We were there two days ago it had been several years since we were there last. I don't recall how well we liked the food then but they deserve a great review now. I had the pastrami sandwich and I love a good pastrami sandwich. It was large and in charge delicious I only ate half and ate the rest leftover and it was still delicious even cold. The fry's were excellent I loved the batter which gave it a little something extra. I started off with the wings served dry with sauce on the side. I was skeptical but I do love wings so wanted to give it a shot. They were delicious served dry with a smoky blend of chili powder seasoning and the sauce was amazing even dipping my fry's in it. I don't know what made it so different but it wasn't same old wing sauce. You could taste it had the typical hot sauce ingredient but it was even better, I'd love to have that recipe. My wife really liked the pulled pork sandwich which was massive. I would definitely recommend this local place, no fru fru uptight artisan junk just good food and reasonable prices. read more

We went in on Saturday evening with a group of 6 of us. We were seated promptly, and our server Tyler was wonderful. He made good recommendations and patiently answered our questions. Each of us loved our food! I got the fish and chips which were incredible. I ended up sharing with friends because they were so delicious! My husband got the grilled cheese with green chilis and it was one of the best grilled cheeses we've ever had. My son got the cheeseburger kids meal and it was fresh and delicious, my friend got a BLT that was made with freshly fried crispy bacon, crunchy iceberg lettuce and a beautiful tomato, on toasted white bread, and the other 2 friends got the cheeseburger with the onion rings on them and they were devoured. I rarely leave reviews but thought this one certainly warranted it. If you're visiting Pine, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won't be disappointed! read more

Staff is very friendly and eager to serve. Lot's of great drink selections and food was pretty solid. Not going 5 because the fish & chips were over battered for my liking. However, the coleslaw was excellent and their chicken fingers basket was delicious. Plenty of seating & easy to find in the middle of town. Cool neighborhood restaurant in beautiful Pine that offers American classics like burgers, salads, sandwiches, and wings. The pulled pork nachos are a must! They also have a pretty good sized cocktail and beer menu. We came here because they were one of the few late night places open to grab a bite. The bar area is really spacious with TV's that showcase local sports. The service staff was pretty laid back and the food came out quick. Stopped in twice while we were in town. The fries are SO good and that was the best burger I've ever eaten. Such a great balance of slight heat, salt, cheese, and sauce. The Pine Dip was good, but the horseradish could use more heat. Asked for a side of chipotle aioli with it, and it was a game changer. 10/10 would recommend! Also, service as phenomenal. read more

I'm not sure if the food supply vendor has changed or there are new cooks, but we will not be returning. We ordered mozzarella sticks and they were the typical frozen generic kind, they were fine. What I thought was odd was the fact that the marinara sauce they were served with was served ice cold. For dinner we ordered burgers and fries because they were to die for before -- this time, they were tasteless and overcooked. The fries are completely different from what they used to be. If you look at these Yelp pictures from 8-9 months ago don't expect to see that when you dine here. How does bacon taste like absolutely nothing?? What a waste of $55. read more

I was visiting from San Diego. My sister lives in Phoenix but she wanted to take a trip to Pine/strawberry. We ordered the bacon deviled eggs for an appetizer. I ordered the cowboy burger and my sister had a sandwich. Sarah was our server she was on point with everything. She provided amazing service even though she was busy. The service team Pinewood Tavern had really works like a team to get the job done. Now about my burger I have paid $40 for a burger in San Diego and they were no where near as good as these. We popped in here for dinner on a Friday night around 7:30p and had a wonderful experience! They were pretty busy but we only had to wait about 10 minutes and I was SO impressed with how the manager handled the entire flow of the restaurant. He communicated with us the entire time and had his eyes on every part of the operation. My husband and I got a cozy booth and ordered way too much food; all absolutely delicious! We started with their brewer's board which we probably didn't NEED, but you guys, it was so good!! It had homemade pretzels, beer cheese, andouille sausage with honey mustard, pickled onions, olives, and pickle spears. It would be perfect for a table of 4. A bit much for 2 if you're going to order one of their giant juicy burgers, too. I absolutely loved my tavern classic cheeseburger! It was HUGE, juicy, and had all the fixins. I added caramelized onions to it as well. Yum! My husband ordered the cowboy burger and it was MASSIVE! He loved it, but was definitely stuffed beyond belief afterwards. Their homemade "ranch" is absolutely delicious and different from any ranch that I've had elsewhere. All in all, we had a lovely experience and would definitely come back on a future visit to Pine/Strawberry. The Pinewood Tavern is excellent. The food and service was great. Avery was our server and she was great with us. My wife spilled her beer and without even asking, they brought us a new one. We highly recommend it. On Yelp it shows that it is permanently closed in one area, then says it's temporarily closed in another. It's not true since they are always open. read more

Ok so if you know Pine/Strawberry, AZ you know there is few options. Our cabin is in Payson so we decided to venture out and of course you gotta eat. It's cold outside 32, we found this little gem and stopped. So cozy inside. Had about 10-15 min wait, hand sanitizer on the tables and drinks being served! We got seated by a great girl. Waitress came got our drink order, apps, and entrees.. we were hungry and ready! Drinks came and the amazing dirty fries first!! Sooooo dang good. Then the entrees came out, hot and very good! My son and I are in town for the week and got several recommendations to checkout pinewood tavern. When I saw their menu and I was super hyped to grab a late lunch of chili and some elote. I also say all of this with 10 years myself in the restaurant business as a waiter and bartender. We walked in, we were asked if we needed a table I said yes just me and him. The waitress said k hold on. Then asked the guy behind me what he needed- he was looking for takeout. She shot him down immediately because they were out of to go boxes but with no remorse or tact. She then started walking to her tables, behind the bar, even right back past my son and I without saying a word. For a second I was confused like maybe she thought I said something else. After about 5 min she came back up front and said if you can wait a bit longer I'll wipe a table down for you..other tables were open and clean. We got sat and this pattern of being ignored continued. Five minutes or so went by again with the waitress walking past the table a few times and not acknowledging us so we just got up and left. It did look sort of busy but her body language and the rest of the staff for that matter did not really indicate that they were in any kind of a rush. Just a bad experience overall. Stopped by here after several hours of hiking. The place is friendly and feels like small town. I sat at the bar and The service was great. I had a beer within minutes.
