out. read more

This take out restaurant is so inconsistent with its quality that I can no longer recommend it. I have eaten some good take out from their large menu, but recently I have not. Ordering is sometimes an ordeal.. then the order is pork not beef. A chicken curry should more properly been labeled chicken skin curry. They have the best set up for pick up that allows nearly no contact. I also really like and admire the hard-working family that runs the restaurant. The prices are more than fair for the amount of food. They did forget my steamed rice on my latest order, but it doesn't happen often. The food is inconsistent. One week it is perfectly seasoned and cooked well, but the next week it is bland and all of the different dishes taste the same. I usually toss the bland ones in the wok, and ginger, garlic, white pepper, sriracha or red pepper, and whatever other spices are complimentary to the dish. I also vow to go elsewhere and try other places, but liking the owners always draws me back. When they are good, the food is some of the best in the city. read more

Granted, the name is a bit generic, and the place inside could use a little touch up--but where it counts, the food, is fantastic. Was visiting from California, and stopped into this place for a quick bite--holy crap was it cheap $$ wise--and the food was, again, fantastic. This place is a carry-out restaurant. The owner/manager speaks Chinese and is quite friendly. The price is very inexpensive. We order 4 for $30. It might be good for people do not really care about food quality and just need something to fill up their stomach. In that case, I suggest Subways instead of this pseudo-Chinese place since Subway is way healthier. Overall. food quality is bad. Worse than most comparable Chinese restaurants I've been to. I'm ethnically Chinese and cook Chinese food at home. I won't recommend this restaurant to any of my friends since it stains Chinese cuisine's reputation. If your image of Chinese food is the things with lots of grease, soy sauce, and strange mixture of elements, you'll be fine with this restaurant. Another problem is that they are so slow. We waited at the restaurant for almost an hour to get food. But if you order via and pick up later, I guess you won't have that issue. read more

Tonight was likely my last time ever going to this restaurant. I hadn't been here in a long time thanks to a previous poor experience, but that had been 4 or 5 years ago so I decided to give it another shot. The older woman running the place was abusive, rude and condescending to the young man working the counter, to the point that the other customers and I were giving each other that "wow, really?" look. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't that good either; completely ordinary. I'll stick to my usual place. It's a couple miles out of the way, but the food is better and I don't have to listen to anyone being openly scolded and berated. read more
