Trying this place out as everything is in small portions so got four to taste from. Indoors nice My son and I didn't care much for this place. Better luck next time and hopefully the next time we pick the better ones.

Lobster Bisque ($14). It was ok. Croutons were a bit stale and the cream was cracking and not very smooth.

One of the best restaurants in the area. The cuisine is a mix of Italian, Spanish, American and modern. The menu changes often. On the pricy side for sure, but I was happy to see this place in the area. The Small Tapas sized dishes range between $10-$30. Never disappointed. Average price for 2 is between $150 - $200 with drinks. Huge bonus: Pasta is made fresh. Definitely recommend!

Curate is my new favorite restaurant for when I'm visiting Springfield! The service is great, there's a ton of menu options for all dietary needs, and the drinks are awesome! I ordered the Roasted Brie, Patatas Bravas, Lamb Shank Pappardelle, & the frozen flight. Everything was delicious!

All the desserts....ice cream flight, blueberry vanilla cake, and ricotta donuts!

Curate is an excellent restaurant. We went for Saturday night birthday dinner for my lady, and they made us feel special right out of the gate with a cool glittery table setting and immediate attention. Our server delivered top shelf service--when asked what she would recommend, she asked back, "Well, do you wanna know what I love here, or more like our best sellers?" We went with what she loves (roasted Brie, Brussels, and the elk steak), and we were highly satisfied. The Brie came with sliced apples and a delicious fig jam, the Brussels were nicely cooked, my lady's seafood scampi was flavorful and balanced, and the elk steak was divine. Perfectly seared, elegantly sliced, and very well complimented by the parsnip puree and blueberry balsamic reduction. Highlight of the meal! Best dish in Springfield so far, but there are many restaurants left to try. The desserts were all delicious--we had the raspberry/strawberry, biscotti, and tiramisu ice creams, the blueberry vanilla cake, and the ricotta doughnuts. Save room for the first two, for sure. My only "complaint", which is really just a difference of opinion, were the mocktails: the bar staff's intent seemed to be to make them taste like alcohol, even though they didn't contain any. There are sure to be customers, like me, who order mocktails precisely because they don't want/like alcohol, so that might be an opportunity to clarify what someone is looking for in their non-alcoholic drink. It could have saved me an "Oh shit, what did I just drink?!?" moment. In short, if there's a better restaurant here, please tell me what it is. For us, Curate blew Velé out of the water in every respect--better food, more generous portions, cool ambiance, superb service, and at a more reasonable price. Thank you for a wonderful meal!! We will be back!

I absolutely love curate! The ambiance is amazing. The food is delicious and fresh. The service is well done. If you want to experience a laid back meet up spot, you have to visit. I don't live in Illinois anymore but when I visit I look forward to going to Curate.

We had a fantastic time at Curate tonight. Both of us have been wanting to find a tapas place, and there's one within a mile of our house! Great food and beautiful atmosphere. We'll have to try out the igloo next time. Our server could not have done a better job of taking care of us and it was obvious the manager is passionate about this place. Thanks for everything, Curate! We can't wait to come back.

Here's the story....when we were in Italy in 2007 we ate at a fabulous restaurant in Rome. When we inquired as to which wine they would recommend with our meal they suggested a Pinot Grigio. We thought...Yuck, why would we want a watered down wine like that when were in once of the best food and wine cities in the world? They said no no no, this is not like that. You will love it. We did. Back to the states....where can we find this wine?! An internet search led us to The Corkscrew, one of like only three places in the states that carried it. We had a friend pick us up a few bottles, but had never been there ourselves. So onto this weekend, we had to go have a look see. Well the place is chock full of special bottles just like the one we had from Italy (that winery is since changed hands and not the same). Lots of interesting and unusual wines from small wineries. In addition on Fridays they have "Friday @ Five" - wine by the glass 5-8pm. For 5 dollars you get a glass of wine that they are sampling that evening. We tasted two really nice ones this past Friday.

We had tickets to see Chicago Farmer a few week back, I have been wanting to see this act for a long time so I was very excited. It was a very warm weekend. My friends and I could not figure out from the website or the tickets if this was scheduled as an indoors show or outdoors. I figured the best way to find out was to actually call the venue. I called the venue the evening before and asked if it was going to be an indoor or outdoor show. The gentleman that I talked talked to never really answered if it was indoor or outdoors, but eventually told me it was scheduled to be outdoors, and if the weather was an issue it would move indoors. Trying to plan ahead, since I had never seen an outdoor show, I asked the gentleman on the phone if patrons brought their own lawn chairs for outside shows. This was new to me and I wanted to be prepared for my evening. The gentleman on the phone was very rude and told me if I would've read my tickets I would've had the answers to all these questions. I feel like I looked in the proper places to get these answers and then I looked again after I got off the phone with him, nowhere on the tickets did it explain whether or not it was an indoor and outdoor show and if it was an outdoor show that patrons were to bring their own lawn chairs. What should've been an easy informative phone call to the venue ended up leaving a very bad taste in my mouth. I was planning on heading out with a group of eight of us, we would've spent a decent amount of money at the venue. After the conversation with the gentleman on the phone, I discussed the issue with my friends, and we decided that we were going to choose not to spend our money at that venue. I hope that this is not common practice to be rude to customers as they're trying to gather information about a concert that they were looking forward to seeing. It is a beautiful, fun establishment that I hope to enjoy in the future.

We went on a Friday afternoon, and there were people in there, but still quiet, which was nice. We sat at the bar, and our server was helpful and checked us without being overbearing. They also had a board with special limited releases. We each had our own glass of wine and shared a third to try 3 different wines. Their prices are super reasonable, and they have quality selections. We also ordered some cheese to snack on. Delicious charcuterie options, as well as some other items like The Rock's hummus - yum! This is such a gem for the area. You can also take items home and shop from their storefront. Nice staff and a thoughtful menu. We will be back next time we are in town!
