Milli Cafe is located in downtown Millbrae so parking can be a little tricky since it's located in a busy area, but I was able to find a spot nearby without too much trouble. The cafe itself is very aesthetic with plenty of natural light that makes the space feel bright and comfy. There was also plenty of seating available when I visited, which made it a nice place to relax and enjoy my coffee. I ordered an iced latte, and the coffee was smooth, well balanced, and beans were decent quality. Overall, Milli Cafe has a great atmosphere and serves quality coffee. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in the area.

A antique looking coffee shop in Milbrae . It has big bright windows . Table and chairs and electric outlets for lap tops or phones . Menu is quite interesting. We try their specialty espresso: black latte . It is a good size of coffee , the black and white pattern is very pretty . Tastes great. It has some light charcoal flavor with a tiny bit of sugar cane flavor. Very good coffee . Love the black and white tile patterns on the floor . It is enjoyable and peaceful place to rest and work on your lap top .

Coffee was average. Very generous amount of caffeine. Price was honestly not worth it compared to other higher end coffee shops in the area. Got the brown sugar latte and it was masked by the brown sugar taste. If I were to come back, I would try something different. I will say vibes were amazing and shop was cute. I would give it another try, Server was nice!

I was on a mission to find a coffee shop where I can go offline for some time. It was on a rainy day, I definitely did not want to head to the city. I wanted to find a new spot, to give other businesses some love. Ended up at the end of busy downtown Millbrae at a corner with Milli Cafe. It's pretty spacious inside with some communal and individual tables, some bar seats along the windows as well. Granted that day was pouring, I would expect more people on a weekend if the weather was better. I didn't look at their pastry selection, maybe for next time. I ended up getting their rose latte, was debating between that and charcoal latte, but I didn't need a black colored coffee to match that weather. Happy with my choice though, the coffee was smooth, the rose flavors were not overpowering. The presentation was cute, with the crushed petals added on. Service is a bit on the slower end, there were about 3 workers, less than a handful of customers throughout my time there. One group of customers left and their tables were full of crumbs, it did take a while for the staff to clean up. I do hope service speeds up a bit if there is a larger influx of customers.

A nice pick me up after my workout class nearby! I love the natural lighting in this space, enough seating, great for a quick catch up with a friend. I wanted an iced coffee that was good with soy milk and the barista recommended the Raw Honey Latte. Solid choice! A lil more on the sweeter side, but didn't bother me. Would love to come back!

This cute cafe has a nice menu including seasonal ones with fun flavors. I tried the banana cold brew crema which was good and definitely kept me awake, but I think the matcha was a winner here. For just a regular matcha, it had a strong flavor and wasn't too sweet. Service was nice and the drinks came out pretty fast.

I visited the coffee shop on a weekday morning when it was relatively quiet and there was no rush, so I expected a more attentive experience. Unfortunately, both baristas seemed to ignore us at the counter and ended up taking the order of someone who arrived a few minutes later, apparently because they were known to them. That part was a bit disappointing and set the wrong first impression. As for the coffee, it was decent taste and it felt slightly overpriced given the portion size. That said, the ambience is definitely a strong point. The space is comfortable, calm, and well-suited for spending time, especially if you want to sit down with a laptop and get some work done. Despite the service hiccup, I'd still consider coming back mainly for the atmosphere rather than the coffee itself.

Stopped by here ahead of going to the SFO airport. The coconut latte is delicious and really flavorful as a hot latte. The space is bright with natural lighting and the illuminated boards really adds to the space. If I lived around here, I would definitely be here all the time! My friend recently told me this is the sister shop to my go-to coffee spot in my neighborhood, Spruce Cafe in South San Francisco. It's my first time here but the staff and flavors feel familiar. My barista, Amy, works at both Millie and Spruce Cafe. She is very meticulous with her latte art and always creates the cutest designs for customers. One of the main reasons I enjoy going to Spruce Cafe is because of the latte art the staff create. Millie has large windows, making the space bright and airy. The drinks are similar to those at Spruce Cafe. There is plenty of street parking available outside, so parking is easy.

Great looking interior with a simple menu of espresso and matcha drinks. During busy periods like weekend mornings, be prepared to wait 5-10 mins in line and then 15 mins for your order. If you are in a hurry, you should go elsewhere. Two people working on a busy morning. Enjoyed my matcha latte though a bit over powered by the milk and less of the matcha taste. Not sure what type of matcha they use or if enough was used. Note they do charge $1 for any of the alternative milks like soy, oat or almond. Bakery items are made in house according to them. Limited seating with a counter at the open window and a few small tables inside.

Milli Cafe is a clean and modern cafe, fairly poppin' in the mornings with people catching up over breakfast. I stopped by while waiting for some friends at SFO, craving a matcha latte but not expecting much. While this isn't exactly an authentic, hand-whisked matcha, it was okay. It was an iced sweet drink that did its job. Overall though? the service was sweet and the space was clean.

Went to Milli Cafe for the first time with my sister after breakfast on Wednesday for some much needed coffee. This place is a tiny but super cute modern spot to sit and hangout. We came in around 10:30am and all the seats were taken. I wasn't worried about that since we were ordering to go but it was nice to see this place busy and thriving. I originally wanted a latte but saw that they offered match and wanted to try. Both my sister and I ended up ordering an iced matcha w/oatmilk. The matcha wasn't super overpowering and it wasn't overly sweet either. I think I prefer my matcha just a tad bit sweeter but overall it was really good. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely come back again. read more

TLDR; Place looks nice and clean, friendly staff, drinks have much room for improvement, too much milk. Looks like they spent most of their time perfecting the aesthetics of the shop instead of their drinks. I like my coffee strong, I ordered a large iced brown sugar latte and it was a full cup of milk and ice with a splash of coffee. The coffee is not strong enough, I would assume a large size would mean at least a double shot espresso, but it looks like you just get extra milk and ice, diluting the coffee. Will return to try the matcha next time, I hope it is a strong tasting matcha. I did see them whisk the matcha per order, using the traditional method so that is a good sign. While I was there I saw a customer throw out half her cup of an iced matcha latte, will return to try that next time before I speak more about it. Attached is a photo of my iced brown sugar latte, as you can tell by the lighten color it is majority milk. Hopefully they are just working out the kinks as a new shop, but lots of room for improvement. read more

There's great quality coffee here as others have mentioned. I really like that they use ritual coffee that has rich natural flavors. The matcha is so strong as delicious, best I've had, straight from Kyoto. The barista was very friendly and the tables were clean. They have fresh pasties that I didn't try this time but will my next visit. The area is bright and the vibes were great. Thank you! read more

Tried the rose latte and it was a good balance of coffee and rose flavors! It was floral but not super strong and the espresso flavor was nice too. The store looks super simple, modern, and spacious but with only a few small tables available for customers to use. Soft opening right now with only drinks available for purchase, but from the looks of it, they have a glass display set up for probably food/pastries in the future read more

Got the Bumble bee (orange juice with espresso) and matcha latte. Daughter was disappointed when they added more milk to top off her matcha as it diluted the flavor. I asked for light ice for my bumble bee drink. When I got my drink I told the barista that I had asked for light ice. She said she would scoop out some ice and top it off. I said no as I didn't want to change the flavor of the drink if she is just adding other things to too it off. There was way too much orange juice in this drink and it made the drink taste bitter. Also I noticed that both of our drinks were $6.50 but was charged $7 for each drink. We didn't add it substitute anything so not sure what the extra charge per drink was for. Was hopeful for a new coffee place in Millbrae. Maybe they are new and still figuring things out but hopeful they can improve their drinks and customer experience. read more

I've gotten the matcha latte and matcha tonic here and I really enjoyed both. It's nice to have a non-chain spot in Millbrae. -1 star because even though the drinks are good the 3 times I've come here service wasn't that friendly/baristas just seemed off? The last time I went in, I walked in, said hi, and both baristas continued talking to each other for another minute before turning around to take my order. Felt awkward, especially since there wasn't anyone else in line or in the shop. read more

It was a random visit to this newer cafe in the area instead of going to my regular spot. There were people enjoying the cafe and the cafe itself was bright with high ceiling. Two Batista were on shift and seemed to be behind on drinks. One of tbe Batista gave a cup of coffee drink to another custom on one side of the bar next to the coffee machine then when it was my turn, the latte was on the opposite side of the counter which was confusing. Dirty dishes were by the counter as well next to the condiments. $8 for a small cup of March latte with Almond milk remained to be a bit too pricy for the quality received. read more

I was so happy when Milli opened up very nice place. When I entered the coffee shop there was a barista who barely said hello. She was the only person working but the place only had 2 other people. I ordered a hot mocha and it was awful!!! It did not taste like a mocha actually it had no taste. The mocha came in a very small cup for $6.80. I wanted to ask for my money back but I did not want to be rude. I won't go back there. read more

The service is terrible. The girl that took my order looked like she hated being there. No expression and barley said anything to me. The $7.50 matcha latte she made me was terrible. I was there closer to closing time and there was a lot of slamming and flopping around as she cleaned up. It felt like I was in someone's house that didn't want me there. Not returning. read more

Beautiful new addition to Millbrae! I've visited twice and tried their Uji matcha latte as well as the Havana cap and hot chocolate. LOVED ALL THE DRINKS! Espresso was strong and they use Ritual's light roast which is the best ever!! Everything was tasty, I love that they bake their pastries in house. The leek pastry and blueberry scones are to die for! Staff is super nice and knowledgeable .. not sure what all the others are complaining about .. maybe have a bit patience and be more openminded? Anyway LOVE U MILLI! read more

Americano was unpleasant to my tastebuds. Matcha tasted like milk, no matcha tasted. This is like bobatime in LA. Windows were open which is a neat concept, but it's a wind tunnel and it's too cold. It took too long to for them to make an americano and matcha that it's baffling to me. read more

Super slow service every time I come. Decided to give Milli a third try with my sister. Service was slow as there was only one person working on 5 orders on a Saturday morning, with the Millbrae Farmer's Market across the street. Will not be coming back here again as their workflow has not changed since they opened and through previous visits. read more

Finally after several months of walking by this space on my way home wondering what is was going to be and when would it open, this weekend I was pleasantly surprised to see people inside and looking like they were enjoying the ambience. I walked in and instantly felt comfortable and excited to try thier coffee. I ordered the matcha coconut latte. It did not disappoint! I sat down and enjoyed it there while taking in the warm atmosphere and modern decor. I look forward to visiting again soon. read more

Overrated, overpriced, and underwhelmed. Went in there today cuz I was in the area. Decided to go with a matcha coconut latte. The barista asked me what milk I wanted and I said coconut and she said oh no the coconut in the latte is just coconut powder and they didn't have coconut milk. Oooook fine. But then I was looking at the register and she charged me $7.50, but their sign read $6.80 and I asked her why she charged me $7.50. She said oh the sign isn't updated and I said oh well can you change the price because that is kind of like false advertising. She just shrugged and said oh I'll tell my manager. Ummm oooook I guess. I didn't want to make a bigger fuss over $0.70 so I paid. When I got my drink, it looked like a 10 but tasted like a 5. Will not be going back or recommending. PLEASE STOP BEING LAZY OR CHEAP OR BOTH AND UPDATE YOUR SIGNAGE. read more

The pumpkin spice chai available year round (joy!) and the banana cram matcha (so far seasonal). Both not too sweet. Would like some kind of cream on top - still great as is. Both times I went for the breakfast burrito. Big fan of the veggie breakfast burrito with added bacon :) The chipotle sauce is the liquid gold! It was my first time trying Binka Bites and I really enjoyed them. The texture reminds me of a hybrid between mochi and sponge cake, soft, chewy, and not overly sweet. My favorite flavor out of the box was definitely the Nutella. For leftover, I would recommend to microwave them for a 5-8 seconds before eating so it will be soft and warm. The Spam Musubi had a great spam-to-rice ratio imo (very important lol) with decent amount of sauce. Meanwhile, the Chicken Empanada was fresh, hot, and packed with flavorful shredded chicken. Overall, it was a really great first visit. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying their Mini Adobo Rice with Scrambled Egg next time.

The moment you walk in, you can feel the welcoming vibe - cozy, modern, and perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet cup of coffee. The coffee is top-notch (Ritual) and their signature Bumblebee is already a favorite of ours. The staff is incredibly friendly and genuinely passionate about what they do, which makes the experience even better. Came in a few days back and had to write a review. Noticed the man serving me had meta glasses (first red flag); I've worked in the coffee industry for a years upon end and his customer service was not up to par. Lastly, the sound the milk made when steaming was perceivably high pitched leading to a foamy mess (whole milk btw). Weird service and bad technical skills do not coexist in an environment that I would spend my money. Safe to say Milli cafe has not found its groove where it once had promising footing. Alternatives around the area are Kaizen coffee and Zorek Cafe! read more

This café has excellent baristas who take the time to explain the coffee process, different drink options, and offer thoughtful recommendations. The staff is friendly and highly knowledgeable. Occasionally, they do run out of ingredients for some popular drinks, but they handle it with sincerity and are quick to suggest similar alternatives or creative substitutions. read more
