I thought I needed Extra Space Storage for my business but didn't need them after all. It's been 2 weeks and I am still waiting for my return. I'm going to have to cancel my card tomorrow and for them to not issue me a refund when I cancel my order to me is very unprofessional. As a business owner who operates in 2024 it seems rather interesting that your associates are very equipped to handle transactions but none of them can handle a refund? It's a shame because they're 6 minutes from my house and I just won't be using them in the future if none of their staff have the confidence to refund my money. Gregory did a fantastic job giving me a tour and setting up my account! Storage & moving is stressful but his attention to all details and his very pleasant personality were great! He was training a new person who seemed eager to learn and I hope he'll follow Gregory's approach. As Gregory said, it's important to remember that "customer service " is all about helping the customer. What a contrast to CubeSmart (Pleasant St) & Public Storage (N Charles) where no one seemed interested in me becoming their customer (Public Storage was a no show for my appointment). This facility is extremely clean, bright, and serene. Gregory showed me options, discussing how much space I might need and said if I needed a bigger space than I thought we could easily make a switch. read more

Do not get sucked into this place, they rope you into a nice facility with fair pricing, and then use the fine details of their contract that they know nobody reads, and then enact massive price increases at their discretion. And they know your possessions are held hostage so they can get away with it... Expenses of switching facilities prevent one from doing anything about it once there. I moved in there about a year ago at 145/month... Not many months later they hiked price 20% to 175, and now just hiked another 14% to 200. That's a +38% price increase in a year. Any rationale they give about their expenses going up or competition are just plain BS as anyone knows. I will change this review if management contacts me to change this irresponsible unethical business practice. read more

I had high hopes after moving out oof Public Storage which were crooks. Facility far better, price seemed fair, and staff professional and friendly and helpful. Until a 13% price increase just appeared on my bills. When I called and asked why, the response was "we increase price about twice a year" and "it was in your contract, if you wanted to pay the same rate you had to pay a whole year upfront". So, they are relying on the fact that few people read the fine detail, and people usually don't pay that much in advance because they can't afford to or don't know how long they'll need storage. It wasn't verbally brought to my attention. And since they have my stuff held hostage knowing I'd have to pay alot to move somewhere else, they just increase because they can get away with it... Not for any real reason like their cost of doing business went up, just a tactic to gouge their consumer. So with two increases in a year compounding on the last, a 30% price increase in a year? And worse if stay 2 years or 3 compounding to double the in going rate in not too long. No other reason than to stick it to their customers. Don't give them your business, they don't have their consumers best interest in mind. PS - if management is reading this, I will update my review favorably if you try to resolve this outrageous practice with me. So far, so good. Greg has been friendly and helpful. I appreciate the convenience of the location (less than a mile from my home), the ease of loading and unloading (carts and parking spaces usually available), the security (requiring codes to enter the building and use the elevators), and the cleanliness of the space. Comments by others about unannounced price increases are concerning, but I will wait and see if this happens in the future. read more

I needed a storage unit quickly this morning and Extra Space was more than happy to accommodate me. I had friends waiting with a truckload of stuff and they got me set up extremely quickly to move my things into the unit. They were polite, helpful, and very customer-oriented. I could not have been happier with the service that I got. The units were clean, straightforward, and at a fair price. Access to the building is great, with parking at 2 of the 3 levels to easily move things in and out. I'm happy to have my stuff stored there and I'd definitely recommend them. read more

I have been using the storage units there almost since they first opened. I have moved to my 3rd unit (plus a secondary temporary one) and I have been pleased. Greg gives amazing Customer Service and always knows me by name. Changing units has always been an easy and convenient process. The office is always clean and the staff is always friendly. Price increases are outrageous and unnaccetable without at least leaving a negative review for it.

Came to my units to see mouse/rat feces all over the floor. The wires to my electronics were all chewed up! I told the girl at the front desk about this problem and she said, "all I know is someone comes once a week about that. Put some peppermint oil and it'll stop them from going into your unit." I have massive pieces of furniture in here. How am I supposed to get all the way to the back of my unit on a weekly basis and put peppermint oil! Please do not rent here. I can't believe they want to increase the price of rent when they keep their facilities so disgusting. read more

Though the staff is friendly, they do little to assist the customer. The code they supplied us with never worked, and I have been trying to close out my unit for the past week. In which the keep telling me they need to check the unit and get back to me. This back and forth which should only take about 15 minutes has dragged on and on. They only answer the phone a few times a day also, making the process even more frustrating. read more

Gregory, the manager, is super-kind, professional, and friendly, he helped us move into our storage space during a snow storm, when all other storage spaces in town were closed. The rates are affordable for a climate controlled space, loading, and unloading are super-easy, and the location is accessible easily by both car and public transit. So far a terrific experience with storage at this location. My daughter's move-in went smoothly, and she was happy with the cleanliness and security of the facility, as well as with the help she received at move-in. Our only problem was with the corporate office: I reserved in advance to secure a low rate for summer storage, and was promised an extension to their usual policy of reserving no more than 2 weeks in advance. I was sent a confirmation email -- WITH DATES & RATES clearly spelled out -- which in my book is a guarantee. When I called before the move-in date with a question, I was told that the reservation had been cancelled because of the 2-weeks policy, that no more small units were available, and that there was "nothing we can do". Many phone calls and emails later, Manager Gregory did the right thing as soon as he returned to the office, and quickly informed us that he would honor the promised terms. I would not recommend this facility. The management acts as though they are doing you a favor. I have been locked out of my locker due to "a computer update" one month and I was locked out a second month because they could not find my payment check I sent. Management had terrible attitudes and brag that they have terminated contracts of other customers. Please save yourself the trouble. read more
