I walked in on a Friday around 2 pm. The place had 4 tables being served yet I had to find someone to recognize me. I ordered the signature salmon with brown butter and mashed potatoes with broccoli. The salmon was dry with no indication of butter. The mashed potatoes were acceptable. The waitress came over when I had half of a plate of food and asked me if I was finished. . While visiting family in Longview, we stopped in to Mill City Grill for lunch. Upon entering I right away noticed there decor. I very much liked the atmosphere with the wooden logs and dark wood walls. We each ordered a beer--I got overly excited at the salted caramel stout but unfortunately couldn't finish it. It was good the first couple of sips but a little too on the dark side for me. My husband went right for the wings and pizza. We got 5 boneless habanero wings. I wasn't going to try them at first because of the spice but they were surprisingly tasty! We also ordered a Margherita Pizza to share. It was a bit odd--a thin very soft crust with a few thin slices of tomato, globs of fresh mozz and shreds of basil is all that was on top. Not your typical Margherita pizza. For my main dish I got the BBQ chicken, ranch wrap. It was definitely interesting. The wrap looked like it was rolled into a sphere and then cut in half which made it difficult to eat. There was barely any barbecue sauce on the little bit of fried chicken in the wrap but had more than enough lettuce--with not much ranch. The chips that came with each sandwich however were delicious. The other two got the pulled pork sandwich and the steak sandwich which I heard no complaints about and they polished off rather delightfully. I asked for ROM burger without the bun and with bacon, a side salad with Bleu Cheese and coffee. My husband ordered a pizza. My coffee cup had lipstick on it, waitress laughed said are you sure it wasn't yours... got my salad with ranch had to fix before I ate which wasn't until I received my burger, because the waitress wasn't around. My burger didn't have bacon, so had wait til the waitress came back to fix. Waitress wasn't very talkative, and didn't apologize for all these errors. Great place to hang with friends no matter what age you are. I tend to eat the same things at restaurants but what I've had here is definitely good. A little pricey but not ridiculous. I love the bar upstairs. It's gorgeous and a great place for date-night or a group of friends or any configurations. I tried the Pizza and it was good enough to have another piece. Such potential, great location, concept (lumber mill theme) but the food was terrible quality, not fresh. Veggies had brown ends (salad, broccoli even lemon wedge in my ice tea was disgusting). Fish & chips were frozen, old and not fresh prepared. I've had better fish sticks I've stolen from my grandson at home! So we then order salmon. Pretty sure it died last year and was frozen. Dry & fishy ewww. Mashed potatoes ok ish. Fries were soggy not crisp. Simplify your menu. Make it fresh and worth eating. Went here for lunch today. The place was pretty clean and spacious. I didn't really know what to order so I asked for recommendation between the burger and sandwich. The server recommended the mill cheese steak. The order came out pretty fast. The food wasn't too bad, but also wasn't the greatest. I think there was a lil blue cheese mixed in with the cheddar cgeese. I have been spoil because I am used to the ones from Portland (especially the food cart by the US Bank Tower). The server, however, was super friendly and attentive, which made the experience pleasant. read more

Well ... we walked in at about 4:50 And placed a drink order at approximately 4:53 When our waitress came back , I asked if it was still Happy hour .. we all looked and it was still just short of 5 so we ordered a few happy hour items and a few non happy hour items. We ordered 3 baby cups of soups per HH for $2 and 2 HH salads for $4 Nachos... non HH item Boneless wings.. happy hour for I think $5 Pasta ... non HH item Here are my concerns: 1. We did place our orders just before 5 but got none of the above for HH prices... we didn't even really get what we ordered. We ended up getting two regular sized salads and two bowls of chilies vs the HH order. Our waitress, Becca said she figured it out and it was a better deal. 17.98 for two....when we got our bill... that didn't make sense.... 2. We never got the boneless wings (to be clear, we didn't get charged either) 3. We never got the dinner plate of pasta ( that did not come on the bill either ) 4. I have been at restaurants occasionally where 1 item has been forgotten ... but two items, never)... especially wth the item being a dinner item ... Becca our waitress even interacted with us in regards to which sauce for the Pasta... and we didn't order a multitude of items... 6. Our drink WAS clearly ordered before 5... we don't even know if we got HH price on it.. as it was $8.50 5. Honestly... the best customer service if the restaurant truly felt we did not make the happy hour time would have been for Becca to just come back and let us know... we may have changed our order, had more options etc... should have been our choice right?.... but we clearly should have been communicated on this... right? Needless to say... we left disappointed... my daughter was excited to bring me here because everything is made from scratch and we all love that!!! That being said... I wanted to try a new place today. I walked in and stood around looking at menu and waiting at counter. Took 10 minutes to actually acknowledge me. I was there to place a to go order. Waited 50 minutes for my order as I watched others walking in without face masks and sitting at tables waiting for food and drinks as I watched servers going around taking orders and bringing their food. Never got an update for why it was taking so long. Ahi tacos were pretty solid. Was hoping for a bit of spice in the sauce. The tuna was cooked very well. Great beer, great food, fast service, and family friendly. We really enjoyed their the peanut chicken wrap, the crispy chicken salad, and the kids spaghetti with sauce. The wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was a little loud, but that helped to drown out our daughters tantrum so we could help her calm down without drawing lots of unwanted attention. A cool place with decent food. I'll start off by saying that the overall ambiance was nice - they really kept to a theme and between the metalwork, wood stacks, and overall industrial feel, it really does give you a sense of being in a mill or factory setting. Even their drinks have names like the Safety Meeting, the Plant Manager, the Swing Shift, etc. They have a pretty nice selection of local beers, which is always a big plus for us. The food was ok, but I was a little disappointed with my entrée. Maybe its my fault for ordering the mac and cheese pizza, but hey, it was listed as one of their house specialties. The crust was good (the pizzas are all wood-fired, by the way), but between the white sauce and cheese and pasta, the whole thing was just very much on the bland side. Really wasn't feeling that at all. 3/5 for the pizza. My boyfriend's prime rib was pretty tasty though, kind of wish I'd gotten that. It was really well seasoned, tender and flavorful. 4/5 for that. Overall, I'd try this place again. It's got a really cool feel to it and I'm willing to bet the rest of the menu is better than the mac and cheese pizza. read more

We sat down at a booth and the place was deserted except for one other couple that appeared to have just been served their meal, as the wrap looked delicious and one of them was just digging in. We had to wait long enough that I decided to go ahead and grab menus from the waitress station and start planning my meal. After about 10 minutes, 20 to 9 by my phone, a waitress came out and told us they were closing in a few minutes and we would not be served, in a very condescending voice. The sign on the door states they close at 9, although the bar was open. On a Saturday night. As we were leaving the waitress went ahead and served the other half of the couple that was there. I was so insulted. Why were being asked to leave with a kitchen supposedly open for another 20 minutes? Is it because perhaps one of us is black? The look on the waitresses face said it all. NEVER GOING BACK and I hope you think twice about patronizing a place that is so discriminatory as well. read more

I LOVE this place...I have always had great meals here for both lunch and dinner. Tonight, i had the signature buffaloaf meal. It came with yummy mashed potatoes and gravy that was full of flavor, perfectly cooked green beans, and a house salad that was really crisp and fresh. My daughter had the Maui burger and she complimented them on serving a hawaiian burger that wasn't so soggy with too much teriyaki ..it was perfectly grilled. I would totally recommend this establishment. It's a bit more expensive than some other restaurants, but I'm totally fine with paying for quality food. My husband and I tried this place out last week for the first time and I felt compelled to leave a review. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the ambience, decor and above all, the service! We chose to sit upstairs in the bar, which feels much more like the primary dining area than main level but since it was mid week could be deceiving. The bar was pretty busy, yet the bartender who was also the only server managed to handle EVERYTHING so quickly and competently that our experience was outstanding. This gal wasn't just opening and pouring beers, folks, she was making mixed drinks, shaking martini's plus taking and delivering food orders while being friendly and professional. A couple of times we noticed support staff step in to clear tables, but seriously I'm sure all of us have waited to even be acknowledged in places with 10x the staff only to be let down by the food quality. This seems to be the only trendy restaurant in Longview, in a downtown area that is mostly dead and archaic. Five family members and I went to dinner there on a Saturday night at 6 p.m. Only a few tables were taken and the "seat yourself" sign was out. We put together a table for six and were greeted promptly and jovially by our waitperson. The restaurant serves beer, wine, and cocktails but most of us ordered water and lemonade. The service was friendly and prompt. Dinner orders: mac and cheese pizza, lock out/tag out pizza, Cobb salad with ahi tuna, Grill City burger, and the house salad. We also ordered an appetizer of cajun tater tots. Everything was delicious and fresh. The ahi was cooked beautifully but it would have been nice if it was warm instead of cold. The pizzas were also delicious and were polished off. The hit of the meal were the tater tots with a special slightly-spicy fry sauce. The tots came on a big platter and we finished the whole thing! The decor is factory meets log cabin. Concrete floors and walls with thick wood beams in the ceiling. When the place is full it probably gets pretty noisy. Oh, and there are two big screen TVs hanging from the wood beams in the ceiling. A football game was on when we were there. If you're looking for a trendy bar and grill in Longview this is the ONLY place to go. read more
