Everything was perfect! This place is so much nicer than you would expect from a restaurant attached to a mall!! The service is almost TOO GOOD, they are so attentive and helpful. I'm truly impressed by how knowledgeable they are about the menu options. The server told me that every time the menu changes, they have an All Staff Meeting where they all eat the new items while the chef educates them about the ingredients and cooking process. Every restaurant should do this!! I was there with my Mom and we both had amazing meals that were so good we were happy to have leftovers for later! I absolutely love this restaurant! I've also been to the one in Orlando. The other night, my husband, our kids, and I had dinner there, and we enjoyed everything! The food was delicious, as it always is; they never disappoint. The service was great, and the vibe was perfect. Before you sit down, you can enjoy a wine tasting, which is a nice touch. For appetizers, we ordered the potstickers, and they were fantastic--served on a bed of flavorful cabbage slaw. The kids had spaghetti and meatballs, while I had the Parmesan-crusted shrimp scampi, which was amazing! My husband ordered chicken with asparagus. We had no complaints, as we never do. I'm not sure I would ever go back to this place. I had a reservation for Mother's Day -made weeks in advance and was seated at my table an entire hour later than my reservation. The restaurant was in complete shambles. once we were seated it took over 10 minutes to be approached by server. Family of 7 adults wanted dinner on a Monday night. Thought we could just go in about 5:30 and get seated but thought we should call first. No such luck. Ended up with a 7:45 reservation. Was seated near the main entry aisle, which we did not like. We got 3 appetizers: the egg rolls, Brussel sprouts, and the bbq brisket flatbread that was on special. The flatbread was really good but The Brussel sprouts were just so so. Thought they were too sweet. For dinner there were a variety of dishes but in the photos are the Skirt steak fillet with fries and the Surf & Turf-Parmesan crusted medallions and drunken shrimp with mashed potatoes and veggies. The service was excellent. The Hostess greatest us and took our name, as there were not any seats available. We approached the wine area, where we were asked if we were interested in tasting their wine. We took the offer and sampled several of the wines. It was a wonderful experience. I actually joined Cooper Hawk's Wine program. After tasting the wines, we were seated for our dinner. The dinning room is very nice, and the service was excellent. The waitress was very attentive. My wife had the pretzel crusted pork chop. (I forgot to take pics) the pork chop was excellent. It'll be my go to dish from here on. I tried Cooper's Hawk specialty burger which was very tasty. Coopers Hawk is a favorite meet up spot for my in laws and my husband and I. They are gluten free and Cooper's hawk also has a completely gluten free menu which makes for a stress free dining experience. My favorite is the gnocchi carbonara and we always get the Thai lettuce wraps and drunken shrimp for an appetizer! I recently tried the wine tasting with some friends and found wines that I really enjoyed that I didn't think I would! The service was pretty slow while at one point we were the only ones up there. They were probably exhausted with the holiday rush. If I could give them 0 stars I would. We had a 6:30 pm reservation. Sat for 20 minutes without our drink order even taken. Other tables that had gotten in after us were getting there food. We had been told by multiple servers someone would be by to help us, but nothing. We had to leave. The manager called and wanted to make things right. She offered to send me something in the mail. We had a reservation at 6:45. We didn't get seated until 7:20. It's a chain restaurant with decent food, but when they don't offer you anywhere to sit while you wait over 30 minutes past your reservation it isn't worth it at all. The staff was unbelievably rude and uncaring. They rolled their eyes when after a half hour I asked how much longer. It was crowded with nowhere to sit because they had clearly overbooked the reservations. Horrible atmosphere as everyone was angry that they had terrible service. Won't be going back unless they change management. Unbelievably bad. No apology, no "hey here's a free drink while you wait" or "here's a free appetizer as an apology for us screwing up so badly". Not even an "I'm sorry for your wait". That shows a lack of leadership, poor management, and a bad staff. Corporate should clean house and try again. When the food came around 8:00, my brother's medium rare stake was a hockey puck. My mother and I's pasta had clearly been reheated in a microwave, and my other brother's flatbread looked like it had been dipped in a bowl of soup. When the bill came, it was for $152. The tip below showed that 20% of that was $48. I shared a picture because I was absolutely stunned. They not only screwed up the entire meal but then they tried to get us to leave a 33% tip by calling it 20%!? This place is a scam! Do not eat here. Ever. Took drink order, took dinner order and never saw the server until she brought me the bill. Someone else brought my dinner out and had to ask for a fork and wanted some bread which is normal. 7:30PM reservation for MY BIRTHDAY, seated at 8:20PM. Yes, 50min after reservation time. We were so far behind schedule we quickly ordered drinks, appetizer and entrees within 5min of sitting down. First round of drinks appetizers arrived in an appropriate amount of time, but it was 1hr 5min from ordering until our entrees arrived. Subsequent rounds of drinks were extremely delayed, often going 25min+ without seeing our waiter. THEN, to top it all off, they messed up the payment method and lied to us about how much they charged to the cards, when later checking it was $28 more than what they showed. It is my go to restaurant when I want to dine out.Their selection of wines is extensive and I particularly enjoy trying out all of their different appetizers. I have also attended many of their Wine Dinners, which are truly an experience. All of the waitresses and bartenders are very professional and wonderful at their job. I would. also like to take this opportunity to tell you about the assistant manager in the Springfield, Illinois store. Her name is Teresa Sisco and she is an amazing ambassador for Cooper's Hawk. She is welcoming, always has a smile on her face and seems to be everywhere at once greeting the customers. I have seen her solve problems with grace and diplomacy. The food was some of the worst I have eaten - ever - and I travel to third world nations. My dish looked like vomit. I will never go back to this overpriced and underwhelming restaurant. I was back home visiting and we stopped here for dinner and boy was I glad we did. The customer service was amazing. They were warm and friendly. The staff was knowledgeable about the dishes offered so they were able to answer all of our questions and make recommendations. We started with the Mexican Drunken shrimp they was delicious and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the red wine braised short ribs and they were moist and tender and the flavor profile made you want to lick the bowl. I ordered gnocchi carbonara it was so flavorful and the gnocchi was cooked perfectly. I loved that they gave enough gnocchi to sauce ratio. We went on Mothers Day so this may have affected the experience. First time going here, we had made a reservation for right when they opened to beat the crowd. We were sat quickly, but our food took roughly an hour to get to our table even with us being one of the first to place an order. We were repeatedly told it was going to be out soon and then when it finally came out all the food was slightly above room temp like it had been sitting for awhile. The taste was ok but the temperature really negatively impacted the dishes. The worst thing was their "Parmesan fries" which were basically just pre-made frozen, grocery store-like French fries with what seemed like Kraft Parmesan grated cheese sprinkled on top. For how much you're paying I just expected more from a higher-end restaurant in Springfield. The service however was great, our waitress was very attentive and repeatedly checked up on us and tried to give updates on the food as much as she could. read more

We get there and get seated and they give us this tiny booth for 4 adults and a child. Then our waiter informs us that he just put our order in...ok not sure why you waited until after our appetizer. We had a reservation for 6:15, probably got our appetizers at 6:45/7ish. By 8 we still had not had our food. We had been there two hours and only had 2 little apps and anytime we asked our waiter like hey, where's our food, we were constantly told, oh it should be out soon. Finally I was like this is ridiculous, we are all hungry so I got the manager who said, oh we will take care of it. I'll go check on it. I was like ok maybe he will actually fix the problem and get us some food. 30 more mins go by and still no food so another of my family members goes back to the manager who said he has our food in and cooking. No, still no food and at 3 hours, we walked out. That is not a way to treat your customers. I was patient, way more than I should have been. I would really like my 3 HOURS, spent here back. I will never go back there again. Worst service. 5 stars to raising canes that fed my family after leaving this dumpster fire of a restaurant at 9:20 at night. Wanted to order for pickup. Wife used the website chwinery.com at 3:30p on a Saturday. Got the items in the cart and a message said "Springfield is experiencing high order volume and cannot immediately start your order." And that's it. She wasn't offered options for when it COULD be started, that it'd be added to a que and would be done at __:__ , nothing. There was nothing to continue the process. So at 4:45pm I called the restaurant and said I wanted to place an order for pickup. Was told to use the website. I went to the website and got to the exact same place the wife did. Same message (screen shot included here). So I called the restaurant back and said I was told to use the website and the website tells me you're too busy to start the order immediately with no option to start it later or pick it up at a later time. The woman I spoke to just said "Ya, I'm sorry, our system checks every 15 minutes to see how busy we are. All I can really say is keep trying." I told her that'd be a no and it is a no, for us. The bottom line? It's a poorly designed website flow. Every single meal they make has a known time to prepare which can be expressed in minutes. Put that number in a database somewhere and have the app start calculating that when we are adding the items to our cart. Then, have these amazing digital systems be tracking how "busy" your restaurant is at 3:30p and use all the numbers to calculate an approximate pick-up time with some restaurant buffer time. That's it. So instead of "Springfield is experiencing high order volume and cannot immediately start your order" go ahead and say that AND THEN add "Your order will be available for pickup at 5:00pm (or whatever). Do you want to continue?" And then we, the consumer, just decides from there what we want to do. It'd be better than making the would-be customer practice their persistence skills to spend money with them. Nothing they make, nothing, is worth having to "keep trying" to use their website ordering process. Can't blame this one on worker shortage. The food was too bland and undercooked to be this pricey. The service was fantastic. The ambiance is great. Everything is clean. I ordered the GF crusted parmesean chicken plate with mashed potatoes and green beans with grape tomatoes. The vegetables were not cooked well. The chicken and potatoes were bland. I only finished my plate because I was ravished. My husband ordered the filet mignon. The taste was amazing, but the 'medium rare' was cold and raw in the center. Nothing can be blamed on the wait staff. The wait staff are doing everything they can, and management is failing. Management is inept, and at times rude. Seriously considering never coming again. Update: they comped a large portion of our meal. 2 supervisors apologized profusely while a third gave us dirty looks. Coincidentally, he was the manager we dealt with on a previous bad experience. This night though, here were out list of complaints. 1. Very slow drink service 15+ minutes 2. Very slow food service 3. Calamari served cold. We had a 7:15 reservation, showed up at 7:05 and were told they were running 15 minutes behind. While waiting we saw many tables cleaned and set up, sitting empty. We were seated about 7:45 when greated by our waitress we ordered drinks and calamari. A little after 8 we received our drinks. About 8:30 we got another glass of wine we received promptly. At 8:45 we located Managment and complained. Our appetizer came out within seconds, but was cold like it had been sitting for some time. We were seated near the kitchen and heard a constant barrage of profanity and yelling. At 9:15 we received our entrees I ate, my S/O asked for a box as she was so upset she didn't wish to eat. From there we had desert and were cashed out by 9:45. It was a failure on many levels and they need a serious rework in the staff.
