Milda's is a cute family owned neighborhood cafe. The servers were singing along with the radio as we sat down. Lot of great food including roasted chicken. It's pretty informal, so if you need something get someone's attention instead of waiting. I highly recommend Milda's if you like friendly neighborhood places.

Pasty with gravy (no longer served with coleslaw)

This place has been an institution in the neighborhood for years. I have been coming here for the last 15 years and have loved it. Their breakfast and pasty were always a go to. Went there after a while today for lunch. They were short staffed. So it took a few to get service. Once we got our order in for our pasty, the food came out fairly quick. There must have been a change in their recipe because the pasty was spiced differently than before and the meat to potato ratio seemed off too. More than that, it was cooked all the way in the thickest parts. Which was unfortunate as I was looking forward to a pasty from Milda's. I know they changed ownership a few years ago. And maybe they were just having a bad day. I will try it again and give it a chance but I do miss the old Milda's and the hometown diner feel where you were family when you went.

Country fried steak and eggs 5/5

Craving diner dive food but in a more relaxed eating environment? Milda's is a great choice. We have been meaning to try this place for years and glad we finally did. Breakfast options are fantastic. Food is fresh, hearty and delicious. Coffee is good. The service is friendly, prompt and helpful. If you're not a breakfast person, they also serve sandwiches, burgers, salads and broasted chicken. Support a local restaurant while getting your fill.

Had a great first experience this morning at Milda's! Staff was friendly and helpful with the ordering process. Seating was plentiful and the cafe was very clean. Food was absolutely delicious! Cooked to order perfectly and what better finish than a caramel roll. Country fried steak was so tender underneath a layer of sausage gravy! Hash browns were crispy and the chicken sausage had great flavor. All around great breakfast can't wait to revisit Milda's!

8/10 - nice fast friend service. The philly scramble will definitely leave you bloated, but it was 1000% worth it. Also, their food is quite greasy if you're okay with that. P.S. when you're here, you HAVE to get the caramel roll. It's sweet, gooey, and just straight up delicious. Follow me @ hweedafoodie for more reviews!!

This "blink and you'll miss it" spot is definitely a not to miss location! There was lots of traffic coming in to sit as well as take out. The Denver omelet was flavorful and with the hash browns and muffin made for a hearty breakfast. The Belgian waffle was fine perfect and nice and crispy. Don't miss the homemade caramel rolls! Big enough to share and very tasty. Staff was very friendly making sure everything was perfect. We'll be back!

I absolutely love this place. They are truly iconic with awesome staff. I would go here every day if I lived closer. Seriously, such a good vibe with such good food. Massive portions and everything we got was delicious.

A gf and I met for her bday breakfast and she chose Milda's Cafe. It has a convenient location of Glenwood Avenue in North Mpls, a few blocks from Penn Avenue, with business hours of Mon-Fri 6am-3pm. If you don't know the story of Milda's, it's a neighborhood staple. It's been around since1965. The owners lost their lease in the '90s. The neighborhood feared they would close down or re-locate, so regulars and a neighborhood church bought a nearby building to house the diner.. and viola ... you have Milda's today. Pretty nice, right? You walk in and the atmosphere is bustling with people who seem to be regulars and know one another or individuals conducting meetings. I've never been inside Milda's and it was empty... ever. You're usually greeted by a nice woman who allows you to pick your own seat. Tons of window seats to choose from. This particular day, my gf was already seated, so I just joined her in our window booth. Turns out I grew up with our server as kids in BP and hadn't seen each other in about 30 years. Menu is simple breakfast and lunch type menu. The have chicken and waffles available, daily specials, broster chicken and grits. Not just grits, because a lot of restaurants SAY they make grits, but these grits are good. They aren't runny, they are thick and they are made well. Did I say they have good grits? Food: My bestie ordered the denver omlette, grits and coffee and I had eggs hashbrown and sauage patties and ordered some broaster chicken to go for my lunch. (honestly the chicken wasn't as good once it cooled off), but the breakfast was decent and hit the spot. Service: Great service. Attentive. Kind. Personable. Ambiance: Comfortable. Cozy. Clean. Will I return? I always do eventually.

Coffee, grits, sausage and cheese omelette with half an avocado and wheat toast.  Pretty good!  ;)

The restaurant is quite large and super cute. We were greeted and seated right away. The walls have fun little things written in chalk and it is very bright and cheery inside. We received the menu and waited a bit before our order was taken. We did not need to wait long for our food to arrive. My daughter and I ordered the same thing with slight variations--Two Eggs, Potatoes, and Toast. I chose the Hen Potatoes which were amazing! Tender on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside--not greasy at all. My daughter had the hash browns, which were just as good--not greasy, but perfectly crisp and flavorful. The seven grain toast and jam were great and our scrambled eggs were cooked just how we like. My daughter also ordered a fruit cup, which was filled with a bigger variety of fruit than she expected and she loved it. I ordered a side of bacon and it was delicious. While the food wowed us, our service was just okay. She was polite enough, but did not check on us until we were well into our meal. Thankfully, we didn't need anything. Our check and my payment were dealt with promptly, which we appreciated. We also ordered a caramel roll to go and were very glad we did. Super tasty and not overly sweet. If you are in the area, stop in. You will not regret it. The prices are higher, but it is worth every penny. We will definitely be returning when we are in the area.
