Did a good job on the tree in front, but I should have supervised the service on the back trees. Left a cut branch in my large oak out front. Disappointed considering the cost in relation to the time spent. Had them do work for me before, so I put trust in them since past jobs were done well. Something obviously has changed. 10 trees on my lot. Raise the canopy, remove dead limbs, remove mistletoe, check tree condition and health, seal live oak wounds, and remove all trimmings. A team of 4 arrived and completed the work quickly with no problems. A good trim at a great price. Mike's is very busy this time of year, and you pay with check or cash, so plan ahead. The crew is so fast they will be gone before your neighbors know what's happening. They haul everything away which is very convenient. They know how to use climbing equipment so height is not a problem. Several of the trees on my lot are mature and around 30 feet and higher. No problem for Mike's team. I'm very happy with the work and call Mike's once a year or when icing damage happens. My lot looks much better front and back. Called these guys since my wife forbids me to do any tree work above 6ft. (Shes seen one to many incidents in her ER days) Anyway, I had a great experience using this company to remove some dead/dying branches and clean up some mistletoe off my elm trees. They responded very quickly to my initial request and were able to complete the work very quickly due to a last minute opening in their schedule. Big win for me! I unexpectedly had to run to work in Dallas on the day we had scheduled, but they assured me that it wasn't any problem and they would get it done without anyone home. While I was a little nervous that they might miss something, I was beyond impressed with how everything looked when I got back home from Dallas. In a matter of a few hours they opened up our back yard by removing a dozen hackberry trees and hauling them away. I can't say enough good things here. I needed to have a big oak in my front yard trimmed, and I was getting some astronomical quotes from other services. But when I messaged Mike's on my Yelp app, not only did he reply quickly, he actually gave me a quote that came in at half the price of most of the other guys and in one case, even a third. I was amazed, and given all the good reviews, I hired him on the spot. He was able to put me on the schedule three weeks out and even confirmed with me the day before. They did an awesome job in our backyard! They were wash to contact and came out for an initial consultation at no charge. Jason gave us a quote via text that day and it was very reasonable compared to a couple other quotes we had. We had to schedule the service about a month out since they were pretty busy (I can see why!). Jason and his team of 3 other guys came out and quickly lifted the tree branches above our roof and pruned a couple large trees in our yard. They also cleaned up an area with a stump and then sent out a different guy in the next day or so to grind it down. Payment is also easy and convenient; we mailed a check to them after the stump guy was completely finished and all work was complete. We needed a tree service to cut down a dying elm tree and the dead portion of a tree limb. Both hung over the house and threatened to damage our roof. After getting three estimates, we chose Mike's Tree Service. It wasn't the lowest estimate, but it was close and Jason was very responsive when I contacted him for an estimate. Jason and his employees arrived on time. The job took about 45 minutes to an hour. The crew was very careful with limbs that loomed over the roof and made sure they did not hit hard when they fell. The elm tree was cut so close to the ground that it was hard at first to see the stump! After the job was finished, the crew cleaned and hauled away everything. There are no limbs left on the roof or in the yard. The only thing left is that almost-invisible stump. I heartily recommend Mike's Tree Service. read more
