Milena is rude and pushy. Took a dress to be altered and she would not give a quote until my dress was completed. She left a couple pins inside the dress but thank goodness I saw them and removed them or I would have been stabbed by them as they were rather large size. Worst service ever read more

She does a nice job, but is very expensive! I paid $30 for a simple maxi skirt hem, and $10 to have a simple cotton tank top hemmed. She is quick and does solid work, but is expensive. read more

Milena perfected my daughter's bridesmaid's dresses! Their sister is getting married and Milena made both dresses fit just right after her expert tailoring! read more

Once again, we are so happy and impressed by Milena. She did a wonderful job on my daughter's prom gown. The tailoring we needed was way beyond a simple hem. She had to replace the zipper, change the back so it was a lace-up closure, alter the seams, etc. It turned out fabulously! AND, when my daughter lost weight she did an emergency alteration the day of the prom free of charge! read more

Milena is excellent with her craft. I used to only use a tailor in the Bay Area until I met Milena. Tailors practice a craft that must be mastered over time. Milena is that master. Although she and I will sometimes dispute pant length (we do so often), she does what I request and is so highly skilled that I come away as though my clothes were all custom. I haven't sought my Bay Area tailor in over a decade. Now if I could only do the same with my shoe cobbler. Just watch the pant length if you're like me and prefer a fold in the pant legs. read more

Milena is the best. I have been going here for years. She has helped with wedding and work alterations.

Wonderful! Milena is the best! We upped the date of our wedding and she took my wedding dress from a size 12 to a size 6 in a week! It looks beautiful! I couldn't be more pleased with her work. She is the kindest, sweetest woman! To top it of she is also making me a custom veil! I love this woman! For anyone considering using Milena for alterations or custom work please do. She's the best in town and does not overcharge. She's great! read more

I have waited to write this review but now feel ready to tell my story. Milena was highly recommended by several people to alter my wedding dress. When I first met her, I was immediately taken back by her harsh, aggressive behavior. That should have been the indication to leave immediately and find a new seamstress. First of all she wouldn't listen to what I needed and kept saying she has been a seamstress for 30 years. My daughters were with me so they were able to keep me calm thinking perhaps I was overly sensitive because of nerves from wedding planning. Milena instructed me to go back in one month to pick up my dress which was a week before my wedding. When I went back she looked at me not knowing why I was there. When I said I was there to pick up my wedding gown and my grand daughters dress. She immediately gave me my grand daughters dress but said she didn't have my dress ready. In fact she hadn't even touched it ! I completely freaked out and demanded to know why. At first she tried to blame me (not certain why because she had her instructions on what to do!) then said she had been ill and forgot to work on my dress but that she would have it ready in two days which was the sat before my wedding. I went back that sat and my dress was completed or so I thought. Yes the bra was sewn in and my dress had been altered to pin up the back. I tried it on quickly and it seemed okay because I just slipped it on and off and left a very happy bride to be. Here is when the real issue occurred. The day of my wedding I was helped with getting my dress on. As soon as I grabbed my dress I was jabbed by a pin. My daughter found several pins left inside my gown after I was being jabbed every time I moved! We thought it was over and we stopped the bleeding in my hands and legs and I was helped into the car. When I sat down I immediately screamed out in pain and they yanked me out of the car and lifted my dress only to find a huge gauge needle with thread in it inside my thigh ! As soon as they pulled it out I bled into my dress. Finally made it to the venue after being stabbed numerous times! During the ceremony I kept feeling like I was being poked again and realized there were more pins or needles. I made it through the ceremony and my new husband found several more pins and needles with thread inside my gown but by the time it was over, my legs had over a dozen puncture wounds and the inside of my gown was full of blood stains. I had to go on my honeymoon with bruised legs and hands from all the puncture wounds by Melina's careless work! When we returned from our trip, my husband confronted her and she sent me an apology note but clams it was only one pin. NOT JUST ONE PIN! It was almost a dozen pins and needles that still had thread !!! No bride should have to endure this torture ever !!! Milena is and will always be my worst nightmare and she should not be in business especially since she wouldn't even reimburse me for her lack of work! She's lucky I didn't sue her for damages ! Please do not give this person business ! You don't even deserve the one star !!! read more

I love Milena. I have her fix my dresses every year. I attend a formal party yearly and always need a little something done. We moved away two years ago and I still drive over two hours each way to have her work on my dresses. She is very talented and cares about her work! I'm super picky so I will make the drive! read more

I took my wedding dress here to be altered and the woman who altered my dress was extremely rude to me. She repeatedly asked me if I was pregnant. When I told her "no" the first time she asked me 2 other times as if she thought I was lieing to her. I just ordered a dress that was too small damnit!! She made me feel very uncomfortable and I felt like I was burdening her. My dress almost wasn't ready by my wedding and when I got it back it was too big on the bust. I had to wear it anyways though because my wedding was the next day! She refused to give me a guestimate quote and in the end she charged me $500 to alter my dress....yeah...be warned! read more

Amazing is the best word to describe Milenas! I brought in a dress that I loved but wanted duplicated in white. She not only duplicated it to a T but she improved it! It's stunning! So got dress 1 done, and I see a beautiful dress on her mannequin and I inquire about it. Try it on and it was MADE for me. Amazing! Only problem the slip underneath the sheer fabric was way too short. And it was a little too revealing. So Milena changed the two things that weren't perfect for my body type, and I am beyond in love with it! So beautiful! So happy with her work! Definitely recommend her to anyone who wants beautiful work done! She will now be the only one I go to for alterations! read more

She did a fantastic job! With what needed to be done to my dress was a major alteration! I just went in today for a final fitting and it was perfect!!!! She even sewed the belt onto the dress and with that extra fabric she made a small accent bow that will be added to the dress! Everything she did was perfect and stunning! I definitely recommend her for any alteration. Thank you Milena! read more

Milena's is amazing. I brought in my wedding dress to have altered as it was a little small. Milena took out the zipper and added a lace up back She recommended I take off the straps and add bra inserts. In addition she made a modification to the bottom of the dress so it would flow better The dress looks amazing. Milena is so sweet. Her prices are great and she finished my dress earlier than estimated. Milena is the gal you want for your alterations read more

I've been to Milena's alterations twice now, once to make my wedding dress from scratch, and once to alter a women's suit. The wedding dress process was very stressful and it was ill fitting and bunchy in the end. Even though she had over six months to make the dress and said it would be ready a month before the wedding, she didn't finish until the night before. Really, the night before your wedding, when you see that the sleeves are boxy, the shoulders are puffy, the beading isn't crystal like she said she would order, the bodice bunches up around your waist, and she never sewed bra cups into the dress as promised...what are you supposed to do? There was no time left to make changes, so I wore it with a smile but was very disappointed. Milena's shop is very messy and disorganized, but you will see some beautiful dresses in there. I figured her talents must lie in altering pre-made things, so I took the chance and brought in a women's suit. I told her I loved the way it looked and fitted, but the sleeves were too long and I wanted a hidden snap on the shirt to make extra sure the buttons didn't pucker at the breast when sitting during an interview. In my opinion, Milena destroyed it. I will have to go back and buy another suit and ask a different tailor to shorten the sleeves and add a snap. I payed $120 to throw out a suit today. Milena has strong opinions about what looks good and what doesn't and she will argue with you if you don't like something about the way your clothes are turning out. On both occasions, whenever I voiced concerns, no matter how frank I was about what I thought, she just insisted it was great. "Who said frumpy?! Where? It looks beautiful, PERFECT!!" read more

Melina was recommended to me by the alterations person that Always Elegant Brida in Chicol. My mother of the bride dress needed to be taken in a little. I went in for a fitting, she pinned it and said it would be done in a week. I went in for a fitting a week later. She had taken it in way too much! She told me I had eaten too much lunch. It fit worse after she had worked on it then it did before I took it in. I ended up paying her and taking my dress to another alterations lady that came highly recommended. I put the dress on for her and she said she would see what she could do. Milena had taken it in way too much. There was not enough fabric left to let it back out. It's just 3 weeks before the wedding. I'm having to buy a new dress and start all over again. I can't say enough negative about the job she did! She ruined my dress!! read more

Milena is truly a master of her craft! Milena has done many alterations for me and my family over the last 10 years and just recently added some bra cups and boning to a bridesmaid dress for me. I also referred my friend (the bride) and Milena added a corset back to her gorgeous gown and made her a custom lace bolero number to cover her top section down to her elbows. It was STUNNING and Milena even added a sparkle detail to match the jewels on the gown. If you show her a picture of something she can make it! You will not be disappointed with her work. I'm extremely picky and do not let things slide. Milena's seams are perfect, the fit is always like a glove and she is fast! She had my bridesmaid dress ready in days! She will work with any time frame as long as you let her know ahead of time. She is so sweet and I completely trust her with any work I send her way. Oh and her pricing is totally fair. I think I paid the same for this dress as I did on the one she fixed 10 years ago! So make sure you tip her if you are pleased with her work as her prices don't match her craftsmanship. I don't give out 5 stars easily but giving Milena 5 stars is a must :) thank you Milena for taking such good care of your customers! We appreciate you! Sarah read more

I have taken several items to Milena and the work is suburb. I could not be happier. Her prices are extremely reasonable and Milena herself is just a nice person. And, she has been very timely in finishing the work in the time frame given. She deserves each and every one of these five stars. I am looking forward to having her make a jacket for me as she is an experienced tailor. read more

If you are looking for a shop that will give you personalized service, I recommend Milena's. She altered a bridesmaid gown for a wedding, she let the gown out an inch, replaced the original zipper, added straps and some fabric to the neckline. She knew my by name when I came for my fitting and was very helpful. Her prices are very reasonable, and I prefer the personal service that I recieved from her over the assembly line service you would normally get at a place like David's Bridal. read more

I brought my wedding dress to milena feb and was promised a pick up date of 5/1. I contacted her and was told 5/15. I called 5/15 and was told 5/20. I called 5/20 and was told she hadnt even started it! When I came in to try it on she clearly rushed on it because the lining was uneven and my measurements were off by a long shot. I finally got my dress back 5/30 however it was so dirty! She didnt clean or press it and I had to pay an additional 150.00 at the dry cleaners. She quoted me 380.00 and tried to charge me 500.00 because she had to add fabric. I would not reccomend this place to anybody! read more

Got my grandmother's wedding dress (which my mother also wore) redesigned. Let's just say I could have done a better job and I have no experience. One of the bra cups was upside-down, there are seams in the front of the dress, the ruching looks like it was done in 5 minutes, and the satin buttons are crooked down the back. My wedding is in 2 months....and I have to rush to, essentially, have this redesigned AGAIN. Waste of money and time. read more
