While visiting Springfield, IL, I found this spot on TikTok and decided to check it out with my coworkers after work. We all opted for the All-You-Can-Eat Bowl. The process was a little confusing at first, but our waiter was fantastic--she walked us through the buffet line, explained everything clearly, and made sure we knew what to do. You start by selecting your ingredients, seasonings, and sauces, then hand your bowl to one of the cooks before returning to your table. The cooking process is quick, and the waiter brings your food once it's ready. There were plenty of tables and seating, and the food was great--hard to go wrong when you build your own bowl! Eric was also wonderful. He came over to talk with us, such a personable guy. I felt very welcome from the start. The menu is very extensive. You can get either a "yummy bowl" or sushi. Mmmmmm sushi. The Yummy Bowl cooking process is very neat. For just $14.99 for a dinner bowl you can build a custom bowl with starch, veggies, fruits, proteins, seasoning and sauce. You hand the bowl to the chef and then go back to your seat. The chef cooks the food on an enormous round grill. Then they bring your food out steaming hot. The perfect meal. It is a happy and pleasant atmosphere. The staff seem to be treated well. They know all the regulars. I wanted sushi so I ordered a yellowtail scallion roll and a sexy lady roll. Hands down, this is the best noodle restaurant I have visited in Springfield, Illinois. We stopped in for lunch and were pleased to find that they offer kid-sized bowls, even though there are no lunch specials on weekends. The other day my son and I stopped in and wasn't impressed with the meal with so many people in line and the bowls was overcrowding the end to cook which made our food taste different from times when they can enjoy cooking the meals than a rush! The cooks finish it off for you and the server delivers it to you. The food was all fresh and the buffet area was clean and well stocked with lots of options. Writing this review to create awareness. We dined here yesterday and immediately I developed very bad food poisoning. On my recollection it was busy and to serve many people food was possibly not cooked through properly. Meats and unwashed veggies were risk for infection. No question of ambience it was chaotic and unclean. Will never return! read more

Really cool spot. Lots of space inside for people to eat. Also cool to see the guys cooking the stir fry's on their circular flat top. Inodu (whose name I am probably misspelling, apologies) was our waiter and very nice. Jeff also helped us when going through to make our bowls. I've been seeing this place every time I went by Walmart and decided to try it today. I was confused at first but our waitress really helped by explaining how it all worked. Basically it's a hibachi place where you pick out your own / make your own plate from scratch then hand it to them to make for you. Trust me, it was an amazing experience! The restaurant was cool temped and had a pleasant atmosphere without any foul odor. I was often distracted by flies but it was inevitable as the entrance door was often opened every now and then. The price of the meal was so affordable and the taste of the meal was top notch. In my opinion, yummy bowl is super underrated. I reckon you give it a trial as it's worth your time and money for sure! read more

Been twice now. First visit was great. Don't often find lamb available. Very good, maybe it was a fluke. Second time- EVEN BETTER. I don't understand why, but food is so tastey compared to similar setups. Wonderful variety of Mongolian grill type selections to choose from, an array of sauces for the most exotic flavor pickers. I've been to many of these build-your-own-bowl restaurants in different cities. This one is atypical in some ways. They have a smaller selection of fruits and vegetables and a larger selection of meats. Also, instead of using a small separate bowl for meat or an indicator of which meat you'd like the chef to add, they let people pile as much meat as they want in the large bowl. I suppose that's good for people who want to consume large quantities of meat, but it drives the price up for others. I'd prefer that it were a few dollars less expensive, with a normal-sized meat portion. Also, it would be nice if they had hotness ratings for the sauces. read more

You get handed the bowl and go up and fill it yourself which is nice because you can pick whatever you want to go in it. They cooked it and gave it to us nice and hot. The food is good and you get to pick exactly what you want down to the sauce they cook it in. The place was packed because it's so good. The server was prompt and we had no issues. This place could be a good date spot or a family place, it really just depends on how you want to play it. Pro tip: One the top of the piece of paper they give you which instructs the cooks to give you either white or fried rice, put "rice on the side" there. That way you can eat your rice separate and it won't get flooded with the juices. Pile as much as you can into the top of the bowl, if it hits the tray, they toss it. If you go back for a second bowl, that's a second meal. So, pack as much as you can into that bowl before it's cooked. read more

I'd stand in that line for a long time, because the food is that good!!! I don't fully care for an entire hibachi experience and the price that it comes at, so I have a deep appreciation for this kind of place, as I can get the food that I so desperately crave, that tastes the same but without the huge extra price point!
