We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. The place wasn't packed but still had a good number of people. We grabbed a few sushi rolls off the rotary belt, and they were pretty good. We also ordered hibachi, shrimp, hibachi, chicken, and sesame chicken--everything tasted great. The kids especially loved the robots, which made the experience even more fun. LOVE the robot train! So cute. The ordering process is via an iPad and they have a good selection of sushi. We had yellowtail nigiri, seared white tuna, pink lady roll, Izumi roll, rainbow roll, Rte 66 roll, Alaskan roll, and Chesapeake roll. Our server was super nice and checked on us often. I am very aware of the popularity Izumi has been catching in Springfield but it just misses the mark a bit for me. To be fair, I am not overly impressed with most of the Asian cuisine in the Midwest, so I am sure my reviews are a bit on the strict side. The service was impeccable and the overall layout to the restaurant I actually found neat. My table of four loved watching the robot train go by and drop off food! And, the actual rotary belt of colorful dishes going round and round was fun to watch too. Where I become a bit haunted comes down to the food itself - my meal (brought out on the train) was bland and did not earn the price tag (lunch special price at that). The few items I tried off the rotary were okay but nothing I am running to tell the world about. Finally, the rotary worries me as we were eating lunch slowly and chatting (roughly an hour) and yet the same plates of sushi kept traveling around the rotary. How long do those plates sit before being swapped out with new food? Why is the rotary not chilled either on top or bottom? These two questions along with the general "meh" on taste simply earn Izumi the 3-star review! read more

The concept is cool, the staff were beyond helpful, but the food was below meh. My granddaughters loved it because of revolving food going by the table and the robot delivering entrees. But no one really ate at our table; even the granddaughters picked at their food. Hubby got the sesame chicken which was NOT fresh, and I got the Izumi fried rice and couldn't eat it. So, I visited this place with my family. I had an absolute blast and I found it to be very affordable. With its many tables and bright lighting, it's definitely family friendly. While adults are recommended to sit near the conveyor, kids will definitely get a kick out of watching all the different foods run by. I think the trick to keeping this place family friendly and affordable is to not be so impulsive that you pull more food than you can eat. It's not customary to have food just roll pass you. From fruits, veggies, desserts, and noodles or sushi...it was all there just passing you by one after the other. It would be easy to just keep pulling what looks good because it all looks good.. Now, if you can get past the rotary bar you can order for your table, from your table via the an electronic kiosk and the rail bot that will deliver your food to your table. But you'd better be ready to receive it because it doesn't stop for long.. it's like a speed train bringing you a treat but if your hands are full or you delay, it's announced departures comes as quickly as it's announced arrival. We had three couples when we went and most of us had a beer or wine, some two, and I don't think any couple had a ticket over $45 for the two people per ticket event. There are also servers that take drink orders, answer questions etc. The service is kind and timely. Our server was very patient with our novice excitement. I'd definitely do this again. You can consider this place Victoria approved. If you can remember the Pokémon video game where they warred at the rotary sushi bar...then you can imagine how I looked... Conveyor Belt Sushi Magic in Springfield! After a long week, we decided to treat ourselves to some sushi -- and I'm so glad we chose this spot! Hands down, our favorite stop while in Springfield. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, the vibe was spot-on, and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. The conveyor belt concept was such a fun touch! I usually find ordering from the menu gets me exactly what I want, while displaying items on the belt I might not usually think about, especially something sweet at the end. This place just opened up and we are so happy we went. It easily takes the trophy for best Golden California Rolls in town. This is a Japanese style restaurant where sushi and other things travel around on a belt by the tables. You just grab what you want. You can also order from a tablet and little robot things come to your table and stop with your food when it's done. The kids loved it and all of the food was amazing. Infinite sushi flying at your face is nice and I want these types of places to succeed but i failed to find anything that WOWed me. All the sushi was very mid tier. I ordered chicken katsu and it was very filling but for the price I would expect it to be. Left feeling happy I went but not sure if I'll go again read more

Went here with a large group of friends! The food is fresh. I've been missing sushi so much. It's hard to find in the Midwest, and I was surprised at the options of fish and desserts Izumi offered. The alcohol selection is great too! Our server was sweet and prompt. If you're in a large group, pls pls tell the server you want separate checks in the beginning so it's easier for them to split. Our first time here and it did not disappoint! We had a 30 minute wait to be seated and when we got there it was packed. Every worker was very kind and working hard. It would have been nice to have been told how it worked as we were seated but it we figured it out. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Not great! I try not to compare to what I have had in Japan. Ordered the lunch special with three plates and fried rice. The fried rice was hot but it was rice covered in soy sauce. Then I waited for my favorite sushi blue fin tuna. It was sometime before that came around but if I wanted a dessert I would have finished before the sushi came around. When the tuna did come it appeared good, but it smelled like it tasted again not good. As for the service there was no one there and I got a table quick. I may have not said this but when my drink came it was on the otherwise of the table. Just not the best experience and I will not be going back. read more

Saw some options when we were getting ready to leave that weren't on the belt while we were eating. Loved the atmosphere. Very nice would dine there again!
