Cute small town coffee shop! Was easy to find and no problem parking. I was excited to see on the menu that they had a latte with local honey and lavender so I ordered that iced with oat milk, and got my husband an iced whole milk caramel latte. They were ready fast and the baristas were super nice. My latte at first tasted the tiniest bit burnt but the lavender and honey in it tasted really amazing. My husband enjoyed his latte as well. Very cute in here and plenty of seating. Great local place to stop if you're in Payson. read more

I'm only giving this place 2 stars for the ambience of the cafe- it is nice and friendly. It honestly gives millennial cafe in the best way possible. I'm sad writing this review because I had high expectations for how great the reviews on yelp and tik tok were. We got a medium peach cobbler chai and a peanut butter cookie for around $10- pretty standard for being one of the only local cafes in Payson. However, the cafe only uses torani and monin- pretty sad to use Walmart syrups if you're going to charge me so much for a drink. As well, the chai wasn't good at all- wasn't mixed at all at first and drank straight syrup. Once mixed it was entirely too strong- as if it was just peach and cinnamon concentrate with the essence of chai which isn't very good in my opinion. Expected more. Service was friendly however, so props for that. read more

Relaxed ambiance when I was there as there weren't too many people. I had the current specialty Georgia latte, iced. I have a sweet tooth but it wasn't overly sweet imo, it was just right. Coffee cake was great as well - not overly sweet, and I asked if they could warm it up briefly - no hesitation there. Kind of a blink and you'll miss it until you whiz past the giant white coffee cup in the entrance. When you walk into Common Grounds you're immediately hit with that amazing coffee smell. The interior is relaxed and calming, super cute with tables and chairs in the open area. My husband got an iced mocha and I got their Local Bee Latte: espresso, milk of, boyd's farm honey+pine creek lavender farm lavender sugar. Sweet but not too sweet. Very delicious coffee, stopped by here after my friend and I went camping. We played cards and drank our perfectly balanced coffee. I normally get too much milk in my lattes but they had different sizes to make sure an even amount of milk and coffee ratio. I would definitely stop by here again in the future! read more

Stopped in and the espresso machine was broken and had been for several days. Difficult make espresso drinks with no machine. Absolutely loved our experience at Common grounds! After completing a hike in Payson, our goal was to find a local shop to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The coffee here was great, average priced, and atmosphere top tier. The shop is small inside, but there are still a few spots to sit. Near the washroom, there are several board games to play, including Connect 4, Jenga, and Catan. The patio is large and amongst several tall trees for shade... I had an amazing pour over with an apple scone warmed it was a perfect pair. The scone was soft made from sourdough it was light and fresh baked. We stopped on our way through Payson and the coffee and food were amazing! The Local Bee Latte is quite possibly the best honey lavender latte I've ever had. I am a frequent customer and have noticed quite a few things that arent okay here their is almost always a "manager" there that is not working but is behind the bar which is for one a food safety violation and two a complete distraction and obstacle from people actually working i believe his name is tom he will also engage in inappropriate behaviors and conversation with customers and employees I honestly can't believe he has not been fired as this has happened almost every time I come into this establishment it Is completely unprofessional i will not be eating or drinking from here again and I'd suggest anyone reading this to take a look around before spending your hard earned money at this establishment read more

Delicious hidden gem! I've been to Payson/Pine many times now, on my way to the Strawberry Inn and also passing through to Winslow, and I just stopped by this coffee shop for the first time this past weekend. My friend recommended this as a perfect midway stopping point on our way to East Clear Creek from Phoenix. We arrived aroeund 9am on Saturday - about 8 of us total - but service was very fast and friendly. It is a relatively small space but has enough tables and a couple couches/comfortable reading area. So many tempting drink options to choose from, but I went with the iced georgia latte (cinnamon, caramel drizzle). I wanted the protein egg bites but they were sold out unfortunately. My latte was delicious though and I also tried my friends mocha and the honey bee drinks as well. You really can't go wrong with any of their options. We liked this place so much that we even stopped on the way back again the next day. We arrived then around 11am and the parking lot was packed because it's right next to a church. This time I did get to try their ham and cheese egg bites and they were delicious. I think the only drawback here is that it is a bit pricey - but I'll always pay extra to support small and local. I do wish their menu prices were posted though because that would influence my decision! read more

I really loved this cafe! There's both indoor and outdoor seating, the staff is welcoming, and the ambience is extremely cute and cozy. It has a Cheers-type of feel where there seems to be a lot of locals hanging out. I got the local bee latte, which is honey and lavender but it wasn't so overwhelming on the lavender that it tastes like soap. It was so soothing and foamy, and worth the $6. They make delicious drinks. My husband enjoyed his latte as well. The only reason I docked a star is because there was a piece of the wooden coffee stirrer inside my drink that I almost choked on. I wish there was a Common Grounds in Chandler with all of its staff so I could go there everyday! My hub and I are camping this weekend and needed to go somewhere with Wi-Fi and somewhere dog friendly for a work call. After placing my order and asking about the Wi-Fi connection, Tom mentioned which side of the patio had the better connection and immediately helped us move a table into the shade. SO nice. Wi-Fi was great, coffee even better, and filtered water for the pups. I wish everybody had this good of hospitality, it makes the biggest difference.. because even though we're just getting coffee, it makes you feel like you're being taken care of. I called and talked to Pam; asked if I could place the order with her and pick up a few min after closing. She said, "sure!" A few minutes later, we arrive. Cold Brew and Local Lavender Oat Milk Latte (vegan) we're waiting at the pick up window for us. I got a MunkPack Double Chocolate Vegan Cookie as well, $12 + Tip and we were on our way!
