We came in here for drinks on a Friday night around 8pm. The Parking lot is large, and lots of indoor seating. It was pretty busy and we snagged two seats at the bar. There were a few TVs showing sports games. The ambiance was relaxed, and homey. The food here looked delicious but since we'd already ate, we had to pass. We stopped in for drinks and dinner. The bar was full on a Thursday at 5 PM. We sat at a table and ordered a couple of beers. The crowd was definitely older. After a bit, we ordered some food. We had the pine dip and the Brewers board. Both were very good. The dip had tons of tender meat and the Brewers board came with a pretzel, andouille, cheese sauce and a spicy German mustard. We are residents of Pine and have eaten here a few times. Food and service has been decent and didn't have big expectations. tonight took two friends in tonight and have nothing good to say. nothing they were busy but not packed. plenty of staff but NOT one of the servers were friendly or accommodating. Our server didn't even bring straws for our water until after the first appetizer was served. deviled eggs . pretty good but not spectacular ordered nachos and prime sandwich and two salads eggs came, sandwich came, salads came. no check in from server. nachos came. cold, no cheese and gross asked another server to get us another plate of nachos that and were HOT and had cheese she rolled her eyes, took our plate and said "i'll tell your server". News flash !!!! you represent the establishment YOU should apologize and immediately correct the situation!!! we finished all our other food and we're going to cancel the nachos but they came back out. Really good meal. We started with cocktails and the Old Fashioned was very good and the sip I had of the Mule was very good as well. Our starters were the rings, tasty, and the Wings. The hot sauce was great and the crispy wings were excellent. My wife got the dip. Very solid sandwich. My bite came late, so it may have been even better when it was hot. I got the pastrami burger. Our waitress was awesome. Super nice about my custom chicken sandwich request and fast service. The food was hot crispy and delicious. Exceeding our expectations on size portion. It was delicious. The green chili fries were sooooo delicious! Our pastrami burger and chicken sandwich was also beyond our expectations for flavor and juicy tender meat. There's a classic style burger and multiple specialty burger options - all come with your choice of fries, coleslaw, macaroni salad, or potato salad or an up charge for sweet potato fries, onion rings, or side salad. I had the Tavern classic which comes with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. My husband had the Ole Blue which comes with blue cheese, bacon, and caramelized onions. Pinewood Tavern was a real surprise as we don't expect much from bar food, but our dinner there recently was amazing! Everything was so good! We had the deviled eggs, pulled pork nachos, wings, and a blue cheese burger. It was all perfect! I don't normally like deviled eggs, but there were a few of us & we were sharing everything, so I tried one & discovered I really liked their deviled eggs. I liked the bacon touch they added & the spicy Chipotle mayo sauce was so good. Wings were cooked so nicely...light, nicely seasoned crisp to the outside, tender/juicy inside. Buffalo sauce was really good too. Their pulled pork nachos were amazing with all the layers of flavor. The portion is also huge! We definitely had to take most of it home. The blue cheese burger was perfectly cooked with a really good quality blue cheese. Came with a side salad & the blue cheese dressing was definitely a nice one. All this, plus drinks (soda & wine) for 3 came in under $100, which was also a surprise! Definitely a good place to grab a good, very well cooked dinner in Pine. read more

Since this restaurant changed owners it has gone straight downhill. Our party of 2 each ordered a cheeseburger and fries and I'm not sure the burger was even meat. The meat tasted like it was a frozen patty that was microwaved and served to me. No taste, no grilled taste, not even one pickle. The ranch dressing that was served was so watery it wouldn't stay on the carrots. And the service was really slow. This is the place for food and drinks in Pine. I have had some disappointing experiences at the other hangouts. Pinewood puts out great food. I had a chopped salad with steak added on. It was seasoned and cooked just right. The blue cheese dressing had massive hunks of cheese in it. We also had the pulled pork, which was moist and tasty. I got a Rim Country Bloody to drink. Not a the best experience. To be fair. This was a Saturday the day after St. Patrick day. Lot of people celebrating. This is a bar that also serves food. There was about 6 tables with people. The rest was at the bar. Of the 6 tables we was the only ones ordering food. The ordering process went smoothly. When the food came out mine did not come. By he time mine came most everyone at the table was finished. The waitress apologized and said she would not charge for my burger. When the bill came the charge for the burger had not been removed. I did nit bringing this omission to the waitress, I just paid he bill. The food? My wife got the pulled pork. She said it was good but messy. Meaning you had to eat it with a fork. Pulled pork is something she orders often at restaurants. For her to say it was good would be a recommendation. My hamburger was ok. It was a hamburger. The atmosphere? Very festive. The patrons were having a good time. Conservations at the table was very difficult. Decorations was pretty much what you would expect in a bar. Everyone was as very helpful and pleasant. read more

I don't often write reviews--good or bad--but I feel compelled after the absolute worst experience at this restaurant. The owner, who is an older woman, was shockingly rude and unwelcoming. She told us there was a wait and that it wasn't first-come, first-served, so we will wait a long time--which we did and understandably so on a holiday weekend. After finally being seated, she continued to roll her eyes and make snide comments for no reason. We ultimately left before eating because the experience was so unpleasant. As many others have pointed out, she is a problem and consistently treats paying customers terribly. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone and with the lack of customer service I'm sure this place will close down soon enough. read more

On our way home to Prescott from Winslow today, we decided to take highway 87 and check out the little town of Pine. We are so glad that we did and that we discovered the Pinewood Tavern! First of all, the bartender, Savannah, was awesome! Then we shared the Cowboy burger, which was the best burger that I have had in a long time! Perfectly seasoned, and perfectly cooked. Another good restaurant in the Pine/Strawberry area. You have to look for the sign on the highway because it is tucked away from the road. I'm usually not a chicken sandwich guy as my first choice, but she said it was delicious so I tried it. The Crispy Chicken Sammie was really good and I'm glad I ordered it. The fries were good, everything was good. Enjoyed the patio seating. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience.
