The ceviche was probably the best ceviche I've ever had in my life. It was blood orange based, but the citrus was really well balanced. The king oyster mushroom dish was soo delicious. The sauce and the texture of the mushrooms were to die for. I've salivating thinking about them right now! The fish was also so amazing. The bottoms were so crispy, it was almost like it was a layer of potato chip! Really great texture, and the fish meat was cooked to perfection. Really sad that they're closing, but looking forward to whatever the chef/restaurant team does next!

Our food experience at Nura was a bit of a mixed bag, but when I think about the total package with…read moreambiance, environment and service, I feel like it earns four stars. It's a beautifully designed space, and we went in the evening so it was dimly lit and had good tunes, contributing to an intimate and cool vibe. The service throughout was good both by our primary server and the rest of the team that was bringing out dishes. For the food, we did not feel that it was a strong start, but the ending was great! The first dish to come out was their cornbread, which we agreed was very light and had a super tender texture, but there was just nothing special about the taste profile to us. The second dish were their prawns. We couldn't put our finger on the off-putting flavor in there, but we agreed that something just wasn't right and almost tasted spoiled. You also had to work a bit to dissect the prawns and remove the heads and skin. To work for it and then not enjoy the taste wasn't a great combo for us, unfortunately. It started turning around with their sweet potatoes, a type I'd never had before that were "baby" and purple on the outside while white inside. They served the potatoes with a gorgeously whipped Greek yogurt that added the exact right amount of tang to balance the sweet potato and the herby topping. The stars of the night were the coconut basmati rice and the lamb shank. My goodness! The rice dish was so complex from a flavor and texture profile and just hit all the right notes for us, and that lamb! Definitely one of the best lamb dishes I've had - Impossibly tender and seasoned to perfection. One other note I'll make regarding drinks is that they did not have a strong wine list. I ended up ordering a red, but later heard our waiter recommend against getting their wine to another table and suggesting their cocktails and mocktails instead. Just something to keep in mind if you're a wine lover!

My favorite dish here is probably the mussels, great flavor and would probably go well with a glass of wine! The first time I came I tried a cocktail which was very good but because the dishes are very flavorful it might have been too much sugar/salt. The portions here are huge as well so I think for the price its very worth it. It's a cute restaurant as well with open kitchen so great for a date if you're sitting at the bar or if you have a group the tables are pretty big as well. Overall, it's pretty spread out inside which I really appreciate and I have found that it's pretty easy to get a reservation last minute. My only gripe. There were only 3 Shrimp in the whole dish. If you offer half and half, truly make it half and half. Sesame wings- sticky and sweet. Nicely seasoned and prepared. Shrimp scampi- tasty and juicy. Very fresh and deelish!! Butternut squash soup- very good and silky. Brussel sprouts- not pictured or on the menu but, they came out nice and toasty. I also ordered a Tito's and club soda from the bar. I appreciated the un-flat club soda. Our server Ilia G was very knowledgable and charismatic. Our food came out in great time. Price points were decent. I'd definitely stop in again!

My server was very attentive throughout the entire dinner without being overbearing. I wanted to mention her name but unfortunately misplaced my receipt. I love the fact that when I chose the calamari, that they do have the tentacles as well, and not just the rings. For Peaches Prime to meet that one thing was a BIG PLUS to me for a restaurant that looks a little bit more upscale. But the icing on the cake was the fact that I was able to ask for more calamari with the tentacles in less rings so for me that is a win! The drink glasses are quite small like most upscale restaurants are so by the time you put ice in a cup you don't have that much to drink. I ordered shrimp and grits and it has kale in it with mushrooms and the flavor profile was good, but it's not like a southern profile for grits. A southern flavor profile is more rich and hearty. It was good, but the grits were on the runny side. I was provided a fork. I thought it was a small joke at first. You 100% require a spoon and fork with the shrimp and grits. You need a fork for the shrimp and to remove the tails using your butter knife, but to eat the dish you need a spoon. I like the fact that the kitchen did have a little kick of spices. One thing that is always underrated when you go out to eat at a restaurant anywhere in the world, but especially in North America even in Canada, is that food usually comes out to your table warm not hot. But the food came out piping hot and I love that fact. So that's ANOTHER WIN!! They have non-gender restrooms. They were very clean. The hallway that leads to the restrooms seem to be in a different restaurant. I wanted dessert, but I didn't have the room for it after my delicious meal. I definitely will be back but it's not a restaurant that I can come to every week or else. It's not gonna be good for my diet. I would eat too much!

We ordered the lamb tartare, French Onion soup, and burger. The lamb tartare was great (especially combined with the salt flakes and sauce, which brought out the lamb flavor in a light way). The French Onion soup was flavorful but light, and the burger (European style) and fries were delicious. The cocktails were interesting. We'd love to come back and try the mussels and creme brulee!

Would eat a mountain of those oysters if given an opportunity. Staff are lovely, the space is pretty tight but very well-arranged so it doesn't feel crowded. Will absolutely be going back.

TLDR - disrespectful, unfair upfront staff + poor enforcement of reservation policy…read more I had a reservation at Arden that I had to cancel at the last minute due to a family emergency. I called to give them a heads up roughly five minutes past the reservation time, since notifying them seemed like the right thing to do vs simply not showing up. The individual I spoke with on the phone told me I would still be charged the cancellation fee. His rationale was that they had been holding the table for three days... By his own account it was a prime night, and this restaurant gets no shortage of walk-ins. He then told me there was no line outside, which was disrespectfully untrue. I don't appreciate being lied to, particularly while being charged. What makes it worse is that the booking platform states they don't charge for no-shows, only for cancellations. In effect, I WAS CHARGED FOR CALLING. Had I said nothing, I would have paid nothing. That is the policy they've chosen. I'm sure the food is good. It doesn't matter. I would not recommend Arden to anyone visiting the area or anyone living nearby, and I won't even consider returning.
