Priscilla at Austin Tree Surgeons is amazing. I reached out in Monday. She came out on Tuesday and then explained her quote over the phone, before emailing it. The quote was very reasonable and she had a team out by Friday. This is the 3rd time we've had the trees trimmed, but the first time I got a reasonable quote by an arborist. For once the triangle worked, good quality, timely and at a reasonable price! read more

They had someone come out right away. The estimate was very reasonable and the crew came out very soon after. They did an awesone job. The whole experience was very good. read more

This firm is not competent. After an arborist did an onsite inspection, they sent equipment that could not access the property. A second inspection by the arborist resulted in the same equipment being dispatched, with the same results. On each occasion they were several hours late. They knew I was driving from Houston for the work. read more

We have very large homegrown oaks that we have trimmed about every 3 years. Austin tree surgeons sent Sean out very quickly to give us an estimate. He was knowledgeable and easy to work with. SEan also worked with our schedule. The crew that he had on the project was headed up with Jonathan and Brian. They were hard-working, efficient and had an eye for exactly what each tree needed with the trim. Everything looked great and they cleaned up the property very well. It's been a long time since I stepped back and took a look at all the trees and said, "wow that was a great job!" I am giving them five stars because of the work the crew did. But I would like to say to the company that the truck leaked oil and antifreeze on the driveway and on the street. Hopefully they will read this and take care of maintenance on the truck. read more

We had Austin Tree Surgeons assess the health of several of our palm trees, and we couldn't be more impressed. Sean was an absolute pleasure to work with--professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to going above and beyond. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly and made sure we felt confident in the care plan. Highly recommend their services! Thank you Sean! read more

We have used Austin Tree Surgeons for years. Their arborists do an excellent job of assessing the work to be done. The trimmers do an excellent job, and the price is reasonable. In the event something is missed. they immediately come back to take care of it. Good customer service. read more

Beware!!!! We have used Austin Tree Surgeons twice now paying them over $30k for pruning of our very large pecan trees. We had a great experience the first time, but the second time was a different matter. Upon completion of the job, we were happy, but did not do an inspection of our roof. A couple months later, we realized that a tree branch had punctured our roof causing major leaking. We called our roofer to come take a look and they confirmed that it wasn't from a branch just falling as there are no trees around the area of the hole and there was no branch on the roof, but there were fresh cuts on a nearby tree. I realized that we'd had our trees trimmed a couple of months before. The roofer took pictures and repaired the roof. We have a tile roof and it had broken over 20 tiles and left a 10'' hole in the roof, but all that was left was a cut off portion of a branch. Upon contacting the owner of Austin Tree Surgeons, his response was that we had an old roof (which is not true - it's a tile roof that lasts a lifetime) and responded rudely through email basically saying you can't prove it! No phone call or site visit was made. I truly believe that a branch was dropped when they were removing it from the near by tree causing the damage......and then they just cleaned up their mishap. Obviously I can't prove that, but other professionals agreed that it didn't happen naturally. True - they trimmed our trees well, but if anything happens during that time, I wouldn't expect them to even make an attempt to make things right. I'm sure many people say this, but we have NEVER written a bad review for any service provider, but we felt it was necessary to let people know what they may be getting into when they hire Austin Tree Surgeons. They have definitely lost a customer with REALLY big trees..... read more

I received fast service, good communication, and the trees appear strong and healthy. Would recommend.

We needed some of our trees trimmed quickly for insurance purposes, and Austin tree surgeons came out quickly to determine what they needed to do! The arborist made sound and well thought out decisions, and took his time to decide what needed to be done. He even agreed to meeting with the team trimming the trees on the day of the job. On top of all this, the price was around or below some of the other quotes we got for the same job. Highly recommend and will likely be using them for future jobs. read more

I'm going to review today and finish review tomorrow as the project will be done tomorrow. I set up 6 different appointments to get bids for tree trimming. The trees were damaged during ice and hail storm with heavy branches damaging my truck. Several of the bidders were arborists working for companies specializing in trees. We also had other staining/projects for companies that provide those services. We were very impressed the the Arborist. She was excellent in seeing what needed to happen. The pricing was the best. For the tree trimming bids, 4 were between $308 and $359. Tree specialists gave the best bids and their expertise showed. With one exception the all care providers were very pricey including one bid for $695. The company that will do the staining/painting was 1/3 of the the highest bid. This company has been exceptional so far. I'll review again tomorrow with the results. If you're spending your money get numerous bids. The work is complete. Crew arrived, got the work complete, cleaned up all debris. Outstanding! read more

They offered a good price and stuck to it. They did the job as described, came when they said they would, cleaned up after themselves, and left things in good shape. Can't ask for much more than that. read more

I couldn't be happier with the customer service with Austin tree surgeons. After contacting them on Tuesday for an estimate, an arborist came out on Wednesday to review my request and provide an estimate. On Thursday the crew came out and trimmed up both the specimen oak trees as well as the native oaks in the backyard as well as two fruit trees. Everybody was courteous, kind, and professional. The crew leader even checked in at the end of the service to make sure we were happy with everything and then made a few more cut on a couple of our trees on our request. Their estimate was also cheaper than several others so it was a win-win situation for everybody. read more

We had some tree work that needed to be done and while that work was being performed, a hail storm came through the Austin area and wreaked a little tree havoc. Austin Tree Surgeons did a great job. They are professional and know their business. read more

TLDR: Crew damaged our tree and management lacks integrity. I've used Austin tree surgeons in the past and received good service, however I recently had them back to my house to remove a large elm that was in bad shape from carpenter ants and to clean up a couple other trees. The arborist who initially came out was great and I do not fault her for this bad service. The crew that did the work was careless and disrespectful to our space and the other surrounding plants. The crew trampled plants in our easement as they were hauling off branches. After the crew left, we noticed that our fig tree (that was not anywhere close to the trees being serviced) had been split in half. This is a rare type of fig that we grew from a tiny start and was finally producing fruit. There is no reason that branches should have dropped near the tree, and the crew did not mention the damage. I complained to the company and was told that the fig tree would likely recover. I was asked by the arborist if I wanted to see if we could get a discount for this and I said yes. The discount that was offered to me was $50 off on a bill that is over $2,000. This is unacceptable. I will not use their services in the future and warn others of the management's lack of integrity. Update in response to management's post: This is the husband that the business owner referenced and attempted to put words in my mouth. I noted that the tree would "probably" recover. For reference it was not a limb, it was half the tree. And while fig trees are fast growing as the owner noted, this tree was a 3 year old specialty sourced variety of fig known as an Adriatic JH. The tree was grown from a small cutting over the last three years and management's offer to replace it with another fig tree is not realistic as sourcing this specific fig at this age is not possible. Instead of attempting to misconstrue the events, management would be better served by simply taking responsibility and honestly owning their mistake. read more

We had an old tree in our front yard die. Austin Tree Surgeons had an arborist out very quickly to diagnose the issue and recommend removal. A very reasonable quote was sent to me same day. When I was ready, they had a crew out the next day. Expert and efficient removal! They trimmed the other trees as well. Highly recommend. Will definitely be my go to for tree services going forward. I like the piece of mind in having a real arborist running things. read more

The crew did an awesome job on our Live Oak. It was really overgrown and it was trimmed and shaped nicely. The crew was polite and they did an awesome job cleaning up. Emilee in the office was a wonderful help and very kind and professional. I can highly recommend Austin Tree Surgeons! read more

I worked with Austin Tree Surgeons this fall to prune all the trees in my yard (approx. 10). They did a great job shaping the trees and even came back to do some extra thinning of the canopy at my request. They were quick to respond to my communications via phone, email and text. While not the cheapest arborist in town, you get what you pay for and I am very pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend their services, and will be using them again in the future. read more

Called to see if they service Bastrop area and reception said not for anything less than $2,000. I'm in sales myself, and just was completely turned off. Our magnolia tree looks like it could be dying or something wrong with it, holds sentimental value as my dog's ashes are in it. I didn't even both going into it with the person who answered the phone..Little did they know, my husband and I had 10 trees planted on our property from moon valley. They could've won our business for life as we take pride in our yard, trees etc. and paid a pretty penny to get it looking the way it did. If I handled my sales org by initial saying "we can only help if you pay x amount" I doubt I'd be where I'm at. Bedside manner is everything, and they lost more than a 2k pay day from us. Missing the forest for the tress here, Austin Tree Surgeons. read more

They came by the following day, were super quick and a great price! Highly recommended

I would highly recommend Austin Tree Surgeons. Everyone I spoke with was super helpful and kind. The arborist that came out answered all my questions and offered suggestions. The folks that cut the trees were quick and efficient. And the pricing was much better than other companies we had talked with (and the other companies had awful customer service) I will definitely be using them for all of our tree needs moving forward. Thank you, Austin Tree Surgeons! read more

We had to remove a large (25 yr old) magnolia that sustained damage from URI. The large stump that was left needed to be removed to make room for a new tree. I contacted a few businesses before landing on Austin Tree Surgeons. I was able to schedule a time and day for stump removal and within a couple of days the stump was gone. The gentleman who did the work was on time and actually did the grinding in less time than he estimated. I would recommend this company to anyone needing tree services. Austin Tree Surgeons did a trim on our gorgeous oak, and a major trim on 3 other trees, today. Paul from Austin Tree Surgeons came out to do a quote. They were fairly priced for certified arborists and Paul understood my needs and requests. We then scheduled time for a number of weeks later for them to perform the work. Unfortunately it snowed the day they were supposed to come out so we rescheduled for later in the week. This is when the fun starts... Paul shows up with his "crew" and they walk the property with me to review the work. It was a full day job with a crew of 5 guys. Later in the day I went out front to grab the mail and noticed that the trucks with the crew that came to the house were branded A's Tree Service (https://www.yelp.com/biz/as-tree-service-austin-2)... This is when I became suspicious. I asked Humberto if he worked for Austin Tree Surgeons and he said he subcontracts for them. I thought that was a little strange, but I didn't have a problem with the work they were doing so I figured I would address it the following week (they came on a Friday). The following week my neighbor also had his trees trimmed said to me, "Hey I called the folks (A's Tree Service) that came to your house and they quoted be $X price." The price they quoted for a full day of work was 50% the cost of what I payed Austin Tree Surgeons. Mind you Austin Tree Surgeons didn't do the work they subcontracted it to A's Tree Service I called Brad (Owner) of Austin Tree Surgeons and asked him two things: 1) Because we didn't do a full trim on some trees because they were already looking thin does that affect the price? 2) Is it standard practice for Austin Tree Surgeons to subcontract the work to other tree trimming services, because that was never agreed to when speaking with Paul. Brad is about the least customer centric individual in Dripping Springs. He yelled, "We never subcontract work, we have our own crew and that I was surely confused and calling the wrong place." I told him that I have an invoice from Austin Tree Surgeons, but A's Tree Service did the work. He said he's never heard of them and that I am trying to tell him how to run his business, etc etc. Needless to say it was about 6 minutes of Brad being frustrated, yelling and not understanding that the work was subcontracted (potentially without his knowing). Additionally, he got super defensive and accused me of "not being from around here" because of my area code... What does that have to do with anything... I sent him pictures of the truck as proof I wasn't "lying to him." Turns out Paul had a crew not show up so he decided to use the a crew members brother's business (Humberto from A's Tree Service) to do the work at our house. Paul called to inform me he took $200 off because they didn't do a full trim on a clump of trees. This only made the markup 89% instead of the full 100% markup on the subcontractor. Learn from me... Go to Humberto at A's Tree Service and use his crew. They are efficient, cost effective (without Austin Tree Surgeons markup) and have an eye for well manicured oaks. One last thing... after Brad berated me for 10 minutes last week, he still has yet to call and/or email to apologize for the fact that his company did subcontract the work without his knowing. read more

Have been using this company for many years and was very happy with the work. After the ice storm, the arborist was very quick to respond and give me a fair estimate to address the extensive damage done to my live oaks. They sent a crew this morning that had to clue what work needed to be done, just started with the company, and without the safety equipment needed to climb safely in a 60'+ live oak. Big letdown... A huge and heavy pear tree branch fell in my back yard. The tree is aging and fracturing each time there is a wind storm. I requested a quote to aggressively prune the tree away from my roof line, break down the heavy limb, and carry off the debris. Priscilla gave me a reasonable quote for the job. They texted me the schedule and the 4 man crew arrived on time and got it all done in less than 45 minutes. They were professional, worked with safety in mind, and efficient. I will hire Austin Tree Surgeons again for additional tree management. read more

We got several quotes for moss removal and light limb clearing for our home. Austin Tree Surgeons was the lowest bid. We were very impressed with the service. The team showed up in the morning, and swarmed our 4 very large live oaks. They moved quickly, and cleaned up after themselves very well. There was a discrepancy on the work order wherein the person drawing up the quote misremembered the number of trees that we had on the property, but after a phone call, they offered to honor the original price, which was generous of them. There was one more limb that I was pretty sure that we discussed with the arborist who came out to give the quote, but it was apparently also not on the work order, so the team that was out here did not cut it back. The arborist that came out seemed to be in a hurry when giving us the quote, and spent about 5 minutes with us, which I guess was not enough to understand all we were asking for. I think that may have led to some of the hiccups that we had with the work order. Overall, we were very happy with the service, and we will definitely call them again for future trimming and pruning. Even though there were problems with the work order, they were after all honorable enough to stick with the quote that they gave us. We'll call them back to tackle that last limb that we need trimmed some other time. read more

So my giant tree (about 100') out front has a fungus working it's way down its lowest branch & I read about what it was. Found something called Hypoxylon Canker & it can kill the tree if it gets to the trunk. This tree was a factor in us buying the house. It's huge and majestic and awesome so I got really worried because it's gonna be at the trunk in a month or so. Then it's curtains for the tree. I was concerned about finding the right people to help because I didn't want them to be like "O well, there's nothing we can do. Guess you better pay us to cut down your tree." Kind of like when you go to a mechanic or dentist they always find something wrong so they can get paid. So I looked up who had legit, certified arborists & seemed like they care and came to Austin Tree Surgeons. I left a message on a Sunday & within 15 mins of them opening on Monday, I got a call. We're also in the height of the pandemic, so I was unsure if I'd even get a response let alone one immediately. They sent Paul the next day & he was super helpful & knowledgeable. Definitely a legit expert that cared about saving the tree. We're under social distancing right now so when he got to the front yard and checked it all out he called me and we spoke on the phone & gave me the whole run-down. They're also really responsive when you call the office. Like 2 rings and they pick up. They even called back when I butt dialed them yesterday. Wrt to the tree, squirrels likely took a chunk out of the branch & then it spread from there. Paul gave me exactly how to fix it on my own complete with care instructions for after. Then he diagnosed other smaller issues I should be proactive about to give the tree some other help. He was patient while I asked a million questions and had helpful answers for all of them. I'm super happy I chose Austin tree surgeons & I'm so grateful they were able to help me, especially in such crazy times. AND the $150 it cost (which is way cheaper than I expected btw) goes towards cutting the limb off if you want them to do it. We're gonna amputate the bad limb ourselves cuz my wife and I are bosses like that, but that's really cool of them. Definitely money well spent and if you're worried about losing a tree that's dear to you, you can definitely put your trust in them. read more
