Small town bar with an extensive menu. We've driven by a lot and it always seems to be busy, so we finally stopped. By the crowds, w expected something great, but we were disappointed. The onion rings were so greasy they were inedible. The fries, pub chips and Patio Melt were also SO greasy, it was off-putting. Surprisingly, the breaded pork tenderloin was very good, and not greasy. But unfortunately, they batted just one out of five on this visit, so we probably won't be back. read more

I was there Friday night and had and great dinner and service (Beth knows her bourbon, had great conversation). Love the atmosphere and food. I had a blacken pork chop and my friend had the ribeye sandwich, which he raved about. Came for dinner and band and the beer garden is kick ass. read more

Stopped in for my usual Long Island Iced Tea, which is always as good as expected. Noticed the Walleye special, and decided I'd give it a try. I don't generally try fish of any kind outside from my normal, familiar fry shacks...but I'm sure glad I did tonight! It was absolutely delicious! Went to locals because most of the power in town was out from the tornados yesterday. Wanted to have dinner in ac and lighting with my 1year old son. Well I saw on the menu for the steal dinner that it was "Market price" but also said $12 under it. So I asked my server if that was the price and she said yes that the 14 Oz should be 14$ and 16 Oz $16 dollars. So I got the 12 Oz and some fries pickles because we had been waiting awhile already. Pickles were great but the steak was really greasy. And then when my check came I had been there for almost 2 hours so I was ready to go gave my server my card she ran it then I saw the steak was $25.99. Now if I would have known that I woulda gotten a horseshoe or something cheaper. They didn't try to take the price down or refund me in any way. Basically told me I needed to read my menu better. Service sucked and I tried to be understanding about it but many people seated after me had eaten and left before I even received my main course. Would not recommend the restaurant. read more

Locals started off very strong w quick service. My sons kids meal came out hot and fast since we fired in the order upon sitting. Then it quickly became a dumpster fire in service. Taking almost 2 hours from start to finish which could have easily been 45 min to 1 hour. Apparently a server had called in sick but they still had 2 bus girls. Bus girls kept rolling silverware unaware of people standing in the front waiting to be seated and tables kept pouring in who were left without a menu for 20 minutes. As a well seasoned waitress watching this train wreck was rough. Despite 4 to 5 new tables being added, 3 girls from bar side came over to say hi and then a bus girl left to go to the bar side. One bus girl started to empty dishes in the back again while people waited on a menu and a hello. I could see they had a dishwasher who could theoretically do that job if they ran out. People actually sat themselves getting fed up. One waitress was running around grossly inefficient leaving bills undelivered, glasses unfilled, and people without menus. She didn't know how to multi task on one trip from the kitchen. She also kept forgetting her automated list. She could have tried to get drink orders without putting them in the machine, got caught up, and then entered in drinks. Or a bus girl could meet tables and get patrons drinks while the waitress gets settled. A manager finally came over and started having the bus girl get drinks. It was a large table with more than 10 people and she sadly couldn't seem to fill the missed soda without waiting on the waitress to put in the order. Taking 5 minutes. Also this table had a reservation which means be prepared for the big crowd to hit. Horrible delegation. Theoretically the manager should have went to every table, pitched in, apologizing for the wait. It would have taken 10 minutes but severely improved everyone's experience. Our food came out cold and our fries were inedible. To top it off, we got the wrong check. It's took 30 minutes to close out. Sadly I won't be back despite the meat having good flavor and looking like it had the potential to be awesome. Anything I have learned from watching restaurants come and go is if the food is great but the service is terrible you will likely fail. This is especially true in a small town when you have a small contingent of patrons. I would definitely try it again if the service improves given this place is nicely decorated and has the potential to be great. read more

Ive never had the food so decided to order and the kids Mac and cheese was literally Kraft Mac and cheese, the meat wasn't cooked to medium like I had ordered, it was medium rare. On top of it the meat had the weirdest taste, even the pony shoe meat had an odd taste to the point where it made our stomachs turn. We barely ate half of our food. The bar service we have gotten has always been excellent. Just don't see us ordering food again. read more

Local's is a great addition to Pawnee. Especially since they have delivery.They offer great American classics like a well seasoned sloppy Joe, a tender rib eye sandwich, and of course, horse shoes. I love that they have one of my favorites, waffle fries! They also offer pizza but so far, what I've tried has been a little underwhelming. read more

I've only been there a couple of times, but all the food has been good, the prices are great, and the portions are big. There's a kids menu and daily specials, and the waitress was very friendly (if a bit difficult to get her attention). Everything is good, like I said, but the onion rings are AMAZING. I'm from NYC and hard to please; I couldn't believe finding this tiny treasure in such a small place. read more
