Reuben w/cole slaw.
Chris K.

Had a very delicious Reuben sandwich with a side of cole slaw. The service was excellent too. Would love to return and try more selections on the menu.

Delicious pony shoe! Came here for lunch before heading to the state fair a few weeks ago. Coming from out of town, I had to see what the rave behind horseshoes were about. I was satisfied with my hefty lunch! There was such a generous amount of fries that I couldn't finish it all, but I made sure to finish my hamburger meat and toast. Having tried a couple places, I can't say this was the best, but it was definitely good! I do wish the fries were a bit crispier. Service was a bit slow but it appeared that they were short staffed to the point where the hostess was our waitress.

Scrumptious! That is how I have to start this review. I usually go to another place for my Horseshoe, but it was closed, so we went here on a whim. My buddy stated that I made a great decision, and he was correct! We ordered an order of onion rings that were fried to perfection! I ordered a pork tenderloin Ponyshoe (small version of the horseshoe), and my friend got the bbq pulled pork Pony. They both were pretty amazing! I always get the white cheese sauce on the side so I can manage the cheese spread my way ! It definitely has the Irish vibe, so that's pretty cool! They also have great specials all week! My normal place might be in trouble!

Whiskey With Tortilla Chips And Salsa

Basic Irish pub with the regular drinks and food. It's not like this is anything interesting but it's okay. The Dublin Pub is one of the more casual places in Springfield. Certainly. Pretentiousness isn't a thing so don't bring that around here. About the best prices on any drinks. It's $2.75 for whiskey on certain days, so pay attention to the signs for when to come next. That's about as cheap as you can get anywhere in town. Food is another thing, but also it's not expensive. They have mostly the typical meaty things, but there's also Tortilla Chips And Salsa. It's about $5 for a lot. This is enough for a few people. Good prices on drinks and food. It's a local and cheap hangout. The food is pretty basic but the prices help out with all that.

Buffalo Chicken Pony Shoe

Three words: Great Pony Shoes! They have the market on pony shoes. They have plenty of choices on the menu plus special daily pony/horse shoes. Secret hint, ask for the fries extra crispy. Service is solid servers are always nice. Inside is typical pub decor nothing special but is clean.

Good service and good horseshoes. Not the best in Springfield, but a good option. Great cheese sauce too.

Mediocre food and atmosphere. Hamburger steak had a burnt taste and gravy the same. Wasn't impressed.

The bartenders were fantastic and the atmosphere there is exactly what I want out of an Irish pub. I wish I'd taken pictures, but I got carried away with having such a good time that we forgot. We also ended up finishing a bottle of Jameson by paying for four shots, and got to sign it! (That's a tradition --- finish a Jameson bottle, sign it, and they put it on the wall). I'm very honored to have my name inside a Springfield institution. My wife used to live in Springfield, and this is one of her favorite spots. So we will definitely be back!

I just want to make a post about the horrible experience we just had at JP Kelly's. Our whole…read morefamily went in there to drink after the farmers market. I brought my dog, as he is well behaved. We saw the same corgis at buzz bomb-everyine was chills after a few barks He was just fine at Buzz Bomb, where we came from. There were other dogs at Buzz bomb and of course some barking took place then everyone was friends. NO PROBLEMS!! K? Keep that in your back pocket while reading this. Our family decided to go to JPs. Clyde didnt make a sounds the entire time. Multiple people came up to me saying how good of a boy he was being. He was minding his business. This couple with 2 corgis comes in, same people from buzz bomb, and obviously my dog is interested as is theirs. Their dog barked first*****, so mine barked after, duh. So a bartender came up to us (group of 10-12) and said if my dog barked again, we needed to leave. I asked another bartender why because the other couples dog barked first and his response was "well they come in weekly" ahhhh sooo it's okay since they patron there often and we don't as much. Although, their dog started it everytime?? So I was saying goodbye to my family and ANOTHER bartender came up saying we had to leave and don't come back. TRUST!!! We won't!! AFTER clyde and I left, the bartender told my brother in law that he told us to leave 3x which literally did not happen!! He told me the one time and we left. So please!! Roll the footage on that one I would love to see it. The bartender tried fighting my brother in laws dad after nasty comments were made about my niece.

Then morphed to Sir Pizza, a pizza place with an Arthurian theme. When local musician George Rank picked it up and opened George Rank's Spirits and Sandwiches it was well-received and of decent quality. Alas, nothing is forever and George is no longer with the living. The location has had many names and themes since then, often returning to the "George Rank's" meme. The latest iteration started out well as the owner had owned a popular chilli parlour and brought Nancy, the lady who made the chilli and soups over to the bar and grill. As noted above, nothing is forever. Nancy has moved on. There are no soups, the chilli would make a Pennsylvania diner or truck stop proud - but certainly is not fit to be served in the "Chilli Capitol of the Civilised Universe". The ambiance has changed, too. Noisy video poker machines spew their racket into the smallish room, making conversation difficult. And the video jukebox flashes its adverts garishly into the gloom. I ordered a roast beef and pepper jack sandwich on a wheat roll. After a few minutes and after my dining companions had received their food I was told that "the roast beef is still frozen" (this was after 12 noon) and asked would I like another choice of meat. So, I asked for the Virgina ham, pepper jack cheese on a whole wheat roll. What I got was ham, yellow cheese and a white roll. And the above mentioned horrid cup of chilli. None of us will be back under the current owners.
