I stopped by on the recommendation by a friend but was super concerned that the person serving the donuts was not wearing a mask correctly, and there was also a customer inside without a mask on. Today even tho they were out of what I ordered they called up and asked what I wanted instead, and threw in some extras! I swear I only ordered 6 donuts but I WILL eat them all (3 tiers in this box my friends)! If possible you should try to pickup of course, however they don't have an in house driver so Uber eats will deliver and while I don't condone their profit schemes I do appreciate that small shops can bring me their food this way. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I've been dying to give this place a try and finally had the time to order delivery. I took a few bites out of one of the donuts and upon closer inspection I saw each and every one had a mold spot on it. I wasn't even going to post this but when I called the restaurant to kindly inform them for THEIR SAKE, the man who answered the phone was incredibly rude and told me to bring the donuts to him so he can prove me wrong. This cozy coffee shop in Bay Ridge has been here for decades and they serve up wonderful homemade donuts and fresh coffee along with a whole lot of other assorted items. Most of my visits are for "to go" stuff since I am down there to visit the Galaxy Comics store and so far I've only had some donuts and coffee. The place has a true neighborhood vibe that appeals to me and the staff behind the counter are friendly and quick to serve you. There are about a half dozen tables to sit down with friends if you like but I always prefer the counter since it lets you be a part of the busy pace that is happening right in front of you. That's all I have to say but its worth a visit. There aren't too many shops like this one left in NYC. Be sure to support them, and then go to the comic book store across the street on our recommendation. read more

My friend was craving donuts and this was one of the few bakeries that sold donuts. After seeing the good reviews we decided to give this place a try. There's a deal where if you come after noon, you can get 3 donuts for $2. The prices for this place are really cheap considering dunkin' donuts charges more than a dollar for one donut. We ended up ordering the Apple Crumb, Vanilla Sprinkle, and Boston Cream. The selection was extremely limited by the time we went (I think around 4pm on a Saturday). Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about this place but nothing good to say either. The donuts gave off the same satisfaction as a donut from Dunkin Donut. On our last day in NY, we stopped here and got donuts and bagels for breakfast. The donuts were amazing - so much better than the dunkin across the street, and (per the owners) baked on premises twice a day. Everyone we were traveling with raved about them - I wish we'd come here earlier. The owners were also super nice to my kids - giving them smiles as they got excited about ordering donuts and also giving them mini donuts on the house on the way out the door. The bagels are also pretty good - way better than anything I've had in Michigan. The condiments available are a bit limited, but that's the only real knock against them. The interior is fantastic - unlike most of the places we went they had a ton of seating, and even had old school bar stools at the counter. I'm super jealous we don't have anything this awesome where I live - I hope to visit again in the future. read more

OLD SCHOOL doughnut shop with freshly baked on premises doughnuts. They are not expensive at all and have specials when you buy half or a dozen. They have all different types of doughnuts but you can also get muffins and other pastry type of stuff. Made a trip to get their donuts for a birthday party. As we walked into the shop customers sitting enjoying their food as they stare at us walking in. I can smell the the aroma of donuts all over. Guy behind the counter greeted us and ask what they can do for us. Very pleasantly greeted. We ordered two dozens of varieties. Once that stood out for us was the Apple fill coconut, fruity pebbles, jelly and cream puff Cake donuts, some classics also. Good texture and fluffy. Mike's Donuts is figuratively the Peter Pan Donuts equivalent of South Brooklyn. There, I said it. There is no substitute and let it be known that they make their donuts fresh daily on-premises. Everything looks and smells wonderful and as with establishments that's been around since 1976, they have a huge following. Let me say this- I'm now one of them. Of course, as with most businesses from the '70s, their decor is also stuck from that era. There's not much to look at. WiFi? Creature comforts? Don't ask about it. Customer service is friendly but atypical of Brooklyn, heavy handed, so get a clue as to what you want to order, pronto! What they lack in ambiance, they make up for in their product- donuts, which they pride themselves on, and they don't disappoint. They have a good selection but nowhere near as many or as appetizing as old-school favorites from Peter Pan Donuts, to which I compare Mike's to directly. This is not to say they fall short on anything in any way. Sometimes less (choice) is more. I've bought the chocolate, crumb and pom pom donuts and they're as good as I've remembered them every single time. Tasty, not oily, solid texture but soft. As with donut/coffee shops, they offer other things too like croissants and bagels for your breakfast needs. For everything else there's always Dunkin' across the street but why would you bother with that? Wonderful doughnut shop in Brooklyn. Friendly attentive service and all their doughnuts are made fresh daily. You get a old school feel when walking in and the people there were so friendly. Great prices for doughnuts too. You definitely get your bang for your buck with quality doughnuts. Also a nice coffee or iced coffee is had here too. I've never been to the actual shop but my co-worker brought donuts from here to work at least 3 times and I've loved them each and every time. This is not to say that the donuts here are the best I've ever had but for $1 I would have to say that they're very good for their price point. It's definitely better than Dunkin Donuts!
