Coming from out of town we wanted to try a place that we dont have back home and we definitely picked the right spot. Loved the atmosphere as soon as we walked in. I enjoyed looking at all the pictures on the wall as well. We had a large group, including plenty of kids. We were greeted with smiles and pleasant conversation as they brought us to the table. All appetizers came out in a timely manner and everything was correct and tasted amazing. My steak was cooked to perfection, along with my baked potato, my husband got a burger and complimented the taste throughout his meal. The rolls... to die for, and they had honey butter, yummmm!!! Traveling through Illinois I overnighted in Springfield and wanted to try a local restaurant. The Old Luxemburg Inn filled the bill. I arrived early on a Saturday evening and was seated immediately. I ordered the ribeye with baked potato and salad. There is a small up charge for house made dressing but it is worth it. Be sure to order your steak seasoned. The steak was cooked medium rare as requested and the sides were great. Plus the staff seemed to really appreciate that I was there. The ambiance is old style bar/steakhouse and very fitting for the location. I would definitely stop by again when I'm in Springfield. read more

We decided to give this place a try and really glad we did! We like to try lots of different things so we split the combo appetizer with mushrooms, onion rings and mozzarella sticks. Served with three different sauces. Then we split a steak. We had a fantastic NY Strip that was done exactly as requested, served with baked potato and salad too. if you ever travel to Springfield, this is a great place for an "old school" dinner. The fried lobster and steaks were excellent and don't pass up the loaded baked potato. The bartender and bar patrons were friendly and open to sharing the history of the restaurant. Their suggestions as well as the waitress's suggestions were spot on. Food it great. The service is always great. Ambiance is nice. The wait for food is s bit long but okay just enjoy the ambiance.

The price has gone way up. It seamed like it was so expensive and then you don't know what you're paying until the end.

The food was very good and the waitress was very nice. The owner was very friendly and went around the tables talking with everyone. I would have given a higher rating but the place had a funny smell. I think it was the carpet that looked dirty. read more

This was my choice to celebrate my 38th birthday last Sunday with my wife and parent's. I have a high regard for the ways if old and this throwback to the old supper clubs fascinated me before stopping in for my first experience. Sadly though, what I thought would be charming did not live up to the hype in my own head. Let me start off by saying the service was top notch, some of the best post Covid service to date; our waitress was amazing and everyone who worked there was super friendly! All four people agreed the food was too bland - a facet that can be overlooked at a cheaper price tag but a $200 meal should simply wow you. My seafood expert wife was underwhelmed with her lobster tail and my filet was good not great. Also, there was some sort of electrical issue in the building where the lights kept flickering and then dimming and then popping up bright again; hopefully just an unlucky night we were there but it did detract from the ambiance. Maybe it is simply my nostalgia of the past that over anticipated the experience but from what we ate and experienced there are better steak and seafood eateries in Springfield at these price points. read more

Walked in and wasn't sure what to think. Had great reviews so kept an open mind. The staff was very warm and welcoming. The food was delicious for the price. I don't want to over hype this, but the food was very good. Steak was cooked to perfection. Everyone was helping out everyone else. I read that in one of the reviews, that no one has a "that's not my job" attitude and I saw that first hand. It's a farther drive than texas roadhouse or some other steak house but they made it well worth the drive. I ordered the 14oz sirloin and I genuinely don't think the picture does it justice, this was much bigger than 14oz's. Definitely worth a try. read more

Sorry, I really wanted to like this place. But the food was mediocre at best. salad is served in a bowl that you would receive at a high school cafeteria and it's just lettuce. That's all. Fried food with no seasoning - just breading. 2 buns from Sysco come with the meal. The lighting in the restaurant flickers on and off while you eat and the staff is harsh. The owner is a nice guy, but he was not there the night we were there. I love to support local, but this place really needs to up the game... read more

OMG, this place is G R E A T!!! From the time we walked in we were impressed...the owner Dennis makes you feel welcomed immediately! And he checks on all his guests from start to finish insuring we all enjoyed ourselves. The establishment was built in the 1930's and is very eclectic...the bar area was very spacious and the vibe thru out was great. Our waitress Alisa was outstanding!! On her recommendation I got the french fried lobster which was succulent with a side of melted butter that came out with a table warmer. The creamy garlic dressing on the salad was delicious as was the baked potato (real oven baked which is a plus in my book!) She frequently stopped at our table, even though she was extremely busy, to refill our drinks and make sure we were properly taken care of. All that greatness for VERY reasonable prices... The owner Dennis is amazing. He is usually behind the bar cracking jokes and getting to know his customers. We usually order the bacon wrapped filet, which is always tender and fresh, with blue cheese escoffier. Another favorite plate is the half fried chicken dinner.
