We came here for dinner, and despite the chilly evening, stayed warm outside due to the fireplace and heaters in their wrapped-in patio. Dang, got here at 5:30, seated at 6:30. Here it is 7:34 and no pizza. No refills, just dang. Order apps, they came out ok. I realize, they can get busy, but I swear, get it together. First time here, and probably our last. It's 7:37, and we still haven't gotten the pizza. Waitress did just come by to tell us it would be ANOTHER 20 minutes. Ouch. This place has great energy! I came at dusk and was fortunate enough to have a view of the sunset on one side and wandering elk on the other. Started with the stuffed portobellos which were amazing if you're into that kind of thing. Paired it with the white pizza which was baked to perfection. We ended it with the lemon shortbread cookie which came with raspberry sorbet. Still unsure how well the fruity sorbet paired with the warm cookie, but independently of each other they were both yuuuumy. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to my friends. I've been a regular here for a long time, and this used to be a locked-in 5-star spot for me. The food is still amazing and the staff is as friendly as ever, but something has definitely changed in the kitchen. ​I'm happy to wait 90 minutes for a table if that's what I'm told--I don't hold the restaurant responsible for the crowd. However, once seated, the service has hit a wall. In 4 of my last 6 visits, we've waited over an hour just for the pizza to arrive. This never used to be an issue, even on busy weekends. It's saddening because I love this place, but I'll likely only return on a quiet weekday when the lot is empty. I really hope they can iron out the new bottleneck in their process. read more

This is my favorite reason to take a trip to Pine. We live in PHX but when we want the best pizza in AZ- we road trip to Pine for theirs. Not only do they have the best pizza- they have all kinds of beer on tap, a great ambiance and such friendly service. Truly can't get enough of this place. This is always a stop for us whenever we're in Pine or Strawberry. The food is always good. The service is excellent and I always have a good time. It is worth the wait if there's a line. There's also a small bar , The Tap Room, in the back by the outdoor area where you can get some drinks while hanging out. The pizza is well-known as some of the best in Arizona. I've liked all of them, but I particularly remember liking the white pizza and most recently got the Poncho, which had amazing flavor with a little spice. My favorite starters are the wings and the green chile beer cheese. So good! I was really surprised how good the wings were because I mostly only hear about their pizza. First off, I rarely give 5 stars...there is always room for improvement. That being said....I was in Pine for my quarterly visit, and OCI was strongly recommended. I waited to be sat - chose inside at the bar top - but they have ample outdoor covered seating, as well as a large outside patio that connects the restaurant and the tap house. This is mainly wood fired pizza, although they also serve lovely salads and a handful of appetizers. I ordered the pizza special which was house made sausage, roasted red peppers, roasted onions, their amazing red sauce (dinapoli). I opted to not have the green bell peppers...not my thing. I also ordered the beet salad which was actually better the next day! The pizza was crispy and well loaded with toppings. I always judge a good pizza by how well it reheats day 2....this was beyond perfect. Heated in cast iron just really crisped up the bottom which was perfect! We just went for our second time since we were in Payson and it was just as amazing as it was 18 months ago. I got the smoked poblano marg(2), whiskey sour, and my hubs got the bitter orange and an old fashion. All were so tasty and made great. Lindsey was an amazing bartender and handled the opening rush like a pro!! For food we got the chicken tenders, which are the best ones in the world lol and pizza.
