We had received a couple of quotes prior to Grace coming out but she proved herself to be the most knowledgeable and the quote was very reasonable. In fact, she pointed out a tree experiencing a fungus issue that everyone else completely missed. We are extremely happy with the pruning work done by the crew. We have quite a few, tall oaks on our property so it took about a day and a half to complete. Everyone was fantastic, friendly and did a great job of cleaning up and hauling away everything pruned. My concern is about a female employee of Cathey's Tree Service without eye protection while operating a machine that grinds up trees. A friend of mine was without eye protection, and a projectile strock him in the eye. He was so badly injured that could not return to his job. He was forced to go on Social Security Disability Insurance. Folks must protect their eyes, please. read more

We just had a great experience with Catheys Austin Tree Service. We had a huge tree limb fall last night from our neighbor's tree. I mean size-of-a-bus huge!! I reached out to a few tree removal companies as soon as we woke up. Recently had doug and his team out to trim two of my trees that were very overgrown and to remove two trees that were overcrowding my front lawn. Communication was easy and quick. We first discussed the job through text and I wanted to compare other quotes. When i decided i liked doug's reputation and customer service the best we booked the job. He was available really quickly due to another job falling through. The team showed up exactly when they said they would. They took a once around the lawn and doug called me to tell me exactly what they were going to do. He also warned me that the two trees they were going to trim would look very different after the work was done since they were so overgrown. I had assumed that from prior experience but it was very kind of him as i know that it can be shocking. They worked quickly and neatly and didn't leave a single sign they had been there. I believe the price was very fair for the job performed and payment was easy. I was emailed an invoice within the hour and could pay online. Not to mention doug followed up after the job to make sure i was completely satisfied and offered to come out to fix anything i thought needed attending. However I reassured him that the work is perfect. But you cant beat customer service follow up. He really cares! I am entirely pleased with the work done and my property has never looked better. HUGE shout out to Cathey's Tree Service! Doug is the owner but Shane (his son) came out this afternoon to service our trees, which were in dire need of help after the big ice storm. We had done what we could with a pole trimmer, but still had 4 trees (3 Live Oak and 1 Shumard) that had branches dangling 40 feet up that we couldn't reach. Shane and his team of 4 were remarkably efficient in scaling the trees, cutting down the severed branches, and feeding them into a chipper - they even raked up after themselves and swept our driveway! They were also super careful not to damage any of the intact plantings (bushes, flower beds, etc.) under the work areas. It was like a well-oiled machine! Did it all in 1.5 hours, for a very reasonable price. We are THRILLED with their work and will definitely call them again for any future tree service that we may need. read more

We have a fantastic old live oak in the back yard, but it was drooping over the fence, shed, and roof, blocking all light to the lawn, had a lot of interior "junk" branches and clutter. I knew it was well past my pole saw abilities, but kept putting off a call. I'd heard of Cathey's Tree Service, and seen good reviews, so that's who I reached out to when I finally picked up that phone. Grace came out and "walked the property" with me (ok, the front and back yards) and had some great suggestions that went along with exactly what I wanted. When they came to do the work, I was amazed at the speed, the quality of the team, and the care they took with the cutting. The "main" tree looks fantastic, and they did a little trimming on some other trees to help keep squirrels off the roof. All Great. And cleanup, wow!
