He had a really hard day and asked if we could go, and I finally said okay... holy guacamole, I am SO glad we did. We've eaten here several times since one of my favorite places to eat, although it is very pricey for sushi. I've eaten her many times and my son has eaten her with me most of those times and we've had no problems but the last time we ate here we both got food poisoning me minimally because I had one bite of his chicken cutlet and he ate half of it and took half of it home. It still sits in the refrigerator. He had food poisoning for over 48 hours. For 30 of those, he could not keep anything down. I contacted the restaurant and they said we have never been told we've had this happen before but I keep my receipts and I could tell them what table who my server was and what time I was there what I ordered and how much the total was and frankly for $91 I do not expect to get food poisoning. I heard back from management after a few days and they are refunding the meal. We will not be ordering the chicken cutlet again, but we will eat sushi and other dishes there as I said this is a regular place that we enjoy. read more

The nigiri is portioned so well, and the truffle seared salmon is one of a kind. Also, they have REAL SAKE. They have all types of cold sake, from Sayuri (AKA Little Lilly) to Wakatake (Demon Slayer.) That's a big deal, especially outside of the valley. Probably the best and only sushi place I've been to in Payson that I've enjoyed! Right when you walked in, you'll see the 50 States themed sushi names. Plenty of options for your cravings. My husband and I shared the tonkatsu ramen and the Wisconsin sushi. I enjoyed the sushi very much! It was also recommended by our waitress. Named after 50 states - as good as they looked and I would have loved to try we had to pass because they have a killer happy hour. The 50 states is excluded and they seem to range from $13-$19 a roll Happy hour you got 2 basic rolls for $14.95 total. So I picked two and my husband picked two. Y'all she brought our food and I thought she messed up our order because it was a lot of food. Looks more like 8 rolls. We got spicy tuna, spicy snapper, salmon, - all raw and one cooked one! We had a surprisingly good time and a very tasty meal at K. Who knew that there would be a great sushi restaurant in Payson AZ? We do now! Just a bit of background. Ive been enjoying sushi since the eighties, and living here in southern California, we have many great sushi restaurants nearby. We also spent a month in Japan a year ago, and feel like we got quite a good taste for Japanese cuisine. So back to K, We each ordered several dishes and enjoyed them all. From basic rolls to the fancy "state" rolls, all good. And the tempura veggies were as good as I've had anywhere. The service was attentive and friendly. The waitress spoke to a manager and then tried to take our entire meal away to replace the chicken. We were still eating the salad at that point. Instead of offering a fresh dish, she had us scoop out the bad chicken ourselves, which felt very awkward. The replacement chicken wasn't any better--it was just as dry and hard. I went to this restaurant with a friend. We both had been wanting to go for awhile. I was in the mood for sushi and they have a large selection of sushi choices. I had looked that the menu online before we went, thank God! Some of the sushi prices are pretty steep! I'm talking nearly $30.00 for the top 2 or 3 sushi rolls. I couldn't decide on which sushi rolls I wanted so I asked the waitress. Keep in mind, there are no prices on the menu for the sushi rolls, very deceptive in my opinion. The waitress pointed out, of course, the top two most expensive sushi rolls. I didn't memorize the menu and pricing, but I did remember the two most expensive sushi rolls prices, because I was shocked at the price. I ordered a different sushi rolls and and appetizer with avocado on it. The food was good, the service was fine, but watch out if your not expecting a hundred dollars for 2, for lunch! It has been a while since my wife and I went here and have to say that I am disappointed. We loved their chicken fried rice but they have changed since the last time we came. First they refused to cook my fried rice spicy, even though they have done it before. I politely asked them to and the server went back to the cook and he said he had never cooked it that way and so he wouldn't do it. Second they used to have the coolest dice zucchini in the rice but now have opted to go with a mixed veggie frozen vegetable combo that included lima beans = ugh.
