These guys are the best...and they are the only company in town that I trust with my trees. They are great at getting back to you, setting up appointments, and showing up when they say they will. Most importantly, though, in the 5 years that I've been using them, they have always taken exceptional care of my trees. Things always look so much better after they are done. Yes, they are a little bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. read more

I had 25 very old oaks given a haircut. Austin Tree Surgeons did an incredible job from start to finish. Very timely, professional, thorough with just excellent service all the way around. I would highly recommend them. If you are in need of quality work Austin Tree Surgeons are worth it. read more

Austin Tree Surgeons did a fantastic job! I was able to get a quote the day I called and my trees were trimmed the next day. I get my trees trimmed every year and they have never looked this good. The cost was more than reasonable and absolutely worth it! read more

Don't deal with this service. Unprofessional and unreasonable. I would look at other options. A check for the full amount of $150 was sent upon and was lost in the mail. I promptly paid when notified they had not received. Even after paid in full the vendor threatened to pull a lien on my home and go to court, called me a crook on top of other numerous insults. I work with many vendors and this is the only one I have had an issue with. Additionally, the vendor did not even notify me that they had visited my property. Brad is a jerk and someone I will never do business with again. An email trail of threats and insults can be posted if need be to prove. A customer should never be treated the way I was with Brad's service. read more

Coming back over a year later to say that there's still no better service to care for our trees. We are so pleased with the expertise ATS brings to our yard. A crepe myrtle that was almost dead a year ago is green and blooming once more, and another that was ill is thick with foliage. Our oaks are strong and some of the biggest in the subdivision, and it's because they've had exceptional care from ATS. We hope to use them for years to come. read more

I had an oak tree in my front yard that died after Winter Storm Uri. I'd held off on removal hoping it would revive in time, but it never did. So recently I contacted 3 different tree services, and Austin tree surgeons was about $1000 cheaper than the other two for tree removal and stump grinding. I also spoke with the arborist before confirming the service, and he took the time to answer my questions and explain what he saw that indicated the tree was indeed dead (I really needed that!). read more

Austin Tree Surgeons came to our rescue after the worst ice storm we have ever seen here in Dripping Springs. They were very reasonably priced for great service and had a hard working very polite team of workers. They cut and sealed all the major breaks and showed up on time and stayed a full day every day until it was done. First class operation! read more

After the 2021 freeze we had a post oak that stopped budding at the ends of most of its limbs. We have been concerned about dead limbs falling but were hesitant to completely cut the tree down. We called Austin Tree Surgeons to have an arborist come out and help us to figure out the best way to care for the tree. They sent an arborist the next day- who confirmed the limbs were dead, but gave us hope that the tree could survive (at least for another few years!) They had a crew out to remove just the dead limbs a couple days later. Within half a week from calling we had our tree all taken care of! read more

Quality work. They trimmed three of my trees in the time frame promised and for the quoted price. All their employees were respectful and courteous. read more

Called Austin Tree with request for quote on 3 live oaks and 1 red oak tree at my Leander home. Had some concern about damage from winter freeze in 2020. Estimator came the same day and inspected the trees and explained the extent to the damage which was superficial. Gave me a quote for pruning which was below my expectation. Ordered service and was schedule in 3 days. Crew as well equipped, polite, efficient, and kept a clean work area in both my yard and that of my neighbors. Would gladly have them back again. read more

I have an acre sized yard with a bunch of live oaks all over. I had a bunch of places come out and quote me on clearing it all. Given how expensive that can be (from 4,000-10,000 depending on the company), I also just wanted to some quotes on timing up the trees around he roof and taking out a couple of problematic trees. While Austin Tree Surgeons was on the expensive side for trimming everything compared to others, they are one of the only ones that segmented out the quote so that I could just go with the immediate need to clear the roof line until I'm ready to spend what it will take to do the full yard. They came out within a week of agreeing to go with them and had a crew of 4 or 5 guys that cleaned up the roof line and took out those 2 trees. Overall it took them a couple hours and they had me come out and show them the before and check the after before the left. I am happy with the service and ok with the price for what I got. Don't know that I'll go with them for the full clean up next year given how much higher their price for that is. read more

Update, for Brad. This appointment was made by my wife. Not going to give her name over a public server. I will add that after we where no showed. I was told by Jessica that she would call me back same day to tell me what went wrong. She first interns then blamed the arborist. No call back waited and called the next day at 2:30 pm. This time the woman that answered said that it was a different woman I talked to the day before and she was on lunch and would call me back. No call back to this point Brad. Finally both the phone numbers that I have called your office on my home number and cell number are blocked. I then used a neighbors cell phone to call your office and the call went thru. We have moved on with your company. But either you are playing a game and trying to look like you care or you don't know what is going on in your office and Jessica isn't being upfront with you. But to call your office from the two contact numbers I have used with your office staff and to get a automated message that the calls can't go thru then to borrow a friends phone and call 2 seconds later and the call goes thru. Sounds fishy to me.. read more

Out of the 2 estimates I was able to get, theirs was cheaper and they could get me on the schedule sooner. Thank you. The crew put away, then back our patio set. Thank you. They announced their arrival but left without a word. They also put away 2 heavy planters but did NOT put them back. They left an empty, crumpled bottle water in the area where they worked, THOUGH the garbage/recycle bin was a few feet away. They left an empty, beverage can behind the AC unit, which was next to the area where they worked, THOUGH the garbage/recycle bin was a few feet away. The job lasted 4-5 hours (through lunch); I know they had ribs because I cleaned up the bones they left on the grass area, near where they worked, THOUGH the garbage/recyle bin was a few feet away. read more

I'm very pleased I hired Brad and his team to prune the trees on our property. We have a mix: older, larger live oaks on the sides of the house, smaller live oaks in the front planted when the neighborhood was developed (10-15 years ago), and in the backyard, a youngish cedar elm and a very large, circular motte of old live oaks. The older trees were thinned out, cleaned up, and raised so no one has to duck around the yard any more. Same thing with the newer trees-- the beauty of the work with these, though, is that they now actually look like trees versus giant shrubs on a trunk. The brush was hauled away and the yard was left spotlessly clean. Aside from the great-looking trees, you wouldn't have known they were there. Everyone involved was a pleasure to deal with and they finished the job right at their very fair original estimate. Having professionals prune your trees can get a little spendy, but here in the land of oak wilt, I believe it's money well spent. Disease aside, the beauty of a job done correctly is worth the cost, too. I will hire Austin Tree Surgeons again and I recommend them without hesitation. read more

I have a live oak in my back yard that was here before my house was built in 1941. I don't trust just any dummy to prune it. I have used Austin Tree Surgeons several times to cut it away from my house. Jessica, who took my emails, Paul who came out to estimate the job, and "G" the crew chief were all solid folks to deal with. They scheduled within a week, came when they said they would, and did the job they said they'd do with speed and precision, all at a fair price. I will call them again and recommend them highly. Thanks ATS read more

I am tired of getting wacked in the head. Seriously, how many times in one morning can I get hit in the head. The answer is a dozen. So with a pounding headache, I stop mowing my lawn to check Yelp for a tree trimmer. I bookmarked my choice and visited their site. I filled in the form to get a price estimate. By the next day, I had an email response. I told him that I had a large oak tree that needed trimming. It is nice that it blocks my view of the over the fence houses. Brad was able to come by the following day to look at my tree while I was at work. I only have one huge tree which in my backyard. My neighbors on both sides have trees that hang over into my property. Brad recommended trimming back the branches of my neighbor's trees so they don't touch my house. Over the phone he gave me a rough estimate of $500.00. I was taken back at the amount, so Brad told me to think about it and he will email me the detailed quote. I looked over the quote and most of the cost was for my Head Wacking tree. So I go for the whole package. I called Brad and told him to trim it all. He and his crew came the next day, and they emailed me an invoice. Very trusting but I guess they know where I live. The job they did was outstanding. My tree was thinned out and all the low hanging branches were gone. Even with this trim, it still blocked me from seeing my neighbor's house. That means I can continue nude sunbathing in my backyard. Their prices may be a bit high but the job they did was well worth it. read more

Great Service! I'm very happy with the whole process with Austin Tree Surgeons. Their crew did a great job, from trimming my trees to cleaning up afterwards. Great price, very professional and easy to work with. I'll use them again in the future. read more

Excellent service. They were great with the communication and what to expect and were on time. I would certainly use them again.

They were quick to respond and quoted a reasonable price. The crew came and did an amazing job. They racked and cleaned up.

I never write reviews but felt the need to warn other customers. I received a bid from this company and asked several questions about it. Weeks after I asked them questions, they replied with vague answers, which should've made me walk away. I agreed to have them trim my trees but for some reason they decided to trim three of my six trees and charge me the full bid. On top of that the workers destroyed several plants in the process. But the poor workers!!! The workers, who were really stressed and overextended, told me they had to work another job the same day as mine and would be doing tough manual labor for more than 12 hours that day. Not only that but the company clawed back pay from them! The company actually made the workers pay them a couple hundred dollars from paychecks the company gave them. Why would a company do that? read more

I wanted to compliment Austin Tree Surgeons and Arborist Jessica for their great service. Jessica knows her stuff and it was reassuring to have such a professional check out our tree for issues. Great communications from the company. read more

These guys are great. I just had a big job done (giant tree removed, and another trimmed) and everything about the experience was good. Totally professional. Another company asked for half the cost up front (check only!), and _maybe_ they would do the job in two or three weeks. WTF? ATS did the job just two days after I talked to them, and I was able to pay, online, with a CC the day after. Sweet. read more

UPDATE: Wow, about 15 minutes after I posted this review. The supervisor called to threaten me. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with this company. The crew that was sent did not perform the job agreed upon due to miscommunication/language barrier. I spoke on the phone with the arborist who was short with me and was not willing to find a solution. I then spoke with a supervisor who noted that the problem was communication but then was unwilling to communicate with the crew to help them understand. If the problem is miscommunication, then the solution is communication. I'm extremely disappointed because I had made other appointments for services in my yard that were dependent on my trees being trimmed on the agreed upon day. Response to their reply: This information is completely false. I asked the crew to social distance and not touch my children's toys. There was a language barrier. The supervisor that called me told me he knew his workers were "not watching White House briefings everyday" and agreed that there was a lack of understanding but that the company couldn't force them to do the job. I recorded him saying this. I am a nurse and am well aware of guidelines. I have received emails, a text, and a phone call threatening me since I posted my negative review. I'm really disappointed with the way this company has continued to handle this issue. read more

Austin Tree Surgeons is reliable, honest, considerate of budgets, and puts their customers first. We have called and had their certified arborists come out on 2 occasions to (free of charge btw) diagnose concerns we had. They were honest on whether or not it would be reasonable to treat the issue and what to do about the problem. We had them come out again to give a (free again) estimate on tree trimming as well. We have a large property and they broke it down in sections for the estimate. The crew they had come and do the job was incredibly industrious, thorough, respectful, and exceedingly careful of all the things that were in their way--string lights, a cabana, roofs, our pool, planting beds, bird baths, etc. They also cleaned up afterwards super well. Austin Tree Surgeons is a local small business--and a fantastic one at that. I highly recommend them for your needs read more

Very helpful with my Large Oak trees. They were well pruned by a knowledgeable crew. They didn't ask for a deposit on the job and billed me after the job was completed. I've since hired Austin Tree Surgeons to tear my trees with an organic oil treatment to keep the hydrated and healthy. I highly recommend this company for pruning and treatments. read more

Outstanding service from office staff, arborist to tree trimming crew. After the latest ice storm I had broken tree branches to my live oaks, and after receiving an estimate from one of the arborists I called to make arrangements for the trees to be cut and sealed, and asking if these could be taken care of by the end on the month (February). Although they could not guarantee date, one of their crews arrived on 24th Feb and took care of all the cleanup. Great job, many thanks, Brian U read more

Highly recommended - arrived on time and did a meticulous job cleaning up the back of the property. Priced right.

Like a lot of other people in Austin, one of my live oak trees died in last year's freeze. I followed the recommendation from the Texas forestry service and waited to see if it would leaf out. Well, here it is winter again, and not a leaf on it. I applied for a permit from COA to take it down and started calling tree companies for estimates, and by the time COA issued the permit, I'd selected Austin Trees Surgeons to take it down. I got estimates from 6 companies. Worth the extra effort because the top and bottom bids were $8k apart. Austin Tree Surgeons was not the lowest, but I was concerned with more than price. I wanted a reputable company that had its business filings in order because this was a MASSIVE tree and I was concerned about liability in case something went wrong. Insurance issued in the name of a company that isn't incorporated and has never been listed on the Secretary of State's website as an entity or DBA (assumed name) might or might not pay out, y'know? Well, I'm happy I hired ATS. They showed up with a large crew and not only was that tree down safely by the end of the day without incident or injury to anyone, but other than the sawdust, they left my yard cleaner than when they arrived. They accommodated requests from some of my neighbors to leave some of the wood to cut up for firewood and the crew were all really pleasant and respectful of me, the neighbors, and my property. I cried to have to take this magnificent tree down (stressful experience for sure), but the company was great to work with and I was happy to pay the bill. Job well done. I would hire them again for sure. read more

We have used Austin Tree Surgeons on 3 occasions now, and they are amazing. Everyone from their scheduling staff to the technicians they have sent are super professional and have spent time with us answering all of our questions. These guys are incredible and the name of their company couldn't be more perfect. My whole interaction with them was outstanding and the job was very important to us because our entire house is built around 3 giant oak trees with all windows facing the trees. They were highly responsive to my outreach, super efficient at scheduling a consultation, and very communicative and prompt. They reviewed our large oak trees professionally and thoroughly, listened well to our needs of trimming a large branch that was leaning onto our roof, and also suggested trimming deadwood with rationale that I trusted and did not believe was salesy. They day they came, they were awesome: they were extremely efficient, extremely thorough in removing all deadwood, took a lot of care to protect our house while trimming, they were very strong at making decisions to ensure the highest aesthetics of the trees were maintained (they even cleaned up the neighbor's bad trim of our tree that went into their yard), they took good care of the trees themselves to prevent future fungus growth, and they were meticulous at cleaning up all branches, leaves, and every last acorn from our property before leaving. I'm usually quite disappointed by service folks but I insisted on a high five from each of these guys and profusely thanked them before they left. read more

They were very quick but didn't complete the job I asked them to do.
