First time I used Mike and his crew was 5 years ago extremely short notice. Super professional and quick- I couldn't get over how much care Mike and his guys put into ensuring that nothing gets marred. Second time I used Mike's Moving and Storage was over the last week for a cross country move. These guys ARE THE BEST. Hands down. I've moved 12 times in 15 years and some cross country, and this was the best experience. Even dealing with floods in Baltimore and a record heat wave here in AZ, Mike and his crew made sure the move was pain-free as possible for me (which is great considering I have a broken foot!) This was the easiest cross country move I've ever had. So much attention is paid to making sure each item is packed correctly and Mike really makes sure that your furniture is babies as if it was his own. I really cannot say enough great things about them- I've sent several clients and friends to Mike and even though I'm on the west coast, if I have to move again, you bet I'm going to call Mike and cross my fingers that he can come out here and do his magic again. I have all high end mid century furniture and vintage clothing that I loan to museums- so making sure that NOTHING is scratched or damaged is paramount. In roughly 6.5k lbs that was moved, I lost only 1 drinking glass, a coffee mug and a mirror (that wasn't worth more than $10). And to be fair- the glass and the mug were on me for not packing correctly. These guys are THE best. THE BEST. Mike's Moving was absolutely fantastic! My wife and I needed to move from Baltimore to Grand Rapids MI (for a job) and our window of timeframe was narrowing as we looked around at moving companies. So many of them get bad reviews due to lost or broken items, but we got referred to Mike's and as soon as we reached out he came over to our place to take a look and get a quote together. His price was fair and beat out the (poor) competition, he was sincere, nice, and genuinely cares about his crew and business. He was able to pick our belongings up on the day we needed them picked up and dropped them off at our new apartment in MI on the day and even at the time we needed!! Now thats service! Mike's team came in a wrapped furniture, they were careful, really nice, and just a good group of guys! They were in and out in about 2.5 hours. Mike personally drove the truck with our stuff to MI and arrived at 2pm on the dot (like we agreed) to start unloading, we got everything into our apartment in just under 2.5 hours (in the places we wanted and with setting up furniture). Mike's Moving is the ONLY way to go if you are moving locally in Baltimore or across state lines, support the right businesses, and Mike's Moving is absolutely one of the best companies we had the pleasure to work with! I used Mike's Moving & Storage for my move from Baltimore to Connecticut. They were extremely efficient and took great care of my belongings, making sure everything was wrapped and padded with care. This was my smoothest move yet, and I definitely plan on using this company again in the future. I thought long and hard about going with Mike's Moving & Storage vs. just asking my friends to come and pack a Penske truck. After seeing how well Mike and his crew packed the truck in a manner that utilized as much space as possible to get all of my items to fit on the truck, I realized my friends and I might not have been able to get all of my belongings into the truck. You won't get the same door to door service with the large van lines that you get with Mike's. I got quotes from 4 other companies prior to deciding to go with Mike. Not only was his estimate more reasonable than the other companies, but he also had all my things delivered the next day. The other companies told me there would be a 2-8 day window during which my belongings would be delivered. I couldn't imagine having to pay more to have my items packed onto a smaller shuttle truck that would take my items to a warehouse where they then unload the smaller truck onto a large 18-wheeler, with other peoples belongings only to receive it anywhere from 2-8 days later. Mike and his crew is the best crew I've ever had to work with and I say this from the bottom of my heart man. I found him through a random google search and I'm extremely glad that I came across him. The first time I called him I had some cardboard boxes and suitcases that I had to ship to Istanbul, Turkey. I managed to find an international shipping company that had a ship leaving from Newark to Istanbul and I had only 2 days to get all my stuff to a shipyard in Newark. I called Mike around 6 or 7pm on Wednesday, told him that I had some stuff to be delivered to Newark within 2 days. He literally hooked me up with a truck of his that was going to leave for NY the same night within an hour. He came to my apartment, helped me carry all my stuff, loaded the truck and delivered everything the next morning. Today is my last day in my apartment before I leave the states and go back to Istanbul. I still had some furniture that I had to get rid of and I couldn't find anyone who was interested in buying them. I called him up again and in 45 minutes he showed up at my apartment and hauled all the furniture I have under 30 minutes with a buddy of his. I told him that if he and his family ever want to come through to Istanbul, I would hook him up with some cool spots and restaurants:) Mike! Congratulations yelp reader! Search no further - you have found your next moving company! In all seriousness, I could not recommend Michael and his crew more highly. The exude professionalism. Upon entering our house, they all introduced themselves and shook our hand. Michael did a quick assessment of our boxes and was concerned that it would not all fit on the truck we rented. He recommended reserving a UHaul trailer just in case. (Free to reserve.) He said that he would do his absolute best to get everything on the truck though; it was more for our peace of mind. Michael packed the truck while his 4 assistants brought boxes and furniture outside. They were fast yet careful. My husband and I helped at times - our own choice. However, there were objects which we were politely asked not to move since it would void their insurance. I was impressed that they all knew about their insurance policy and took it seriously. Michael was able to fit everything on the truck masterfully and we canceled the trailer. The void volume was probably 5%. We drove the truck to Chicago (from Baltimore) and nothing moved nor was damaged. I took Michael's business card and gave it to a few friends who are moving shortly. If I were to move again within Baltimore, I would definitely hire Michael and his crew. read more

Mike is the man and so are the men in his crew. I met mike about 4 years ago as he did a small job delivering a very heavy table in a hard to reach place in my home. I was blown away then at the care and professionalism he and his crew displayed. I knew then if I ever needed to move again, I would call Mike and his company. Time went by and I needed my whole home packed in a short period of time and my furniture stored while I found a place cross country to move. Mike was so good - we did business on a handshake and literally I knew my entire home of furniture would be cared for by him as if it were his own. That is exactly what I got - Mike and his crew completed a cross country move for me and once again provided service that far exceeded my expectations - my furniture made it from Maryland to Sedona Arizona a day earlier then promised and in perfect condition - my whole house was moved in within and put together within 8 hours and I was able to finally call my new home - home !!!! Mike and his crew did an awesome job moving me out of my 2nd/3rd floor apartment with no elevator into a new place and then came to my rescue a month later when my new situation did not work out and I needed to move again immediately. As other reviewers have stated, he is a really great guy who is extremely professional and personable and gets the job done efficiently. For my first move, he provided what I would call white glove service, disassembling, wrapping, moving, reassembling, and placing each piece of my extremely heavy custom-made furniture and carefully protecting my artwork. He also stored some additional furniture for me and his price for storage was outstanding. For my second move, I had family members pitch in to help his crew get my stuff out of the new place as quickly as possible and just asked him to get my stuff from one place to the next and we did the furniture reassembly on the other end. Money was tight for me, so we took care of alot of the details he handled for the first move, but he was more than happy to work with me to get me where I needed to be at a price I could afford. Mike and his crew are incredible!!! Just incredible!!!! I've moved a lot In my life and I have never worked with better people. They moved me from one home to another, never complained when the job turned out to be bigger and longer than I had described, packed very carefully and nothing was broken. The second move was more complicated. They had to pick up and move sentiment and fragile items in my mother's estate from Florida to Baltimore. They unpacked everything and put it where I requested and once again, nothing was broken. The third move takes the cake! I had to get a rescue dog (found in a ditch in rural Georgia, scavenging for food and covered with ticks) from my niece's house in Savannah to my house in Baltimore. Mike actually flew down to Savannah, picked up the dog (now known as Alfred) and drove him overnight to his forever home. How do you top that?!? Mike is the find of a lifetime and I couldn't recommend him more highly for whatever type of move you have! read more

I moved between apartment complexes this past fall, and having moved the year prior on my own, I knew I didn't want to enlist friends to lift my larger pieces of furniture and boxes again. I was super late (about a week or two out from my move date) hiring a team of movers, but Mike's was able to fit me in without issue. They sent a team of six guys who were all incredibly friendly and professional, took great care of all of my stuff (carefully wrapping all of the furniture and using a really efficient system to take the boxes), and moved me out of my old place and into the new one in less than two hours (I was moving close by in the same town). It was absolutely the most painless experience I've ever had moving, and I've done it about three times in the last two and a half years. I thought the price was incredibly fair, too, especially considering the excellent job they did and how great the service was. I met Mike back in 1999 working at a bank and he was the first commercial checking account I opened and the first commercial loan I ever did . Over the years, I've built a good relationship with Mike. He has moved my family many, many times. He's moved my daughter, my son, my wife's grandparents, and my in-laws. Most recently, because of the long-standing relationship we had with him, he helped us move from NC to SC. Just last week, he moved my daughter again. He works incredibly hard, but he also has taken the time to get to know my family. Every time we move, he plays basketball with my son. Mike' team is by far the best moving company I have ever worked with! I moved only a few blocks within Baltimore and needed to put almost all my things in storage for a little over 2 months. When the day came to move me into my new home Mike's team was ready at 830am to begin the job! They were so quick and efficient unloading all my boxes and furniture into the new row home in Federal Hill. I was a bit worried about boxing up all my things and storing designer clothing and handbags in a storage faciltity for 2 months, however all my valuables were safe!! Definitley label each box so Mike's team can place the boxes into the correct room! All I had to do after they left was unpack! All my kitchen items were in the kitchen and bedroom items were in the bedroom, much easier to unpack! My fiancée and I have used Mike's moving 5 times over the last 9 years. To put it simply, he and his crew are the BEST! We have done local moves as well as state to state and each time has been easy. Mike, the owner has been present at every move. He is accommodating and anticipates his clients needs. Anything you need during your move, he has it on the truck. He is a lovely , nice, and honest man I would call a friend. His crew is a group of hard working men who have always been respectful of me, my home, and my things. They will break down and pad everything to ensure it arrives in your new home in the same condition it left your old. I have never had anything broken or misplaced. Mike is great! I was all set to move from Baltimore to Delaware on May 14, 2016. The day before the move, the apartment building in Delaware tells me a major bike race was happening the same day of my move and all the streets would be shut down with no entry way until late evening that day. Needless to say, I was not happy at all. I immediately got in touch with Mike and told him the situation. We stayed on the phone until we figured out a solution. Mike worked with me because it was not only an inconvenience to me but to him as well. He agreed to store my stuff and move it to Delaware on Monday. Monday came and Mike was wonderful. He made it to Delaware right on schedule. They unloaded quick and placed each box in each individual room. Mike is very courteous and professional. I met Mike when I worked at Storehouse Furniture. A long time ago. Since then I have taken him to every store I worked for and when I opened my design firm and storefront! I would never use anyone other than Mike for my jobs for one simple fact... HE IS THE BEST!. In all of the years he has move offices, homes or any kind of space that needs help, Mike nor his men have ever nicked a wall, broken a piece or put any piece together anyway but perfectly. I couldn't imagine a better moving experience than with Mike and his guys. I was desperate to find movers last minute and Mike made it happen. They were so attentive and careful with everything and made me feel at ease even with the unfortunate circumstances of my move.....breakup. No matter how you put it moving sucks. Where is the 10 stars box? From the beginning of working with Mike I was at ease. A mover cancelled on me 2 days before my move. I found Mike's Movers on Yelp (with great reviews) and called him up. He found a way to fit me in and gave me a very reasonable quote (please note this is for professional moving... Not the quality of having your friends help you move). I have lots of sentimental things to me and they packed everything, stored it (for a month) and moved it from Baltimore to Philly like true professionals. Big thanks to Rico, Jay and Lem!!! I was frankly blown away. My experience with movers for the last 30 years was varying degrees or displeasure. Mike's outfit on the other hand is extraordinarily professional, friendly, accommodating, and caring. They knocked out my move so quickly- with Mike himself working with an extremely respectful crew of hard workers. They didn't nickel and dime me at all- the quote Mike gave was the price; no gauging for tape or blankets.
