    Truffle seared salmon

This place was great. Service was top notch and Food was very delicious! I appreciated how well they treated our young kiddos, our server even brought out a large tub of crayons and paper for them to draw on. Truffle seared salmon was amazing. I wish I got more!

Luv this spot. Seaweed salad, so good. Cucumber sunomo, even better. They have rolls I've never seen in my decade of sushi, and plenty of kid-friendly options. The nigiri is portioned so well, and the truffle seared salmon is one of a kind. Also, they have REAL SAKE. They have all types of cold sake, from Sayuri (AKA Little Lilly) to Wakatake (Demon Slayer.) That's a big deal, especially outside of the valley. They also have more Ramune flavors than I've ever seen anywhere. Another great feature for kiddos :-) Staff is ALWAYS amazing. Service is quick, knowledgeable, and the staff is kind. Seriously K Sushi, I heart you

Probably the best and only sushi place I've been to in Payson that I've enjoyed! Right when you walked in, you'll see the 50 States themed sushi names. Plenty of options for your cravings. My husband and I shared the tonkatsu ramen and the Wisconsin sushi. I enjoyed the sushi very much! It was also recommended by our waitress. The ramen was okay-there was too much going on in one bowl and a bit too salty for me. If you like salty, this is your jam! Staff was great and friendly. Clean tables. Quick service. I'd come back again to try more of the sushi.

Sushi + Payson= you think NO WAY!! This establishment is my new favorite sushi restaurant in AZ! The tea was fresh and was refreshing. Not only are the rolls large, the meat portions are above average! We got the garlic edamame was a good start to our rolls. We got the Tennessee, West Virginia and Rhode Island. Jade was our waitress and made suggestions about the fresh wasabi, changed our entire experience with sushi into next level! Family/small town vibes with upscale sushi experience! Several people seemed to be regulars/familiar to staff. We can't wait for it to cool down so we can try the Pho and Ramen. 101/10!!!

Great food, great service (Thank You, Chris!) + peach sake! Casual ambiance so come as you are. Once you walk in, you're greeted immediately with a smile, even if there aren't any tables available at that moment. The wait, if any, is never long but they always have a steady flow of customers. The customer service here is so amazing, you'd think each employee were part owners of the restaurant! Chris remembers us, our drink orders & makes great recommendations. This is a regular joint for us. My husband loves sushi but me, not so much. Their grill menu is epic & I've never had a bad meal here, EVER! Start with the gyoza. You're welcome.

Nice little spot in Payson. Be prepared to be overwhelmed with choices lol. Man they have some really fancy "50 states" rolls. Named after 50 states - as good as they looked and I would have loved to try we had to pass because they have a killer happy hour. The 50 states is excluded and they seem to range from $13-$19 a roll Happy hour you got 2 basic rolls for $14.95 total. So I picked two and my husband picked two. Y'all she brought our food and I thought she messed up our order because it was a lot of food. Looks more like 8 rolls. We got spicy tuna, spicy snapper, salmon, - all raw and one cooked one! Both of our favorite roll from our choices- the salmon skin roll! It was delicious. Try it. To finish we got a tempura fried cheesecake! It was amazing! You can not leave without trying it! I'm not even a big sweets person..... and I'm in love with this cheesecake

A pleasant surprise at this gem. Stopped by at this place after a snowboard trip to Sunrise ski park. To be absolutely honest I didn't have a high expectation (sorry) only because I thought "it's a restaurant in some small town" (again, sorry) but I was wrong!!! Everything I ate was so delicious! They have so many different types of rolls and I like the fact that they name them as each state. It's easy to remember that way. Service was great as well. They not only have sushi but also have some Korean dishes and a pho. If I'm in Payson again, I will for sure go to this place! My favorite was stuffed avocados!

Maine roll and Idaho roll and a miso soup

This was a really neat find. They had a super huge menu of sushi rolls. A little on the pricey side ($19 for the Maine roll) for some rolls, but I appreciated how delicious and fresh the fish was. The interior was well kept (and had a really nice bathroom honestly) and our waitress was professional, quick and on point.

This restaurant is located in Payson, AZ. We didn't know what to expect from this place, but as soon as we walked in the restaurant, we were surprised to see an Asian sushi chef at the sushi bar! It immediately made us feel comfortable, now we know, we will have authentic Asian food! And to our hearts delight, every single food we ordered was amazing!! It made me feel like going back to Payson just to eat here! I rarely give 5 star, but with this place, I didn't hesitate! The service was great, even my husband mentioned that everything in this restaurant was great. Can't wait to go back and I highly recommend this place if you like Japanese cuisine.

Food was all cooked perfectly so no complaints on that and highly recommend those. The chef was absolutely ON POINT and really the only reason I rated so high. However, the service was horrible. We came to Sedona to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. It was a big deal so we wanted to have a really nice dinner to celebrate. Made reservations at 7:15 about 2 weeks before we arrived. In those we let them know we were celebrating and we asked for a nice view if possible. We arrived for dinner at 7:12 and it was packed. We had to stand by the door waiting for a table for about 30 mins which I know it's busy so we were willing to be patient but that was just the start to the awful hospitality. Once they finally did sit us down, they gave us a table in the back of the restaurant next to the bathroom so quite literally the worst view but again, we were willing to be forgiving. (I've been in the industry for 8 years so I get how it is and I try my best to be aware of the situation.) Waiter comes over to say a quick/not very warm hello and says what do you want. We order the apps and ask sweet wine recommendations to pair with the oysters. He had no idea, and had to look at the menu and basically read to us what we could read for ourselves. Didn't seem like he really knows the menu that well. We wait a bit for the drinks and he brings the bottle of wine over without an ice bucket. He lets my husband taste it (kind of ignored me and didn't let me taste it too which was weird) and we just kept the bottle bc we knew service was being slow and we didn't want to wait for another. We asked him for an ice bucket and he never brings it over, we ended up having to ask the manager to bring it over finally so our white wine doesn't get warm. While we were waiting for apps for some reason the manager randomly took our plates and silverware from the table so when the apps came we had to ask another worker (not our server or the manager) if we could have those back. The server did check in on us but we felt so rushed the whole time. Asked us while we were eating apps twice if we were ready to order dinner and we just wanted to enjoy our night. The third time he asks us what we want (we were still eating apps) I was literally looking at the menu to decide and he was like "are you ready now?". Sir I am literally reading the menu right now. So I rushed my order and thank god the food was amazing or else I would have been livid. Finally the dinner comes out and we start enjoying that glorious/lifesaving food. While my husband had finished eating and they cleared his plate, I was still eating and the server comes over and asks if we want desert. We say no (woulda said yes if the service was better) and then he immediately says "ready for the check then?". Note I am STILL EATING and we have half a bottle of wine left. We just felt so rushed it was awful. And they didn't mention anything about our anniversary, which just shows awful hospitality. We had to ask him for the specials because he "forgot to tell us". Like we are spending a lot of money for great food but also great service and ambiance of a restaurant. It just seemed like operations weren't coherent and everyone seemed stressed. Again I had been a server for 8 years, I know how it goes. But that is no excuse for rushing us. And it's not like we were taking a long time. They just don't know how to take reservations, have hospitality, or handle a rush properly. I just wanted to feel special since we were having a special day. Most places offer free dessert or something or at least a note or at least a server with some personality. He was very abrasive and we didn't feel very welcome or like he appreciated our business at all.

We ended up sitting outside, and I loved that the patio was covered and equipped with heaters, which made it cozy even with the weather acting up a bit. It was lightly sprinkling, and we did get a few drops here and there, but honestly, it didn't take away from the experience. Now let's talk about the food--absolutely delicious. The deviled eggs were generously stuffed and beautifully presented, which made them just as enjoyable to look at as they were to eat. We shared the filet mignon, served with mushroom risotto, and wow... it was completely out of this world. Perfectly cooked, rich, and full of flavor. We paired it with the honey garlic carrots, and they were the perfect balance of sweet and savory--definitely a standout side. I also ordered a smoked blueberry sour cocktail, and it was so good--unique, refreshing, and well-crafted. Service was solid and consistent throughout the meal. Nothing over-the-top, but everything came out smoothly and as expected. Overall, this spot really delivered--from the ambiance to the flavor-packed dishes. I'd absolutely come back again.

They have a table or two outside but they're not setup for outdoor seating, fyi. The restaurant is nicely decorated and dark, which took some getting used to. I got the L/Cali+Shrimp Tempura Combo: California Roll (Half Size), Shrimp Tempura Roll (Half Size), Gyoga(3PCS), Miso Soup. My companion got the L/Rainbow+Dynamite Combo: Rainbow Roll (Half Size), Dynamite Roll (Half Size), 2PCS Nigiri (Chef Choice), Miso Soup. Our soups were brought out pretty quickly and our food not long after. For the price point ($12) and quantity, my lunch special was definitely worth it. It came with 10 California rolls, 5 shrimp tempura rolls, and 3 gyozas. I was pleased to see their gyozas have chicken in them, usually they have pork so I can't eat them. I love their purple rice - so unique. I don't think I'd tried it before and it was good. All of the items I tried were fresh and flavorful. Service was great and I was surprised it wasn't busier during their lunch hour. Maybe later on or dinner gets more of a crowd. I'm glad we tried out this spot and I'd love to come back!

So if I do go back, I would probably request them NOT to cook it so long. I ordered my husband a spicy tuna roll and a spicy salmon roll to go. But for some reason, I just haven't had a great food experience at this location and sadly will likely not go back. We have tried Z's on a few occasions. The last time was about a year ago (before most recent trip). We went with a group and two people in the group got sick afterwards. One was my husband. This followed another occasion of someone getting sick (in fact, someone else in the group said they didn't want to go there for this reason). So, after that incident, we said we weren't going back. Fast forward a year and I thought why not give it another try? The reviews seemed good recently and maybe this was a fluke. So last night, we returned for another try. They were very busy for a Monday night so they obviously don't need more customers. And the staff, though clearly overworked, is friendly and nice as usual. I ordered a larb salad (something I always get at every Thai restaurant). Unfortunately, the chicken in the salad was inedible. I kept trying to eat it because the dressing was on point, but the chicken tasted like something that someone heated up too long in the microwave. And I couldn't pick it out. So disappointing. You can see it looks bad in the images. I didn't say anything because I hate complaining at restaurants. I took it home and tried it again in case I was being sensitive but it was still bad and I threw it out. We also ordered green curry with tofu and pad Thai with pork. Both were enjoyable!! And the green curry had a nice heat kick though I added spice which they eventually brought when I asked. One note: I was not exactly sure how to eat the green curry because it was served in a small bowl place on a plate with the rice in the side. Adding the curry to the plate caused the sauce to run all around but there was not enough room in the bowl to add the rice. No big deal but just weird and messy plating experience. We didn't end up getting any alcoholic drinks. But do be aware that there must not be free refills because I was charged for two lemonades. All in all, I wish this restaurant well. Obviously people love it and keep returning. The owners/staff are very friendly and nice. I just love Thai too much to keep returning to mediocre experiences when there are other options in the area.
