We needed a tree service to cut down a dying elm tree and the dead portion of a tree limb. Both hung over the house and threatened to damage our roof. After getting three estimates, we chose Mike's Tree Service. It wasn't the lowest estimate, but it was close and Jason was very responsive when I contacted him for an estimate. Jason and his employees arrived on time. The job took about 45 minutes to an hour. The crew was very careful with limbs that loomed over the roof and made sure they did not hit hard when they fell. The elm tree was cut so close to the ground that it was hard at first to see the stump! After the job was finished, the crew cleaned and hauled away everything. There are no limbs left on the roof or in the yard. The only thing left is that almost-invisible stump. I heartily recommend Mike's Tree Service. read more

Jason and his team were great. He responded quickly when I was getting estimates through Yelp, came out pretty quick and got me on the schedule within 2 weeks. I needed two trees cut down - one was pretty large and the other was dead. I had two other companies come out - one was $300 more and the other was nearly double the amount (though that included some stump grinding which Jason did not do - he is sending a separate guy out). It was insane to watch how quickly they worked and how quick the tree came down. 30+ years to grow and down in 10 seconds. They were quick, efficient and professional. These guys did a terrific job with trimming back neighbors crape myrtles from our roofline. Forty/plus feet tall! The fence line had massive oak limbs on our roof which they carefully removed and no damage to our neighbors tree. They trimmed the front oak and it is balanced and healthy. Cleanup was excellent. Had Mike's come out last summer to lift and trim the oaks by my house, and this saved me from possible roof damage during this storm! I had some branches higher in the trees break, but none fell on the house! They came out this weekend and made quick work removing broken branches at the top of my trees and hauled away smaller branched that made it all the way to the ground. This is my first review where no goods or services were purchased. I called Mike's Tree Service earlier this week and spoke with Jason. We have a large oak in our back yard that we wanted to get trimmed because it was getting close to our house. Jason offered to come by our home and take a look while we were at work. Jason called me back later that day. To my disbelief, Jason recommended that we do nothing! He gave me a detailed explanation as to why no trimming needed to be done at this time and to wait about a year! I was amazed at his honesty and integrity. I've worked with Jason at Mike's tree service 3 times now. I've always had a 5 st experience. He is great at communication, they do a great job for reasonable prices, and they clean up everything before they leave. But here's what set them apart from most of the others: After this recent ice storm, our neighborhood looked like a war zone with all the downed branches from the oak trees. I reached out to Jason on behalf of myself plus 3 of my neighbors. We had all had what seemed to be damage to our trees and wanted him to take care of them. When he came out for the estimate, he told two of the four households that no work was necessary. The trees were still healthy and would fill in the gaps over time. For the other two homes who needed their trees repaired, the price was so reasonable, as if it was a normal time of the year. This is so commendable because: 1. He wasn't trying to get money out of each household. He was honest in his assessment and saved two of us from having to spend a dime. 2. In a month where all of the tree services are slammed with more business than they can handle, and therefore, are charging triple their normal fees; Jason is still charging fair and reasonable prices. I am updating my review because they did come back and address the issue and said they will be out tommorow. They're very nice, but they didn't read my first email and then didn't complete the job on our house. He then texted me about payment and I told him that the job wasn't done as requested and I couldn't pay them until it was done correctly. He said they would come back out and fix it as I requested, however it's been several days and they still haven't finished the job. They seem like nice people and are very responsive, but I don't like how much work I've had to do to get the job done and it still isn't.
