Stopped in while staying in the area and sure glad we did! Great brewery with excellent food. Being our first time, I went with a flight of beer to try as many as I could. You get 6 for $10, which is a steal. My favorites were the Mexican Lager and Strawberry Blonde. They were delicious! We were impressed with how good the food was! We did the wings, fried green beans, truffle fries, and the Southwestern Smoked Chicken sandwich. Would recommend them all! Everything was fresh and very well made. So good! Only knock was the service. It seems that they're understaffed so there was 1 server for the whole dining area. Not her fault, she was a gem, but long waits.. The place itself is great, and Sydni was fantastic. She was friendly, professional, and a big part of why we enjoyed our visit. Unfortunately, our experience with the manager, Angela, was the complete opposite. One member of our group is from Utah, where vertical IDs are still issued, and Angela refused to serve her alcohol. If that's the policy, that's completely fine. The problem was her attitude and the way she handled the situation. Before there was even an opportunity for a conversation, Angela approached us with an aggressive and confrontational demeanor. Rather than calmly explaining the policy, she immediately treated our group as if we had done something wrong. There was no attempt to be helpful, professional, or respectful. Policies can be enforced without being rude. Angela turned what should have been a simple discussion into an unnecessarily negative interaction and left a lasting bad impression on an otherwise enjoyable visit. Stopped for lunch on the way home from payson. It was Friday around 1:30. The server forgot to put in our beer order, then our appetizer order . Appetizer was the best thing we had- the pretzel is super soft and hot. We had it with the beer cheese (also ordered the mustard but wasn't brought that). Appetizer came only a couple minutes before our meal came. I had the shandy- it was ok, my bf the Mexican lager which he said was good. We both had the whiskey burger- a little dry, small patty and not much sauce. I had the garlic potatoes- horrible no flavor. My bf- fries and a side of coleslaw- not tasty. Really cool place to visit in Pine! Lots of dining space and the servers are very friendly. We had lunch there and food was great, and the fried pickle spears for an appetizer are really unique and tasty. They have a bunch of local beer options that are great. I don't know why this brewery does not have a better rating, that puzzles me?! We went to the Tonto natural bridge and specifically drove to this brewery just for the food! The outside sitting area is awesome. It is dog friendly. There's game for kids and it's all around. Awesome. I had the fried chicken burger and it was so juicy messy delicious !!! I decided to try and be healthy since it was fried and got the celery and carrots instead of french fries! Since my side was celery and carrots, I had to order more ranch and it was disappointing that I had to pay for it considering they're so small & half full, of course you are going to need more!. ‍ thumbs down only on that part. So I was with two more people, and we all loved what we had, raved about it and left 1000% satisfied! Ordered for takeout. Ordered a pound of "smoked" brisket. Not even a hint of smoke flavor. It tasted reheated. The macaroni salad was good. Shells with an Italian style dressing. The sliders were very good, my son tore those up! The help was very friendly and welcoming. The patio is huge, there was live music, and the ambiance was nice. We are not typical brewery people. We're not big drinkers and bar food types but we found ourselves in The Pines for a little getaway. Most of the food up there was bar food so we chose "That Brewery" based on the reviews. I don't know that I've had better bar food anywhere. It was exceptional, we were able to bring our dogs, hang out on the patio and enjoy some very delicious burgers and fries and even their coleslaw was spectacular. A person must start with the Ambiance. It is big for the area. Bring your animal, come as you are, no valet parking. We were just at That Brewery for the yearly German Beer and food. Wow did the Chef knock it out of the park with the food. So many people and the food came out just prepared and hot with a great taste. Music by DJ LaRue who tries to always make it to DJ their events because he too loves these people. The place as set up to play games, lots for the kids to run range free. If you are arriving from the south it will surprise you as it is the first building when you hit town. Highly recommended. read more

I've stopped in here a few times before when visiting Pine and it's always been a good time. The patio was enclosed (during the cold months) to keep out the cold and is dog friendly. Service was great. I love that they were offering half off on wine bottles. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious and my French onion soup had a great depth of flavor. If you are gluten free- they have really good gluten free bread for their sandwiches or burgers. My friend and I split a burger and the chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad was delicious. The burger was fine- just like any ole burger. Our server was very friendly and accomodating. I will say things move a bit slowly here, so make sure you aren't in a rush. There is a large outdoor patio where you can sit or plenty of indoor seating as well. Lots of parking. read more

The Strawberry Blonde and Blackwood Blondes were both refreshing on a hot day. Bummed that they were out of many of their beers. I think the rest of any great pub/brewery is their burgers. I was pleasantly surprised by the food here. It was really good. I'm familiar with the beer because you can find it throughout the valley but I didn't expect the food to be as good as it was. The service was also really quick, attentive and pleasant. The spinach artichoke dip came out hot and delicious. I loved the bread that was with it too. I think I was a daily special rather than a regular menu item. The smoked brisket sandwich was also amazing surprisingly chewy and a nice crunch/hint of sourness from the pickles. We were really excited to try this place when we went up to Strawberry for our anniversary and it ended up not living up to the hype- it was okay. The best thing that we had was our appetizer which was the pretzel and cheese. The cobbler smells delicious but I'd pass on it as it didn't taste too great. The patio is nice and big- and the view was pretty with deer eating around us. Service was a bit slow and there were not that many people there when we were there. There are other places in the area that are a lot better for what you are spending. When you tip be careful of the reader as the 20% is not actually 20% as it shows but about $5ish dollars more. read more

This took the difficult-to-fill final slot for our Pine-Strawberry trip dinner restaurant list. I am terribly sorry to rate it this low, several issues but primarily the wait time for our food (and everyone else's in the dining room) was unreasonably long especially for the quality, on a Saturday night. Thankfully, we ordered a small order of mild chicken wings to share soon after we were seated, which came maybe 15 minutes later, so we had something in our stomachs to hold us over. They were a solid 4/5 if not better. Spice was closer to medium which we would've chosen if an option, so perfect. We placed our entree orders while eating the wings. Little did we know it would be an hour until that next course hit the table. So yeah, the anticipation was building for what turned out to be some very average-to-good food. I had the portobello sandwich (vegetarian) - the mushroom was cooked really nicely and was flavorful with some tasty Swiss cheese melted on top and standard other toppings. "Brioche bun" seemed to be a pretty typical packaged hamburger bun, with a little too much surface area relative to the mushroom. Other dishes ordered by our table were burgers - decent but not memorable. Sides were mediocre, uninventive slaw and fries served somewhere between room temp and warm. Not sure if the long wait time was specific to the dining room or if the patio also had issues. There was live music out there (honestly not great) that was super loud. We converse at the dinner table so it was not an option for us to sit out there. The wall barely muffled it enough and with other music playing inside it was kind of overwhelming. Also there was only a single functioning toilet off the dining room so that was constantly in use and not really pleasant to listen to. We also only got one update on our dinner's status throughout all this, which was when our food was "on the grill" and they offered us a free dessert which we just didn't want - limited options and, might've had us there another hour! We'll be checking out some other restaurants on our future visits to Pine. read more

I was seriously beyond impressed with the smoked pulled chicken sandwich. It was huge but I ate the entire thing it was so good. Not the best decision an hour before running 5 miles, but that sandwich was worth it. The fried pickle spears are also amazing. Service was great. Only disappointment was no cans of beer to go. Everytime we are in pine we come here. Such a fun spot and our service is always fantastic. Our server Kelly stayed on top of our waters and remembered all the condiments we ordered (and there were many). The only reason I say 4 stars is because the food was a bit inconsistent with serving portions on the smoked chicken sandwhich and couple other items the two times we went there this weekend, although I wouldn't let this stop you from going. We've heard good things about this location, however it did not live up to the hype. When we first walked in, we noticed that there was a porta potty right outside the door. The smell was horrible, it can't be up to health code for it to be so close to the patio and entrance. The food was nothing to write home about, it was just ok. We ordered chicken tenders and a chicken sandwich, the chicken is the same chicken which seems like frozen chicken. We also ordered a bean patty and it was charred.
