I liked this place a little more than my husband. He would have given it 3.5 stars but I thought it was pretty good. He had the fish and we thought it was a little dry. Also it was kinda weird you don't get big pieces of fish you get more like fish nuggets. The fries were really good. I had the shrimp which I thought was great and I liked that the tail was off of them. The coleslaw was pretty good. I'm from GA so I make some pretty good coleslaw and theirs was really good. The staff were friendly. It was nice that they had plenty of seating for everyone even outdoor seating. Oh and the Corona sealed the deal! lol. I will definitely come back. read more

Was much better a few years ago. sorry to say it has hit a landslide and down the hill it has went. We were super disappointed we ordered 4 pieces of fish and they do it by weight one piece the only big piece wasn't bad but all the all pieces were super over cooked and dry. We also got 4 pieces of shrimp not fresh and again over cooked. Then the deep fried mushrooms I was excited about, well have to be the worst I have ever had. Everything was a let down... I ordered their cheeseburger with everything on it, fries, and fried pickles for our table to share. My husband ordered their fish & shrimp basket so naturally, I tried some of his and you guys, it was some of the best fried fish and shrimp that we've had! He ordered them extra crispy which I highly recommend. Their tartar sauce was absolutely delicious as well. For a fast casual spot, it was SUPER clean, friendly service, and delicious food. What a gem in Payson! I'm really glad I found this place, they have one of the best fish and chips in Arizona. Along with the yummy fish and chips, their price is reasonable. Oh and the hot sauce is the bomb! I guess they make it there? It tastes like really nice ketchup mixed with cocktail shrimp sauce, anyways I loved it. We had fish and chips, oysters and chips, coleslaw, and fried zucchini, and oh my goodness. They all tasted super fresh and I love their fry batter. Super yummy! I went in on a whim on a Monday. Was helped and served pretty fast. The girl taking the orders was helpful as well. The only thing was the food was just okay. The building was clean and tables but it was kind of slow for being around lunch time. There was only about 4 other people dining in and a few take outs while I was there. I got one of the combos with fish and a crab cake and fries. For the price the portions were worth it but the food was missing something. The cocktail sauce just tasted like ketchup with Tabasco. We spotted this little Fish and Chips place on our way to the gem show. On our way back we decided to stop and have lunch. Their chalkboard menu boards offered a wide variety of combinations. It's a self service station where you order, pay, then pick up when your number is called. We settled on 2-2piece fish , one with chips, one with cold slaw, and a 3 piece fish and chips. Prices were very reasonable and the dinners were absolutely delicious!! They cut the pieces in half to serve so it looks like twice as much fish! I also sampled 2 pieces of shrimp. They were butterflied then battered and deep fried. Amazingly delicate and tasty. The fries and slaw were also amazing. The cold slaw tastes like KFC, but bigger pieces. Yum!! The decor was cute with kids sitting by a fish tank, and plenty of booths and tables for a crowd, also with outdoor tables. I haven't had fish in awhile and this was perfect! This was really tasty, if I lived in Payson this would be a regular place to visit. The food was crispy on the outside and cooked and moist on the inside. Love that. The price is good for what you get, less than $10 for everything seen. I also had eaten one of the fish pieces and nearly all the clam strips, I was getting hangry. I arrived between lunch rushes. Outdoor seating was an option and on a beautiful day I took it. Now...if you are not fully vaccinated and feel anxious about others not masking up this may not be the place for you right now. Oh my gosh! This place is so good! Pictured is the two piece fish and slaw, he, I imagine Mike, was clear that is could come out of more pieces because of how they cut it. The place was clean the wait staff treated all customers like family. The fish i got was not overly caked in a heavy batter but rather golden crispy with fish that was cooked just right to be flaky. Rip off! The cocktail sauce may as well been ketchup. Couldn't tell the difference. I asked does slaw come with it. She said no so I asked how much it was . She showed me the size couldn't be more than 3 bites and they wanted 3.00 rip off. They have no itemized receipts so you have no idea what you're paying for. They gave us no napkins and charged because I wanted couple more cocktail sauce, not cocktail sauce more like just ketchup because they are to cheap to actually put a fair amount of horseradish. Everything was greasy and mostly breading. Small pieces of fish, very small. 23.00 for 4 pieces of 2x2 breading and fries. Rip off!!! My bill was over 48.00 for two people. Rip off!!!! They don't even have paper menus. They also charged me 3 percent for using my cc. I had my own business for over 25 years we never charged someone extra to use a cc. It's the cost of doing business. We came here with the parents who have visited here several times already. For a holiday weekend, it wasnt too busy, which maybe means it is more well known to locals. The restaurant is in the end of a strip mall, that looks fairly vacant. The interior is decorated with a nautical theme, not kitchey but charming. The live aquarium has several varieties including nemo and dory. Between the 4 of us, we ordered the ultimate chicken sandwich, the fish tacos, 2 pc fish, and 2 pc fish with 4 oysters. The tacos had large but delicate pieces of fish. Lightly fried and served with minced lettice, tomato and lemon wedge. The pieces of fish were battered and fried with a delicate balance, not too breaded, not too soggy. The oysters are fried and a nice meaty portion of meat. The chicken sandwich was disappointing. It was juicy and a large portion but not much on it other than lettuce, tomato and onion. Flavorful bread and the chicken had an almost fried crispness to it. The coleslaw was cold, crunchy and tangy. The service is a little slow but friendly. We will be back when we have a craving for good fish and chips! read more

The prices are right. Fish burgers and fish tacos are the sweet spots of the menu. The tartar sauce was a little sweet by my book, and the fries were just okay. It's a busy place, and for a good reason. It serves filling meals at a reasonable price to both locals and travelers. You order at the counter, and they call out your order once ready. Plenty of tables and booths. I could probably be talked into a 4 star ranking on value alone. This is a great spot for a fast, filling meal at a reasonable price. Mike's Fish and Chips I had the 2 Fish and crab cake combo. First off, the fries are different and better. Didn't need much salt, and tons of crunch. She actually recommended the chicken so I hope this worked out. Second impression, the fish is great, better with the spicy sauce, eehh with the malt, and crazy good with tangy tarter.
