It's not often that I find a great food item. But I think the potato chips at old County Inn are my favorite potato chips ever. Hot out of the fryer and every potato chip was crisp and flavorful. We both thought they were fabulous. The chips come with two sauces, a blue cheese sauce and a hot sauce. We really didn't dip the chips in the sauces because the chips tasted so great by themselves. We also ordered their meat pizza pie. It too was delicious. We loved the small cupped pepperoni and the great crust. Our server was friendly and informative, and we had a great experience here. It's worth noting that we got there around 11:15 and by noon there was a line out the door on a Wednesday noon. So this isn't a secret place to go. This place was definitely popular the night we went as it was one of the only restaurants open that day! Food and drinks were fabulous however I will say they were out of quite a few beers? Kind of annoying when they have a giant "taproom" sign on the side of the building but the only beer they have available is coors light. Besides that though everything we ate was SO good. Definitely a more upscale menu compared to other places in town. Nice flavors, not too heavy. We sat at the bar and had Mo as our server - she was lovely! Definitely a bit busy - you could tell she was spread a little thin, so ordering took a little longer than it usually would sitting at a restaurant bar, but she was super friendly so no harm no foul! The manager is apparently very protective over his TV - asked to put the NBA finals on, and was given the remote by the bartender, after we couldn't find the channel the bartender suggested we ask the manager who knows how to work the TV, who promptly switched it off and snatched the remote from us Maybe he was a knicks fan lol. Come on man! This was excellent pizza! We were up in Pine for a quick vacation and every time we drove by the place looked packed. Don't let it discourage you from stopping in. There was plenty of seating, both inside and out. Our server was super personable and made for a great experience before we ever got to the food part of the night. The drinks were excellent. We made the end of Happy Hour so we grabbed a beer and an Old Fashioned. The Old Fashioned was their Maple Espresso and was out of the world. We got the wings for an app and they flavor was great, the right amount of heat, maybe a little subtle. The Pizza was excellent. We got the simple one and added Pepperoni on half of it. My wife loved the cheese half and my grandson loved the pepperoni. We got the White pie forest and it was really good, I love a White Pie and was not disappointed. Stopped by on way home from rim camping trip. Just me and my pup, Buddy. Patio was fairly open so we were directed to choose an open spot which we did. Service was fairly quick after that, and we were given a water dish for my pup immediately even though I had one. The wind was gusty at times and blew the paper plate and menu away for a second - twice! Went to order and asked if they had fries - Buddy loves fries. Waitress said no, but they do have a dog dish - chicken. I said sure! And then I ordered their meat pizza. They delivered the dish of chicken for Buddy and he LOVED it - inhaled it! And he is a very picky eater! Found out when check delivered that it cost $4.00 but I was totally fine with that! Then the pizza arrived - wow - very good! I meant to save some to take home but it was so very very yummy! Solid service, great food, and good value overall. Read the other reviews, and thought we would give it a try. My wife said, and I quote "this is the best pizza I have had in the three years I have lived in Arizona". We came to the Old County Inn for lunch on a Thursday just after they opened for the day while visiting friends in the Payson area. We dined in the covered patio area, there were 6 of us in our party so it provided a perfect atmosphere for conversation. We started with beverages & buffalo chips (they were way too salty so a couple of us ended up brushing them off to help remove the salt) they were just ok but we were reassured that they were way better than our experience. We also enjoyed the Green Chili Beer Cheese with breadsticks, this was tasty. Hubby has severe dairy allergies so he ordered a plain pepperoni without cheese, he said it was really good & truly enjoyed it. The rest of us shared a meat pizza & the spinach, artichoke & chicken pizza. Both were hot & delicious, with the crust being perfect for wood fired pizza. I enjoyed a lavender lemon drop that my friend recommended & it was delicious! The perfect summertime drink! Sorry no photos I didn't think about it until we were almost done eating but trust me it looked & tasted delicious. We were told this was the best pizza in AZ and it's good but not the best! We came for hike in pine and had to stop by. They were slammed at 1:30pm on a Wednesday. The lefty with the bbq was really good but the pepperoni, was thin and needed a little more sauce. It is wood fire. The red head lady at the bar is a boss and was taking care of everyone inside. All the servers seem to serve the whole restaurant. A couple servers were pretty rude but I understand the rush. This place has great energy! I came at dusk and was fortunate enough to have a view of the sunset on one side and wandering elk on the other. Started with the stuffed portobellos which were amazing if you're into that kind of thing. Paired it with the white pizza which was baked to perfection. We ended it with the lemon shortbread cookie which came with raspberry sorbet. Still unsure how well the fruity sorbet paired with the warm cookie, but independently of each other they were both yuuuumy. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to my friends. Stopped in after seeing this spot all over Instagram and it was well worth the hype! We came not too long after it opened and the tables were already full with a line to be seated! I think that's a testament to the quality of the food. All of the pizzas were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The Caesar salad was notable too-- with just the right amount of tangy flavor. Tried for over an hour to order takeout and continually got a voice saying they are not answering with immediate disconnect - finally drove down to their express location only to find they took the phone off the hook and left it off, so no one could order! First time coming to Pine and had to try this place I've seen all over my Instagram. We have kids at home so we planned on ordering pick up but the online ordering was down and the phone was immediately going to voicemail so we decided to just drive the 6 minutes to the location. Here's the thing, they really don't answer the phone. And they are busy. So just set your expectations and deal with it if you want really, really good pizza. Even their gluten free crust pizza was good. They do that thing where the pepperonis curl up and are crunchy. Yummy!! This is always a stop for us whenever we're in Pine or Strawberry. The food is always good. The service is excellent and I always have a good time. It is worth the wait if there's a line. There's also a small bar , The Tap Room, in the back by the outdoor area where you can get some drinks while hanging out. The pizza is well-known as some of the best in Arizona. I've liked all of them, but I particularly remember liking the white pizza and most recently got the Poncho, which had amazing flavor with a little spice. My favorite starters are the wings and the green chile beer cheese. So good! I was really surprised how good the wings were because I mostly only hear about their pizza.
