Well I haven't been on yelp for about a minute, decided this place needed a review. I'm happy to say that my food was amazing as well as my husband's. I had the Trio a three course meal, a must to try. My food was a corn chowder, chicken cordon bleu and dessert, bread pudding omgoodness really good. As for my husband he had the Monte Cristo French toast, very good, a thumbs up. Oh! My husband recommends the watermelon mojito, very tasty and I had a strawberry lemonade, very good. Service was on point, our waitress was Lorena, very friendly, also the manager was friendly. Atmosphere was comfortable a nice place to enjoy your dinning. We will return. If it's your first time try there muffins. Great service! read more

Thank you Mimi's Cafe for providing an affordable Thanksgiving Dinner with high quality food! At $32.99 for Adults and $13.99 for Kids it was a real bargain. They gave you the choice of White Meat, Dark Meat or a combination of both. The Turkey meal included Buttered Cornbread Stuffing, Green Beans with Fried Onion Strings, Mashed Potatoes or Sweet Potatoes, an additional 2 Side Dishes plus Dessert (either Pumpkin or Pecan Pie). Our waitress Lorena was super-attentive and refilled our drinks 5 times during our stay. Everything was really fresh and tasty. The only glitch was at the host station when we arrived. The guy at the host station told me that he couldn't find our reservation and when I looked at the list it was there. Then he moved my name to the bottom of the list and wrote it down twice - one time with a reservation for 3 people and a second time with a reservation for 5 people. We were a party of 4 people. We came here for dinner and Mimi's Cafe never disappoints!! The restaurant is quaint, clean, and well maintained. Our server was exceptional providing quality service, she was attentive, polite, and friendly. Now for the food, I had the corn chowder soup as an appetizer and it was so good, full of flavors, and simply delicious. My main entree was the roasted chicken, it was so well seasoned, crusty on the outside, and moist on the inside boasting with flavors. In conclusion we enjoyed our dinning experience, it's been a while since we've been here. They also made some changes to the menu, we'll definitely add them back to our dining rotation. read more

My Fiancé, grandparents, and I had an amazing breakfast here. Lorena Casillas was our server and her attentiveness was great. We come here frequently and usually get served by Vanessa and usually have an amazing experience. Today was not the case service was very mid. We had a different server who took our order and came to check on us towards the end of our meal. We were missing items that we ordered. We don't exactly blame her because she was running around with a lot of tables. The food was just okay. I ordered the eggs Benedict and the yolk was hard and not runny, English muffin was super soggy, potato's were super salty. The turkey royal sandwich was not good at all. Do not recommend. Sat very quickly but that was the only good thing. Server took over 10 minutes to come ask for drinks and while he was thorough we were waiting on our food for over 40 mins and ended up having to leave without eating due to a prior engagement. After asking for the check he tried multiple times to deliver the food even though we stated we just wanted to pay for what we had received and to leave. I work in customer service and understand things can get backed up but the lack of communication and refusal to listen really put a sour taste in my mouth and leaves me disinclined to visit this location again read more

I have been frequenting Mimi's Cafe in Whittier for many years. Last night was the first time that I have purchased alcohol from their bar. I was shocked that the price for 2 glasses of wine was almost $35. That is more than any item on their menu. I recently purchased the same wine at Costco and for $35 I got 5+ bottles. Ounce for ounce, Mimi's had marked it up about 25x. To me that is unacceptable. I know that restaurants need to mark up the purchase price but their mark-up was ridiculous and unacceptable. Especially when a chain restaurant more than likely gets volume pricing on wine and spirits. Unfortunately, I feel I was rooked and will not be going to Mimi's Cafe anymore. There is too much competition in the restaurant industry to have to deal with price gouging. read more

Terrible service. I just left the location off Whittier Blvd. I waited and waited to be seated but no one attended me. Two staff members see me standing there yet they decide to just ignore me. Pathetic behavior so unprofessional and rude. The funny part is, the damn place was virtually void of diners so they were not busy at all. Went to mimi's Café after a long day at work... on a Wednesday night there was about 6 to 7 tables occupied. And there was only one manager and one server attending everybody.... We waited about 10 minutes to get seated. And once we were seated, it took them about another 20 to 30 minutes to come and get our drinks... there were families sitting around us, and I overheard them say that they had been waiting for their food for over an hour. It's a shame because the food is good when or if it ever gets to you... but the service here is really bad it is also worth noting that this is not the first time this happens. My fiancé and I ended up walking out... and I'm sad to say that we won't be returning. The owners need to have more staff working there. I don't think it's right for people to be waiting for over 30 minutes just to get their drinks and they're ordering for food and for other people to be waiting over an hour and still not have their food... avoid at all costs read more
