After a very windy day in Austin, one of my half dead trees in my backyard became split through the middle and looked like it was hanging on by a thread. We hired them to trim our trees, they did an excellent job and cleaned up all the branches in our backyard. However, I'm giving a 1 star because the owner gave me a nasty look when I asked him nicely to please seal the parts of the trees to prevent oak wilt. Secondly...the worst part of our experience with them was, for some reason, another tree guy showed up at my house, 30 minutes before Cristobel's team showed up. He told me he was with your company, and then we find out later on from you he was not! Then he went over to my neighbors tree to start cutting it down! It was absolutely horrible! Apparently, this guy was not affiliated with you and we think he was called out to our house to get some money from us! He kept saying he was with your company. All that confusion was made worse by your lack of caring about it. We never found out why he showed up. Thank goodness my neighbors were home and they came outside to help me tell the guy to leave or we will call the police! My neighbor had to tell him many times to get out of her tree! It was very scary and upsetting! We are still mystified as to why another guy from some other tree service showed up at our house, saying he was with your company! Their website says they'e "licensed, insured, and bonded", which is curious since Texas doesn't license tree contractors. I wrote and asked whom they're licensed with? They replied and said they're "registered" with the City of Austin. Well, Austin doesn't have licensing or registration for tree contractors either. So I wrote again and asked, "Your website says you're 'licensed'. What kind of license is that, and who licensed you?" Predictably, I got no reply. They're not licensed, because there's no such thing as licensing for tree contractors in Texas. Liars always get one star. --------------------- REPLY TO OWNER'S RESPONSE: (1) In your replies, you keep saying "registered". I never used the word "registered", I used the word you used on your website, "licensed", that's what I asked about. That's your word, on your website. LICENSED. Not registered, LICENSED. (2) If you maintain that you're really licensed, then fine, EXACTLY WHAT ENTITY LICENSED YOU? You vaguely refer to "licenses are those of arborists", but there is no entity I'm aware of which licenses arborists. So again, WHO LICENSED YOU? The International Society of Arboriculture does *certify* (not license) arborists, but you're not in their database as even being certified by ISA anyway. (3) You asked, "What is your concern?" ?! Since it's not obvious to you, my concern is that you're claiming to have a license that you don't have. You're lying to potential customers. Several branches were dead or dying, most likely the result of last year's ice storm. 7 Tree Services had good prior reviews and responded quickly to my bid request with a good price, so I chose them. On the day of service, Cristobal showed up before the team to assess the situation. He was polite, clean cut, on time, a great communicator and didn't reek of cigarettes. The team arrived shortly afterwards and did a quick job. After removing a large number of limbs I was absolutely shocked to see how clean the area was. There was no saw dust or wood chips left on the ground--this is no exaggeration. The area was spotless. All cut limbs were properly painted.
