The food is really good. I only got a salad but my friends got the Honey/Garlic wings and they were tasty. Always order a basket of chips! They make fresh potato chips! I enjoyed those a lot! Ordered takeout and unfortunately after returning to our hotel we realized a large portion of our order was incorrect. We ordered a double smash burger with bacon (an extra $2 charge) along with tomatoes, lettuce, and onion. The burger arrived with no bacon and none of the listed veggies. We also ordered a triple smash burger with cheddar cheese and tomatoes, lettuce, and onion -- again, none of the veggies were included. We also ordered a mashed potato bowl with chicken, corn, and brown gravy, but there was no brown gravy in it at all. Even though a lot of our order was missing, I will say the food itself still tasted good. The biggest issue, however, was the customer service. The young girl working there, who looked to be around 16 years old, was extremely rude and snotty. When I asked for plastic utensils, she replied, "We do not have any." I asked how we were supposed to eat mashed potatoes and gravy without utensils, and she shrugged and said, "Ma'am, we are a bar, we do not have it." I responded that I've ordered takeout from many bars before and they always provide plastic utensils. She then sarcastically replied, "Good for you, have a nice day." I tried speaking with who I believed was the manager (he nodded when I asked if he was), and while I was explaining the issue, the young employee continued interrupting and talking over me. Another waitress overheard the conversation and quickly returned with plastic utensils, proving they did in fact have them available. The employee then changed her story, saying she "didn't know" if they had utensils and claimed she was super sweet to me(not rude). There is no reason an employee should be speaking to customers this way. She clearly needs additional customer service training before handling customer interactions on her own. read more

Their double smash burger is a lot of low grade hamburger that has zero flavor. Not worth bothering with. Took one bite and waited to eat in PHOENIX. Even the locals don't patronize payson restaurants. read more

I went to Johnny's Midtown Yard on May 24 to see the remodeled patio, to listen to the music and get a nice Walleye sandwich. When out on the patio I was informed if I wanted a beer I had to go into the bar and get it. Ok, I can do that. At the bar I was informed that I couldn't run a tab, even if I left my card as the bar tender couldn't handle tabs. If I used a card I had to close out on each order. Since I had to close out on each order I asked to also order a Walleye sandwich and pay for that and the beer at the same time. The waitress informed me that she would come out to the patio and take my food order. The waitress brought food to two couples at the table I was setting at. Couple one the ladies order was wrong but the waitress never came back to see if it was correct. Couple two the waitress just dropped the food off, she wasn't even sure it was the correct couple. Every time she was in the area I tried to get her attention to no avail. I finally went home to eat. My experience today at Johnny's was almost as bad as going to the Oxbow. read more

This is a fun bar. They redid the patio and it looks really nice. It is just too cold at. Ichthyosaurs to go out there unless your a smoker. There was a great band. 4 Out of the 5 sang and had great voices. They played a little country, a waltz and a Little Rock and Roll. It was to bad there were t a lot of people. We have now been to Midtown Yard twice, the first time was for lunch several weeks ago & the more recent was for their Tuesday smash burger special. The lunch time (we were there around 2pm) one was great, the food was hot & delicious with the service being excellent keeping in mind it was actually after lunch but still. We came back on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving for their smash burger BOGO special unaware that it was Trivia Night so the place was packed. We found a spot that seated 4 & ordered drinks. Yes, it was crowded, loud & busy however most of the tables were full prior to our arrival with half the food already on different tables. We ordered burgers 3 regular smash burgers & 1 without cheese or veggies just prior to trivia starting (6:30) 1 of the regular burgers came out during the trivia game & the other 3 apparently forgotten about because we had to ask twice about them. We finally got them after the trivia game ended. We weren't offered drink refills 2 of us ordered beers, 1 had water 1 had ice tea. I actually walked up to the bar to inquire about our food & was told it was coming right out so I did ask for another beer, it was brought to the table without anyone else being offered a beer/drink. Were we upset over this absolutely! We did have fun with the Trivia Game actually doing better then we thought we would especially without knowing it was happening but if this is a normal event maybe better staffing is in order because we couldn't be the only neglected table there. read more

Was there Thurs and had an excellent meal and service. Went there tonight 1 person working 9 people including us and all had been served or acknowledged but us. The couple before us got their own menus. A table of 6-7 came in and she walked right past us and went to them. We walked out. Fantastic bartender greeted us with a smile and immediately made us feel like we were regulars. Continued to enjoy our lively conversation with some actual regulars and ended up having a great meal! Wow wow wow! What an amazing little spot! My roommate and I decided to make a day trip up here with the dogs and I can't rave enough about this place. Server was so extremely welcoming and sweet. Huge dog friendly patio with live music starting in the summer time. We got the chili dog special with sweet potato fries and the honey hot chicken wings. Wings were phenomenal! My first experience here while visiting my parents was so fun. Everyone knew each other, everyone around us was so kind to me and my parents. The owner himself sat and chatted with us. I ordered a lettuce wrapped cheeseburger so I could eat more of the sweet potato fries (my favorite cheat meal ever) and when I say that these fries were the best I've ever had. The burger itself was fantastic, whatever sauce they use is a perfect fit. I apologize to the bartender for stuffing my face in such an inhumane manner And girl your vodka cran drinks were also the best! The bar itself was perfectly lit, roomy, comfortable for families too. I wasn't expecting much food wise, but I have to say I was completely wrong. The food here is great quality, cooked well. The homemade blue cheese dressing/dip is freaking stellar. We found Midtown Yard on yelp looking for a dog friendly patio and lunch when the 87 was closed and sitting in traffic waiting for it to re-open was not an option. We had great seats on the patio and got to see a really good band play new and old hits. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had nachos, wings and the chicken sandwich. They also had a great beer selection and full bar. It turned out to be a great afternoon! read more

My first time there will NOT be my last. I cant wait to go again. I had a fantastic cheeseburger. I am a true burger lover so when I say fantastic I know what I am talking about. Great meat, dressed up like a burger should be. The fries and dipping sauce were beyond belief. Server was great and so friendly. The coleslaw was great too. Nice atmosphere and a big outdoor patio. It looks like the best kind of rustic. We went in for drinks, and we all tried the mixed drinks. They were all really good! Semper Fi, Can I get something sweet, and the I'll be your huckleberry. The names are crazy good, and so are the flavors! The bartender was super nice on a Sunday evening for birthday drinks, and she did an outstanding job of mixology. We visited for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was quiet but they were also preparing for a wedding. Despite the restaurant being understaffed our bartender was awesome! She warned us that food might be a little bit longer but she was crushing the bar service between us and the wedding guests coming to order drinks, always with a smile.
